I'm actually playing Tekken 3 at the moment. I'm using Forest Law. I'm gonna buy Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection after I've accomplised enough on 3.

I've got the PSN version (minus add-on) and wouldn't recommend it unless you already love the game as it's pretty bare bones game mode wise, looks great in 1080p though.

>> No.2356836

If you're entirely new to the game:
SFII: Champion Edition

If you want to get into tournament level:
Super Street Fighter II Turbo

>> No.2356838

>>2356758
Start with the first one, play the rest in order of release.

Same as any other franchise.

>> No.2356845

SF2. Be manly and go Zangief, like me. ;_;

>> No.2356849

>>2356838
Not relevant to skill based games. Start with the best one (3rd Strike), ignore inferior ones. Same as you should start Touhou with SA.

SF4

No.

You'll be missing out on the story that way, and that is what is most important. That's why you start with EoSD (the previous games are of a different series and have no connection).

>> No.2356882

>>2356870
Touhou story (for all games):
Youkai are fucking shit up! Reimu goes and fights them! Everybody drinks tea or sake together!
Now you can skip all the boring conversation parts and not miss anything.

playing a fighting game for story is pretty bad. Its a nice bonus but far from being important.

>> No.2356890

don't, it's pretty much the most boring fighting game.
but hey, 95% of that genre is absolute uninteresting crap.

if you're talking about jackie chan, he's awesome.

More accurately it's not relevant to games without a decent plot. 3S has two viable characters, requires you to remember the frame data to be entry level because of parrying (which is a shit mechanic, by the way), and replaced the cast with terrible misfits.

Just get HD Remix, Alpha 3 or, if you actually want to play a human opponent at some point, SF4.

>> No.2356903

Play Guilty Gear instead

>> No.2356907

SF is pretty dumb. I thought MB was bad, but then I played SF4. Oh he picked guile crouch sonicboom sonicboom sonicboom low sweep sonic boom FLASHKICK sonic boom sonic fuck this game.

I was watching gamechariot matches of Ryu vs Sagat, wow that shit was so dumb my brain melted.

Execution is too difficult for Americans. The most advanced combo they can master is HP > SHORYUKEN.

Street Fighter Alpha 2 for the SNES is all you need.

Except Guilty Gear doesn't have harder execution because there's less emphasis on linking.

Jam B&B:
K, c.S, S, 6HS xx c.S, 6HS, HS.
I hammer these as fast as humanly possible except the 6HS > c.S and the combo works. The only thing that requires a bit of execution is the corner loop or doing a RC off 236236HS for abuse.

Sakura SF4 B&B:
c.mk xx lk-tatsu xx c.lk xx lk-tatsu xx c.hp xx ex-tatsu, otoshi x3.
See all those links? I have to time every single hit within a very close time frame. Get the timing wrong and the combo drops and the hits are blocked (or incoming reversal).

The execution barrier is not harder in Guilty Gear just because the combos are longer, the game lets you enter the combos much easier. Combos weren't even built into SF2 - they were an accident, you have to that shit by the frame.

Your Sakura must be better than JWongs, since the only combo he ever uses is lk lp lk 623P.

These must be easy for you.

That's not a Jam BnB.

An example of a Jam BnB is:
5K c.S 5HS 6HS -> 6P c.S 5HS 6HS -> 6P c.S 5HS 6HS 6HS

>>2357029
Why do you Otoshi after EXtatsu? The damage is subpar, it's better to reset them in air with j.lk, land, then play 50/50 with them. Hold forward, you're behind them, don't and you're in front. It's so subtle that I think the only more disgusting reset is Abel's cr.HP roll cr.HP roll bullshit.

i wanna play blazblue so i can main Reimu Hakumen

>> No.2357600

>>2357544
I'm perfectly aware. The reason is because it is an example and that finisher best supports the point I was trying to make...

But the damage is not really subpar on the otoshi, it's the best finisher unless you're going for the mix-up, stuns like a complete bastard and works anywhere on the screen. And ever fight 'Gief online? You don't always want to do that.

>> No.2357766

>>2357081
You could do a medium dragon after too. You're probably looking at the videos where she has slightly different stats and he had never used her before. And ex-tatsu takes meter.

>>2357112
Not really, but I don't really care. My point was not that execution in GG is easy, but that ST and GG execution barriers were not miles apart. An extra link wouldn't change that.
