I've only read Tsukihime so far, but from the Kohaku arc, I got a very different impression. Makihisa went on and on about how while Akiha's Tohno blood was weak, it had a much older, more powerful nature than SHIKI's. Shiki even commented that were it not for his eyes and their ability to see the invisible attack coming he's not sure who could stand against her. But now we're derailing this into another power level discussion...

That said, Gilgamesh just goes around calling people mongrels and acting like a jerk. Akiha is such a snob that even her kindness is backhanded. Gilgamesh is a bigger snob, but Akiha is a better snob.

This. I think it's more that people fear her due to her dominant nature (and maybe their subconscious senses of something not being normal about her), than outright hate her. Fear can turn into hate though, but that's not Akiha's fault then.

Also IIRC Akiha is (low-ish) midtier. Sure she can't do shit about servants and higher tier beings but being able to nigh-instantly drain energy from anything she sets her eyes on within 10(?) meters is not the weakest ability out there. Again IIRC, Shiki would never have stood a chance against her if it had not been dark, thus hard to see and target, in the school hallways.

And concerning OP, comparing Akiha and Gil is just silly. Gil owns the fucking world and justly acts arrogant, there's no winning him. Akiha dominates her surroundings with her personality but that's pretty much that.
