Sorry for being a brainlet but what the hell happened in that MB Nightmare manga anyway? As far as i understand, basically Atlas in EXTRA world created notSion and then put her in their simulation. But for whatever reason loli Olga put realSion's soul into the artificial one, kept going around and saying "the future can't be changed" and somehow was able to interfere with all the virtual worlds inside Atlas' simulation. The simulation disturbed A:E thus she made her appearance (which sorta implies that those worlds weren't virtual but actually the real deal?), pointed out the Sion in simulation was actually real Sion all along, said this might be because of a "catalyst" which was Olga and then undo all the mess. How confusing.

It's a pain in the ass for a new player to catch up since you missed out on a lot of welfare servants, mainly Chloe and Rider Kintoki. You can certainly clear the main story and shit without having to resort to paying for the gacha since F2P servants are fine, but it's a painful road.

FGO doesn't really fuck with the characterization of the Fate/Stay servants.
Alternative forms yes, but the "original" versions don't have much of a role in the main story aside from showing up in side events once in a while. Even vanilla Artoria doesn't have a big role in the story aside from the Fate Zero event I think and even then she was mostly in the background.

>死者の蘇生には時間旅行、並行世界の運営、無の否定、いずれかの魔法が絡む。
>Revival of the dead requires the use of either time travel, control over parallel worlds, or denial of nothingness Magic.
is Magic able to revive/resurrect the death? as far as i understand, this part from HA implies it is but in Mahoyo
>Resurrection of the dead?
>Healing of wounds?
>There’s no indication that such an elaborate spell was applied, but more than anything else, restoring the body would not undo “death”.
>Since times of old, complete resurrection of the dead has not been granted by even Magic.
>Then how does that account for the breathing of the unconscious youth lying on the ground behind Aoko!?
>(Resurrection of the dead is the Aozaki's Magic...?
>No, it’s something else. It’s not so much as resurrection as it’s……”)
And in FGO
>Using the magical energy that I have accumulated for hundreds of years, here I can raise a miracle unreachable by any Magic.
>'The complete resurrection of the dead'. Though with that said, death in the Time Temple doesn't really count in reality.
so Magic can resurrect/revive the dead to some extent, but it can't perform a complete resurrection i guess?

>> No.23737040

It can't do true resurrection, that would require something at or beyond Root level.
The other scenario is only possible due to the nature of the Time Temple.

>That Holy Grail can't revive a dead body.
>The Holy GrailIlya can only use the divine mystery called the Third Sorcery.

Theoretically speaking, can you fully revive someone who is already dead by making that wish upon the Holy Grail?

Third Magic can't but Fifth Magic you can but it's a bit complicated because it's time manipulation, you won't erase the events of the death but you can throw the seconds or minutes that led to the death of somebody far into the future (billions year after the events) and so the person who's death get canceled will just live and die normaly.
You need to read Mahoyo for more detail.

The story takes place in a particularly hot summer in the 1990s, in a small quiet Japanese village called Sotoba. A series of mysterious deaths begin to spread in the village, at the same time when a strange family moves into the long-abandoned Kanemasa mansion. Doctor Toshio Ozaki, director of Sotoba’s only hospital, initially suspects an epidemic; however, as investigations continue and the deaths begin to pile up, he learns—and becomes convinced—that they are the work of the “shiki”, vampire-like creatures, plaguing the village. A young man named Natsuno Yuuki, who hates living in the village, begins to be pursued and surrounded by death.

The main problem with McJon's work aren't mistranslations, there are few of them and they could've been corrected fairly easily, but that he has a tendency (or at least had in the past) to drop or heavily reword entire sentences for whatever reason. Whether or not that affects actual reading experience all that much is debatable, but still I can't call it a good translation. He is like a polar opposite of Cokesakto, who starts writing his own fanfiction when he doesn't know how to translate something.

They claimed in their news post it was an unintentional mistake caused by communication errors between all the different people involved in creating servant profiles.

Which is pretty much a lie since Nasu has said many times servant profiles are pretty much written entirely by the servant author and himself. Programmers aren't going to replace the text with shit from a 30 year old translation, so they're just covering for Sakurai being a fucking hack. I don't understand how she can be stupid enough to actually pull something like that in 2020

That's not totally true though, the historical background part is sometimes written by Morise Ryou or Miwa Kiyomune. Morise even apologised here so it seems it was him this time.

https://note.com/studiobb/n/ne261c375003f (see the link for more pictures)
Nice to meet you, I'm Yoshikazu Takenouchi and my fateful bonds leads to be working as the new art director for Studio BB.
My job involves mainly designing concept arts, backgrounds and assets.

I have experience working with President Takeuchi in Fate/Grand Order and with Director Niinou and Writer Tsukuda in Dragon Quest Builders 2, and due these bonds they called me to work with them in whatever project they're currently making.

In this industry it's common to meet again the people you're bonded to... but I never expected this to be how it would go (sweats).
Now I'm like a have to do a good job wherever I go to preserve and connect more bonds.

Well, now seems like a good show some of the art I did for Fate/Grand Order.

This set are rough sketches used for Part 2 Chapter 4, the Yuga Kshetra arc.
When I first started drawing these art, I kept getting the wild ideas and the respective story writer incorporated a lot of them into canon.

This is rough indoor assets for Part 2 Chapter 5, the Atlantis/Olympus arc.
The worldbuilding shared between both arcs was already defined from the start, so I remember needing to ask the respective story writer(s) a lot about how far I was allowed to mess around with the line of design.

Here's another art I did for the Atlantis/Olympus arc.
This was produced long before the chapter, so my memory about it is not very detailed, but I remember I had the time of my life drawing this one. (laughs)
This big crystal-ish mountain filling most of the screen was designed after Mt. Olympus.

As for the project I'm currently working on, I again got the wildest ideas in my conversations with Director Niinou, so I was officialized for jobs and it's time for me to make a few pieces of concept art like the ones I just presented.

Due to the current state of national emergency, the meetings and the art processing are being done online but everything is running in a relatively steadier pace.

We on the staff are all working diligently, looking forward to the day we can present you with an enjoyable experience.
Give out games a try whenever they are complete.

Seems like it refers to Avalon
>Man's concept of paradise was but an imitation of this isle at world's end, a land which they would forever be forbidden from setting foot upon. Legends referred to this microcosm as 'the island of apples'; a land of everlasting spring; a utopia that could never be obtained or reached by wiser beasts; a realm untouched by the cycle of descensions and downfalls seen in the greater world; and a strange land that had always existed alongside the length of human history and yet would never cross paths with humanity.
>Its name was Avalon - and it was the inner sea of the planet, the seat for the soul of the celestial being called Earth.
>"No... that is not the most correct expression to describe such a thing. For this realm is after all set upon both a higher and a lower plane of our world. I would say that it exists in the exact same point and location but off-set by several phases."
By the way, note that A:E's stage in Melty Blood was called "inner sea of the planet" too, she also said in a scenario that "i should return to the inner sea of the planet".
And since Avalon is the seat of the Earth's soul and the ritual in Extra damaged the Earth's soul according to Last Encore, does this mean the ritual damaged Avalon/innersea?

Well we know that ritual happened in England and Avalon is at the same coordinates as Britain so yes. Also, isn't there a pathway that directly leads to the inner sea under the Clock Tower? It's implied to be a big threat to the Earth in FGO i think.

Avalon is the inner sea of the planet corresponding to England. There should be others around like Tír na nÓg in Ireland.

Also yeah, 80-400km underground at the deepest part of Albion there is a path to fairyland. Even time works differently there as seen with Heartless time slip into the past.

>> No.23820637

>>23820185
Beni-enma event brings up that topic too yeah, also Tír na nÓg
>Tamamo: On that foregone day, when you separated from your worldly form, things like aging were taken away to have an eternal life to look forward to.
>Fionn: A changeling would be in this same category. It’s a kind of fairy that can kidnap human children. Each and every fairy’s characteristics are held by their worldly appearance, and that common knowledge of the spirit world is what lets them beckon humans in. In their world, humans do not grow old. However, once they return to the real world, that dream-like price is paid in one breath.
>Diarmuid: Is that like Tír na nÓg, Fionn Mac Cumhaill?
>Fionn: No no no. The land of eternal youth (Tír na nÓg) is place where fairies live, but it's not an otherworld, Diarmuid. The world of faries... fairyland is this planet's dream, something akin to a reality marble. It has beautiful dreams and evil dreams. It would seem these dreams decide a fairy's disposition.

Pretty much a call back to this
>Also, in the world of Tsukihime spiritual realms (otherworlds) are not alternate dimensions, but rather exist within the world itself. Things like legendary lands and countries of eternal spring are the products of the imagination of whatever elemental rules over them. >Consequently, it is possible for humans to wander into them by accident.

In Hollow Ataraxia, why exactly is Cu so cold to Bazett when he lances her? Is he being callous defensively, or is he disappointed in her? Obviously there's a parallel to Scathach, but I figured he would put Bazett down more gently considering her vulnerable personality.

Also, in the conclusion, are the servants vanished from Fuyuki because the dream is over?

While reading Mahoyo, I decided to check how the new translation handled some potentially difficult parts.
>They took advantage of our carelessness to accomplish one of their true objectives.
>こっちが油断してる隙に、本命を一つ奪われた。
>Impregnable and assembled by the Aozaki ancestors, owner of these administered lands, its role was to locate and observe foreign visitors.
>これは外部からの来訪者を把握、監視する為のもので、管理地のオーナーである蒼崎の先祖が敷いた、消しようのない機能だ。
>By the way Alice, the start of the fire pentagram is done this way, right?
>ところで有珠、火の五芒星の退去ってこうだっけ
>After checking every Pivot in Misaki and returning on the first train from Toukawa, she had decided to read as many books as possible while it was daytime, until she could successfully visualise the subject.
>三咲市の支点をチェックして回り、始発の電車で陶川から帰ってくる時から、彼女はずっと、今日は居間で日が暮れるまで読書、文字がゲシュタルトるまで読書、と決めていたのである。
Under that magma were countless hidden tentacles (udon).
>その下に身を潜める、ごんぶとな無数の触手(うどん)たち。
And there are probably many more mistakes left in there, since I've checked only a handful of sentences. Considering that these mistakes seem to stem from the French translation it can be concluded that there was little to none JP checking.

Translating is a pain in the ass and I am an ESL to boot. So I'll just try to explain the mistakes.
1. While Touko accomplishing one of her true objectives fits the context, the text talks that one important thing was taken from Aoko and Alice (Touko destroyed one of the Pivots)
2. Aozaki's barrier isn't impregnable since it supposed to let anyone through and only spy on them. 消しようのない means that there is no way to break it or turn it off.
3. Aoko is asking how to erase fire pentagram.
4. ゲシュタルトる is a 外来語 from Gestaltzerfall. So Alice was determined to read so much to the point of this phenomenon occurring.
5. ごんぶと (thick) was thrown away.

Cu went there with the intent of doing a double-kill with himself and Bazett, though his behavior is the way it is because of his personality - when he's in kill mode, he's all business, just like in the beginning of F/SN. He couldn't afford to show emotions.

As for the ending No, in the unified timeline after F/HA, it's apparent that all the servants are still running around except Angra Mainju who faded away, probably, maybe. There's some old interviews you can find where they talk about possibly continuing the story, but nothing ever came of it AFAIK. It's not been discussed in years.

Though if you're interested in the setting at all, One Day! is a very good fan-sequel to HA. Thanks to the kaleidoscope rule, it's effectively canon.
