Help me out. I've been looking for a version of Rolling Girl for years. Basically someone took Rumdarjun's cover and added back the Miku vocals so you have some lines sung by Rumdarjun and other lines by Miku. I can find the respective original's obviously but never that particular mix. I know it exists because it was one of the songs that first got me into Vocaloids.

I kinda like PinocchioP's Magical Mirai theme, but now that I think about it, The World Hasn't Even Started Yet would've worked better. I wonder if it was a scrapped theme song draft.

Actually I misread your comment, but world hasn't even started is clearly about that band (not only the showtime part but their plot is saving a dying amusement park). PinnochioP made something that could apply to the current world situation, but not to Miku herself (which MM songs are always about, including his own).

Did you guys know that Gatebox discontinued Miku?
They literally removed her with a firmware update. If you bought it for her, you are fucked, they erase her in front of your eyes.

This honestly makes me sad, I'm disappointed in gatebox. They advertise as living with characters, yet the characters can disappear without a warning. I wonder what went wrong, because this is clearly a shot in a foot.

This doesn't surprise me. It seems that Crypton likes to give timed licenses to third parties and if they don't renew their license they discontinue the product. It makes sense from a business standpoint because if they give an unlimited license and this becomes insanely popular Crypton might want to do a similar product and have to compete with what's already established on the market. Most companies want to use Miku as a quick promotional tool anyway. The cattle that is the Vocaloid fanbase will just buy something right away or pre-order so no need for long term sales.

While this is comparable to someone breaking into your home and smashing your Nendos with a hammer because GoodSmile's license ran out it's just a normal day in digital product land.

If you know a bit about these stuff, you can easily make a LCD screen in a tube, get some MMD model, spend months animating and trying to make Vocaloid not make your ears bleed when it talks. Then add some firebase to imitate sms notifications on your phone and, some cloud or local solution for voice recognition you are pretty much set. The problem is that even after all of this, your Miku will only just answer to bunch hardcoded commands and adding new stuff requires you to animate and synthesize dialogues again and again.

That would be best what you can do, unless you somehow find thousands of hours of learning materials of "how to behave like a proper waifu" and teach some GPT-like ml model. Maybe she wouldn't be able to think for herself or do anything too amazing, but at least will generate something suitable as a response.

The problem with GPT-3 and similar right now is that they are fundamentally extraordinary paraphrasing machines, that's ok for a regular chatbot since you don't care how they answer you, only that the answer is correct (if I ask a question and it brings me a restructured wikipedia section then the goal is complete) and each question is more or less independent (no complex persisting context). But as a waifu, it means it will have no mannerisms and no memory. Even if your waifu has a 1000 hours VN to train (or something you made), the pretrained nature of the GPT-3 means it will only record the overall meaning of the dialogue, and can bring back in any way (for example exchanging all the words your waifu commonly use for synonyms). And most importantly, nothing you do will have any effect on her being outside of training again. I don't think it's worth it right now.

I definitely don't think we need AGI (if making one is even feasible for humans) for a decent intelligent virtual companion/NPC experience. Right now we are good at encoding and decoding both voice and text (lots of problems that were troublesome in the past like dealing with the huge ways the same text can be structured is less of a problem now). What is truly missing is a reasoning system (something like the GPT-3 version of theorem provers and program induction). For example if you say "I hate peas" or "I really can't stand these green seeds", GPT-3 would encode it in a similar meaning space, and the new system could manage a fuzzy facts database and add a "user doesn't like vegetables" and perhaps compare with other facts like "vegetables are healthy for user" which will be used as the input for the GPT-3 decoding instead of solely the encoded text. It's hardly AGI, but it's something that is way beyond what we can do right now.

Sort of, but we already have automatic theorem provers almost since digital computers are a thing and they are not really considered AGI even though it is better at logic than any human (and there are also neural ones). It will obviously do a very bad job (as it can't really separate facts, lies, objective, subjective, important, trivial, sarcasm, figure of speech when adding to the database) so I have no doubts no one will call it AGI outside of the marketing team. But for very restricted domains (for example inside a game where you have very few options within roleplaying range, or if you're very careful when talking to your waifu) it might become somewhat acceptable.

I bought Project Diva X today and it's ok, I don't think it's terrible but it's a little jarring compared to the others. Gonna ramble about it here.

I don't mind the story and I like how they change personalities depending on what type of aura the module they're wearing is. Rather than having 'cute' 'quirky' 'cool' etc clouds I think it would have been better if each cryptonloid had their own cloud, so each of them get fair recognition which we haven't seen in any game yet. As a Rin and Lukafag, 19/24 songs in the game being just Miku is pretty damn boring, though the song selection is really good. I wish more songs in project diva overall had switchable vocals, I feel like project mirai dx had the most in that regard. I also don't understand why they all share one diva room now instead of having separate ones, or why the cute patty cake minigame was removed. I wish more focus was put into diva room overall actually. Concert editing mode is boring too. It's just an ok game.

Most people do not care for other vocaloids much. Playing through their clouds without seeing Miku for most time would be pain.
Also Vocaloids are not supposed to have fixed personalities, they must try to appeal to people who interpret them in different ways.

Sand Planet implies that the creativity well dried, people are leaving, and who is left is desperately trying to bring people and find anything worthwhile, which is a clear hyperbole (especially at that time) since lots of producers are still producing great songs. It's still a catchy song with a very high budget and well designed PV though.

"Because you're here" says that even though the super fun party (the golden era) is over and some people left, as long as there are people around Miku she can still sing and bring joy.
