Do you think ZUN will ever sign a deal or sell off Touhou to a larger company?
I'm sure he's been asked at least once by now, but there is a possibility that he could break and give in, isn't there?

>> No.2353322

He makes the games because he likes making them.

You're telling me if some large gaming company came to you with a large sum of money, you wouldn't give in?
There is only so much pressure someone can take, and I'm sure realistically most people would give in.

>> No.2353330

He's gotten thousands of requests (i.e. for official anime adaptions) and he's denied them all.

The only non-game material is stuff he asks for, like SSiB and CiLR.

I thought you said you would quit making retarded topics, but I guess that's too much to ask from a tripfag.

It must be hard on ZUN.

That would've been the best April Fool's joke ever from ZUN.

Also the second ZUN sells it off is the second it dies. Can you imagine what would happen if a company attempted to enforce copyright on TOUHOU?

The new Touhou games would not make success because they're not powered by love (or beer).
ZUN would just get out of there and start a new series.

>Touhou Corporation specializes in developing and marketing enterprise software products — particularly danmaku systems. Through organic, drunken growth and doujin works, Touhou enlarged its share of the software market. By 2007 Touhou ranked third on the list of largest danmaku companies in the world, after Cave and Amusement Makers. Subsequently it became larger than Amusement Makers after its acquisition of Taito Corporation.

>The corporation has arguably become best-known due to association with its flagship Touhou danmaku. The company also builds tools for danmaku development, middle-tier software, enterprise resource planning software (ERP), customer relationship management software (CRM) and bullet pattern management (BPM) software.

>The founder and CEO of Touhou Corporation, ZUN, has served as Touhou's CEO throughout the company's history.

>Touhou is the industry leader of enterprise-quality danmaku solutions. Without technologies, you will lack re-sizing. What does the jargon-based term "bullet intelligence" really mean? We will revalue our capacity to utilize without lessening our capability to target. We constantly embrace viral niches. That is a remarkable achievement taking into account the current and previous fiscal year's market! What does it really mean to engineer "robustly"? What do we incentivize? Anything and everything, regardless of obscureness! Choose Touhou for your bullet intelligence application solutions.

Larger? Touhou is already pretty big, the only competitor I can think of that's bigger is Microsoft Bullet Analysis Services.

ZUN likes making those games, and popularity is secondary to that. But he probably doesn't want others making undeserved fortunes off his ideas and creations. And really, that's quite fair.

I doubt it. He's been working for Taito for years. The games by that company are what inspired him to create Touhou in the first place.

I'm not sure if he still works for them; I wouldn't be surprised if he was laid off during the whole Square Enix takeover in late 2008. But he would have completely whored out Touhou a long time ago if he needed to (or even cared to).

ZUN should just open his !bar finally and concentrate all his programming efforts on Touhou. He should already have quite a sum on his account from all the sales through the years. If he didn't spend it all on alcohol, that is.

>> No.2353550

>>2353486

Zun among others is an exception but most groups only get revenue from their initial print run and sales at the event.

Piracy of doujin goods isn't damaging like it is to a commerical company and any artist who pays much attention to their income beyond meeting costs doesn't belong in the scene.

Especially in the case of music I don't understand people who refuse to upload stuff in the name of encouraging sales, it doesn't work like that.

Yeah, I think Japanese ZUN is a simple man.

If he could spend the rest of his life drinking beer, making doujin games, and replaying Darius Gaiden and XEXEX then he would probably be an extremely happy man.

He doesn't need riches or women or any of that stuff. Because he could have gotten those by now if he wanted them.

Schwarzgeist is my favorite boss, I haven't played it in a while but I remember that you can destroy its "legs" to prevent it from firing missiles, and the best way to kill those saucer things is by shooting them in the center but they quickly come back anyway. You can avoid the screen-wide laser barrage by moving under the boss or between the lasers.

>> No.2353601

>>2353590

Also, you can fight the bonus jellyfish boss by destroying the "button" that comes out of the top of the boss's saucer part but that boss is a real pain in the ass.
