Should I read the VN or the manga version of Higanbana? Since the visual novel is an adaptation I want to read through the original story first, but I'm scared of getting bored without a good soundtrack to read a story written by Ryukishi. 07th stuff is memorable thanks to their amazing sound design so I was wondering.

The manga is the third of a series of failed attempts to create Higanbana. It's incomplete and what there is really fucking awful. It might be worth reading out of curiosity, but it's not good at all and will spoil some of the best chapters in a really crappy way.

Just go with the VN. It's infinitely better and might as well be the original. That's when Ryu got tired of his project being fucked up by bad artists and decided to do a VN by himself.

>> No.23430590

>>23430316
Manga is shit and I'm pretty sure even Ryuukishi hates it. Read the VN, it has a great sountrack and much better pacing. The manga is basically an unfinished mockery of the first three chapters and very poorly written. The drawing are also DEEN-tier exaggerated bullshit that makes the story look like a parody.

>> No.23430652

>>23430573
I believe he attempted a light novel version called "the school youkai guide" or something like that. It got rejected. Then he hired an artist to make a manga and it got cancelled after the first chapter. Then we got the final manga with another artist, but it was mostly shit and got cancelled after three or four chapters. The only "good" part about it is the loli fanservice at the beginning (pretty generic and anatomically incorrect, though), which doesn't fit at all and makes a mockery of the story. It kills the atmosphere and reads like a shitty horror version of a bad ecchi manga. The serious moments are also exaggerated to the point of being impossible to take seriously.

The details may be wrong, but it's something like that. He was really determined to see this thing finished and eventually made it into a full-fledged VN because the project appeared to be cursed.

>> No.23430681

>>23430652
Just to be clear, there is no nudity, just really out of place panty shots. It's not even worth looking up. Also, the artist died a few years ago. So yeah, the series is cursed.

It's a crying shame, I think a proper manga would work really well.

Same, Stella is too much of a pro at what she does. She'd give you your moneys worth of sultry onee-san service for sure, but at the end of the day it'd just be a business transaction and that's just depressing. Meryl would still see you as a customer of course, but the fact that she's less sophisticated and acknowledges the sad reality of the situation in an off-hand way would make getting drunk and having shallow, ultimately meaningless sex with her more genuine so you'd be able to have fun without overthinking things.

My theory is that SJWs represent a displaced religious impulse. There's a big difference between an activist who has practical goals and a strategy for achieving them and someone who simply thinks that they are "good" because they have the right beliefs and that everyone who doesn't have the exact same beliefs is "bad." You're a heretic.

There's no room for civil disagreement with SJWs, which is why they can actually be detrimental to getting people from different backgrounds to work together. It's why when they take over an organization, they drive everyone else away.

This cult-like mentality is the reason you can't find trannies or fags who aren't disgusting SJWs anymore. They ALL are. I feel nothing but contempt and prejudice towards trannies and fags because I just KNOW they'll turn out to be SJWs, before they even open their mouths.

This is because this cult-like SJW mentality is now mainstream. You can't be "woke" unless fight for every cause under the sun. If you support gay rights without enabling trannies, you are considered evil. If you are a tranny but don't give a shit about feminism, you are considered evil.

This is the reason you see so many faggots and basedboys pushing for feminist and SWJ crap that has absolutely nothing to do with their own issues. This is why you can't be a tranny anymore without being a SJW too. You will be accepted by these cults but only if you also accept every other minority they claim to speak for.

It's literally a cult.

>90% of society lowkey agrees with them or humors them
that's a huge exageration. If someone is neutral or conformistic that doesn't mean they support SJWs. SJWs take to the streets, fighting for weird people to be "accepted" by society. Normal people don't do that and probably most of them wish not to be involved in that shit.

I find it somewhat baffling that Ryukishi didn't write season 5-8 of RGD when he had a perfect setup for the continuation of the conflict between mafia and state, national and international interests in the modern era in place. Given that the story literally ends with "young people should be main characters who get to have a say about what's right for their future", and that Gabriel threatening the balance of power in a B3W society mirrors the illuminati threatening the balance of power in a world that has become much more fragile, it feels like Ciconia is a direct thematic continuation from where Last Season left off - so why not just write RGD2?

Everything. She helped Yasu with the letters because she hoped for an afterlife where her life isn't shit. And she wanted to see the cousins and adults lose their minds when her occult bullshit appears to be real and Beatrice seems to be walking around killing everyone.

She never really believed in Beatrice, she just forced herself to take their make-believe roleplay seriously and act like it's all real. She's very dedicated to deluding herself this way. It's the same thing Sayo did. She knew her imaginary friends were not real but she acted like they were because it felt nice.

People who think Maria is really innocent and believes in magic for real have a very poor understanding of her character, probably because they can't read between the lines or played with the misleading PS3 sprites that change your perception of Maria.

MARIA was the co-author of Beatrices personality, involved in writing the lore concerning her furniture and friends, and there's every reason to think that she must have also been involved in planning the Rokkenjima murders / writing the forgeries themselves. For instance, the fact that the commentary section of the victim profiles is clearly written from Marias perspective.

I don't think even K1 can compete. I hope nothing bad will happen to him nor Rose. They are way too cute. To be honest I didn't expect him to actually score, or at least not so early in the story considering it's the second season out of four. Ryukishi took me by surprise there. Hope that it's not a death flag for either of them, otherwise I'll pirate ciconia phase 2.

Also I had a question regarding Claudia and Wayne's status, especially for the latter as it was sort of implied that he was still alive to the point of growing old and being the second in command of Harukaze/Primavera earlier. If that's the case, how did he manage to survive an almost point blank grenade explosion and getting crushed by a burning car? Actually, I'll put my question aside for now. I'm glad I went past my preconceived ideas about Rose Guns Days, because it's a really enjoyable read. It's not a mystery/WTC but it is kino. I hope that Keireiji and especially Miguel won't kick the bucket, otherwise I'll be very sad.

except the whole point of truth vs love was deconstructing the mystery genres treatment of objectivity. no, "choosing what you believe" doesn't just mean that you have to believe in an objective, given reality and get to decide subjectively whether to see it with love or not. In the first place, objectivity is already mediated by the intersubjective and the beliefs and judgements you bring to the table as an observer.

>There shouldn't be an answer so that everyone can make their own.
I get where you're coming from. Theorizing and coming up with your own interpretations is a major part of the experience reading Umineko. Every reader should strive to solve the various mysteries as they go along. Having a concrete truth seemingly undermines this ideal by tossing out the answers many readers strove to create. But in reality it's a very necessary part of the story's theme. Simply pursuing the truth isn't enough on it's own. It's also important to be able to face the truth head on just as Ange did, come what may. Whether you're right or wrong, what's important is that you strove to build your own interpretations. Seeing what really happened gives the story a closure that's inherently impossible when everything the reader takes away was based on mere speculation.

Wanting the answer to remain ambiguous in order to allow every possible theory to persist is no different than allowing Beato to lock the truth in the catbox because it's more fun playing with the gameboard's possibilities.

Exactly. The whole point of Umineko is that everyone on the island can be the culprit (or all not, just an accident) and the reader can believe what he/she believes, different beliefs won't contradict with each other and they are all viewed as truth since the island is blown up and there's no way to discover the truth.

Have you ever read "Hell in Bottles" from Yumeno Kyusaku, a Japanese mystery writer?
Why is it necessary for a mystery to have a definite truth?

I just read it, about the brother and sister on the island, so how is this "mystery" not definite ?

>> No.23485859

I'm not the guy you're replying to, but that's the promise that mystery stories make. "If you spend enough time reading and thinking, you can find all the clues, make the right deductions, and figure out the obscured information." That's a cultural thing, but I'd be very surprised if the Japanese disagree. The promise is even discussed at length in Umineko.

If, instead of a solvable mystery, the author delivers something else to the reader (for example, a sermon about the nature of truth), then a reader may very well conclude they've been cheated of the time they spent hunting for clues and making deductions. They might not care what the "point" of the story turned out to be, because they wanted a solvable mystery.

>>23485778
I just read Hell in Bottles as well, and I don't think I'd call it a mystery. I never got the feeling while reading it that I was being promised more satisfaction if I thought really, really hard about what was going on. The closest thing would have been the answer to "why did the ship arrive just then?", but that only adds a bit of irony.

I think there's definitely a most probable sequence of events, but based on >>23484739 , I'm guessing that Hell in Bottles is being used as an example of a story which could be interpreted as describing multiple, different sets of events. Maybe the different events are what happened between the final bottle being sealed and all the bottles being discovered (because that obviously didn't go as predicted in the note)? But no matter what happened, I don't think it really changes the story.

>> No.23485915

>>23485859
I'm intrigued because I got heavily biased while reading the story due to focusing on it being "mystery", whereas it seems to fit a perfectly straight-forward set of events.
There are some interesting loose ends like how they found the bottles, and if we assume that they are the only bottles that were sent, if the ship was merely a coincidence since the bottles does not seem to have reached it.
By the way. it seems that this novel has a movie adaptation, however it seems to be an excuse for soft-porn and perhaps some breakthrough in the erotic regulations from Japan.

>> No.23485984

>>23485915
Yeah, I was the same way. I was looking for some kind of contradiction, and then it would become a story that meant different things depending on which statement you believed. But the only things I found to suspect were 1) that he would recognize the people on the ship, and 2) that the bottles were/would be received as claimed (he also claims they only started with three). Those have pretty straightforward explanations, and they also don't seem very significant.

“...Do you know why I am not embarrassed to show myself to you naked...?”

Battler gave no response.

“It’s because you are furniture. Furn-i-ture. Understand? Furniture, just FURNITURE! Who would feel shame at exposing their body to an ottoman? So there is no reason for me to feel shame because of you. *cackle*cackle*cackle*cackle*cackle*!”

When the witch stood up, her jacket slipped off, just from her shoulders, falling to the ground with a thump. When the furniture respectfully approached to pick up those clothes, the witch gave it a small kick and it fell over. The furniture was afraid of what misconduct it had shown.

“Do you, as furniture, plan to force me to unbutton myself? Stand. And undo the buttons. One by one, politely. Quickly. Beautifully. With no mistakes. The guests are being kept waiting, change my clothes quickly.” Beatrice faced Battler, effectively reduced to being her slave, no, worse than a slave, an object to be used and referred to as “it”. It no longer had feelings. It no longer had sentience. It, was not truly alive in her eyes anymore, for he had submitted and gave up the contest, while at the same time foolishly stating he would do anything in return.

Battler was about to learn the depths of her depravity.

He swiftly removed her shirt and tie, leaving her top-half in nothing but her bra. As he went to remove her skirt, she slapped his hands away.

“Stop. Kiss.” She said, as she pointed to the area just under her navel. It looked unbearably soft to the touch, and Battler immediately did as she commanded, gently pressing his lips against her slightly bulging abdomen, pushing in just so, and removing them with a barely audible *smooch*. He heard her sigh faintly, along with what sounded like air slowly escaping a balloon in a controlled fashion, coming from her lower half.

She couldn’t have...

The furniture thought as it chanced a glance at her face to read the situation, and saw her staring right back at him, eyes wide, a slight blush on her cheeks, grinning from ear to ear.

When the smell of boiled eggs mixed with rotten vegetables hit, the furniture forgot for a moment that it was no longer human, and reacted with a grimace and sudden gag, knowing without a doubt about what she just did.

“Continue, now, but let’s change the view for you.” Beatrice ignored his reaction and turned so that he was now facing her backside.

Still in disbelief but forcing himself to do as he was told or face worse punishment, he began taking her skirt off to fully reveal her bottom cheeks and plain white panties with frills along the edges. They hugged her perfectly, and regardless of what just happened, he couldn’t help but stare for a second.

Unfortunately, this was long enough for her to notice.

The heel of her left shoe rammed itself between the legs of her new furniture faster than humanly possible. A gasp was heard as the air was knocked out of him, both from the shock, and the lightning bolt that traveled from his balls and up his spine.

“As furniture, there is no reason for you to delay your commands. Especially as a result of that thing between your legs reacting to any part of my body. Understood?”

Battler was doubled-over, heaving out, attempting to control the pain. Fearing further retaliation, he moaned out a sound of acknowledgment as his eyes began to water.

“*cackle*cackle*cackle*cackle*! Yes, that look suits you. Keep your face the way it is from now on if you truly wish to please me. Now fetch me my dress. Oh but first, press your face, right. here.” The witch put a hand on her hip, thrusting it out, while the other pointed at the middle of her rear.

Confused and in pain, Battler immediately obliged, that kick serving as a lesson to not delay or disobey anymore. He gingerly pressed his face into her behind, just enough to feel his nose touching her hole through the fabric and have the rest of his face squished by two soft, pliable mounds.

“Goood. Know that this is not a kindness, however. Hah-hah-hah-hah-*hnnngh!*” Her laugh cut short into a strain as her face twisted. Battler already feared this was the reason for her command and instinctively held his breath starting from the moment he pressed his face into her.

He felt her anus push out against his nose, then...

*SLAM*

The wind was knocked out of him as he felt her shoe ram itself between his legs yet again, while a hand kept his head pressed between her cheeks.

FSSSSSSSSSSPP-SPpt-SPLPTT

A warm explosion of rancid air washed over his face at the same time he was forced to draw breath from having the rest forced out of his lungs. It went straight into his nose and down his throat, this second time being too much for him to bear.

“AHHHH!! What is wrong--*COUGH*cough*--with you!?” Battler shouted out in response. He would take physical pain any day, but this? This was inhumane. This was disgusting. The smell consumed his senses. Like old vegetables mixed with a hint of feces, his nose burned and he could swear his throat tightened up. He’d never imagined beyond his wildest nightmares that she would force him to smell her gas of all things. She might have been an evil witch, but he still thought that she was an attractive woman on the outside! Weren’t women supposed to value cleanliness? Weren’t they supposed to be embarrassed by something like this?

“It’s...it’s not right! What the hell are you doing!?”

*WHAM*

Battler received a backhand across his face for his answer.

AH-HAH-HAH-HAH!” The witch cackled, grabbing her furniture’s head and grinding its nose up and down her crack.

Those last words sent a chill down Battler’s spine. She wouldn’t possibly do that, there was no way!

“I know you’re thinking that I wouldn’t possibly do that, but clearly you need a lesson in just how serious I am.” Beatrice stopped grinding him against the fabric of her panties but did not let up her grip.

After what felt like an eternity, he felt her push out again, but this time there was no noxious blast of air. He heard her straining, until a small sound was heard--

spllpt-*crckkk*

“Inhale. Now. Then take these soiled garments off of me.”

He inhaled, and nearly vomited on the spot. She confirmed for him about what she just did, but he would have been able to tell without any kind of truth, red or otherwise. She felt him retreat slightly and pushed his face in harder in response. His nose sank into something warm and soft, and his tears started to flow freely. This couldn’t be happening, how could this actually be happening?

Beatrice finally let up and shoved him away from her onto his back. She waved her pipe, and golden butterflies took the form of a leash in her hand, and solidified to make just the same object.

“Put this on. We are going to the banquet once you clean me up, and this is the only suitable dress for you.”

“Where do you think you’re going?” The leash tugged Battler backwards as he started to crawl towards the open door, assuming they were heading down to the banquet. Confused about what else she could possibly want from him after being forced to smell her worst scents, and now completely nude and exposed besides a single chain leash. Exasperated, he turned around to crawl back to her feet.

“I said it’s time for the banquet, and we can’t have you starving during our grand entrance, can we? The food down there isn’t for the likes of an incompetent failure like yourself!” Beatrice yanked on Battler’s chain pulling him up so that his face was pressed against her lower abdomen, her other hand pulling his head back by the hair so she could look him in the eyes to see the moment that his dim-witted mind finally comprehends what was about to happen.

“Lucky for you, I’ve been suffering for your sake the past 24 hours, all to ensure that you would get your own, personal meal, win or lose, and that it would be ready in time.” She subtly moved her hand from his hair to gently stroke her abdomen next to his cheek. As if on cue, it let out a low, bubbling growl, and her smirk deepened. “I’ll give you one last hint in red if it isn’t perfectly clear to you yet. I’ve already made you smell your upcoming feast.”

There it was, the moment his eyes went wide and his pupils constricted showing his understanding of a horrible truth. His mouth agape, he froze at her words, unable to believe she would subject him to something like that. That vile, that degrading, that disgusting. He would rather be killed and brought back repeatedly than this, no...there was no way she was implying what he thought. Wouldn’t such a thing be equally degrading to her? To actually have another person...see her in such a vulnerable state, to smell and--gods, nearly gagging at the thought--consume her waste? He tried to fight back with logic.

“You can’t be serious. You’re not the kind of person that would let anyone else see them do something like that! I won’t believe it!” Battler croaked out through grit teeth and a forced smirk, even with a collar pulling on his windpipe.

“*cackle*cackle*cackle*...! You think such a thing would be degrading or embarrassing for me? Did I not already establish at the start, how I feel nothing, even when stripping in front of you? You’re nothing but my furniture now! Should one be embarrassed each time they use the toilet? Does one think about their porcelain throne gazing up at them while they expel into it? The only degradation to be felt would be the furniture itself, if it could still somehow feel human emotions, human senses, retaining their sentience, fully aware of everything! His smirk faded and any composure he had left cracked.

“Calm down, it can’t be that bad, can it? After all, aren’t I your type? A busty blonde using you as she wishes? I’ll let you in on a secret that you never asked for, but in his youth, Kinzo asked for this very treatment at one point! *cackle*cackle*! Like grandfather, like grandson! Maybe if you spun the chessboard around, you could put yourself in his shoes and gain some enjoyment out of it! *cackle*cackle*cackle*cackle..!” Beatrice pushed Battler onto his back, and waved her pipe to have her dress vanish into a cloud of beautiful golden butterflies. She was now completely nude, towering over Battler like a succubus. She walked over to stand right above his head, looked down for a moment to cherish his fear, and slammed herself down on his mouth, facing him so that she could enjoy his expressions during the ordeal.

“Hngh..! G-go on...use that chessboard logic fast now. Understand your Grandfather’s point of view for your own sake!! You’d better do it fa- ungh...”

fsssssssht-*SPLLLPT*

Beatrice involuntarily cut off mid-sentence as a pressure cramp forced her to bear down, her hole starting to balloon out against Battler’s open lips, releasing a burning fart that ended up splattering his face. The smell of her impending movement quickly pervaded the room, causing a moan of pain from the new furniture now fashioned as a temporary toilet.

“Ungh...I need to...hey, start cleaning my ass, now.” Beatrice said as the pressure started to mount. She would stretch this humiliation to the farthest it could go before she let go of all restraint and allowed her body the release it so desired. When she felt nothing in response, she reached back and squeezed his testicles. Hard. That was the only threat required.

It was almost orgasmic when she first felt the tip of his tongue slide across her strained, quivering hole. The nerves were so lit up from the exertion of keeping everything in, that the warm and wet slickness which dragged itself across that opening almost caused her to lose control and push out right then and there. But she held it.

“T-there, furniture. Make sure...I’m completely clean before I soil you.” Her left eye twitched slightly as she forced herself to keep composure in the face of such perverse feelings. His tongue flattened out and dragged itself back and forth across her bulging hole, sending waves of pleasure that changed her breathing. She thought about how he must be tasting the remnants of that last expulsion, her mind becoming lost in the torture.

“Clean me. Make sure...you get inside as well. Do it fully and completely.” She soon felt his tongue straighten out in order to prod the middle of her entrance. She had to go so badly that she felt it might come out right then and there if she even let it open for a second so she could feel his tongue wiggle in. She said these next words to herself, and to give her slave the dread of what would come next:

“So be it, like Grandfather, like Grandson in all things, even...*NGHH* when it comes to poor gambles!!”

She pushed out, feeling immense pressure wanting to both go out and press in. In that instant, the warm wetness of his tongue forced itself into her rectum, and she knew by the panicked cry which danced across her ears, that it had met resistance. She looked down, and saw nothing but wide-eyed fear, and his breath was now quick and erratic.

She felt herself start to drip from the scene she had crafted. Everything was in place, and all the actors were right where they needed to be. As her furniture’s nose started to become slick with her juices, she commanded him to remove his tongue.

“Good furniture. Now here’s...your just desserts! Kya-hah-hah-hah!!!!” She said as she tightened her stomach muscles and pursed her lips in concentration.

Instead of another fart, her knot stayed in its expanded state. She relaxed and sat full weight, making it impossible for Battler to close his mouth even if he wanted to. The bliss she started to feel was indescribable. She felt her hole begin to widen, and she felt the mass of feces start to crawl past the exit, with nowhere for it to go but the back of her new living furniture’s throat.

Her head became numb. She was actually starting to poop, and everything else lost her focus besides this one primal act that took her entire attention. The first of Battler’s screams started as his tongue accidentally licked the tip of the mass, which only made her shiver, and give another guttural push in response. She felt the futile resistance he put up even now, his tongue desperately trying to push it back, the disgusting, sticky bitterness overwhelming his taste buds being the lesser evil, rather than having it completely fill his mouth only to be forced into his stomach.

She toyed with him. She collected herself and clenched ever so slightly, letting him use his tongue to try and push it back up her ass. She felt him have very minor success, feeling some pressure moving back against her still quivering opening. She would let him think he could save himself. She would let him calm down for just a moment. Then, when she’d reached the limit of how long she could entertain his hopes, she only said one thing to him.

“Battler.” She readied herself and rested both hands on his head, preventing all movement, looking at his tear-streaked face still struggling to keep her shit away from his mouth. He was sobbing, looking for any shred of mercy in her eyes. She stroked his cheek like a mother comforting a child, and for a moment, he calmed down.

“Eat it.” Suddenly, with intent and force behind it, she bore down and gave an earnest push to finally go without any restraint. Unable to even rock his head out of the way, his mouth forced open by her full weight resting on it so much that he felt his jaw would break, the turd he had worked so hard to push back up blew past his tongue and rammed the back of his throat. He tightened his neck muscles in another desperate bid to prevent the unthinkable. However, with Beatrice now trying to shit without restraint, his still roomy cheeks offered the path of least resistance, as he felt them fill out with a warm, soft, bitter mess. He cried out once more, hoping to find a shred of compassion, but instead saw her with her eyes closed, just straining.

He wanted to vomit. His mind became a blur of raw desire to gag and vomit and empty everything that was filling his mouth right now. As he looked back at her, the contrast of such a beautiful face, even now, making something so vile, caused his head to spin. He felt light-headed and dizzy as he actively started to choke on her shit. Noticing this, Beatrice became angry with him and moved her hands to his now bulging cheeks.

“*cackle*cackle*cackle! You don’t get to die now! I still need to show off my new furniture, and our guests are being kept waiting now, all because of how poorly you’re performing as a *grunt*, toilet! If you think this is torture, I have a thousand more things to make you wish this was your only job for the rest of eternity! *cackle*cackle*cackle*cackle!!”

With that, she pressed in on his cheeks. With nowhere else for it to go, her still sitting full weight on his mouth, he was forced to swallow. He thought he would die right there, choking on her waste, but miraculously it went down and he could still breathe. A loud ringing began to fill his ears, and spots filled his vision. The last thing he remembered as he willingly blacked out, was her insane grin and the overwhelming taste of her waste.

He was roused from unconsciousness by a hard kick to the side, and a voice telling him to start walking on all fours. Was all of that just a dream? No, soon after he realized they were still in Kinzo’s study, the leftover taste of what had happened lingering in his mouth. He gagged, but was stopped by a hand around his throat.

“Listen. You will not vomit. It was hard work getting the rest down while you were dead, but you forget I’m the endless witch. Now that you’re good and full with a part of me inside of you, you will present yourself beautifully to my guests as my absolute slave and toy. There is no more pride or dignity you can have after what you just did. You will walk--crawl! And you will praise my name on this very special night, or face even worse hells. Is this understood?”

She let go of his throat and let him suck in air and nod vigorously. And with that, the night of horrors to celebrate the witch’s revival would begin.

There is no definite answer. Could've just gotten blown away. Though some theorize Gohda may have used it for garnishing in his dessert back in Episode 1. The Episode 8 manga also shows him pruning it away.

On the subject of dropping the series, I think you've made a poor choice, but it's not like I can force you to enjoy the series. If disappointment over the solutions to some logic puzzles was enough to make you lose interest in the entirety of the story then there's nothing for it.

Over dramatic is obviously subjective, but I definately wouldnt consider it exaggerated. Of course it sounds such when you boil it down to the summary, but how it actually plays out is miles better and is believable and fitting according to the characters. Calling Sayo a tranny is fairly disingenuous as well, I mean, Sayo was raised as a girl and had no idea. More interesting than "why did it disappear" is "what did it mean that we had this weird fucking scene every episode".
In that regard, the answer seems to be that Maria gave the rose some kind of symbolic significance, staked something on whether it lived or died - similar to how she embodied her mothers love in Sakutarou, "enshrining" the certainty that she was cared for, with the downside that she also made her belief dependent on the existence of that physical thing. As for what exactly the rose represented to her, it would have to be something important enough to warrant making it a central scene, but it was never formally stated what that was.

I was genuinely surprised that Ryukishi never had another character save Maria's Rose with magic by placing Georges candy-wrapper on a different rose. Seemed like the obvious, intended resolution really.

and also based on the tea party of EP7. Yasu is a girl who lost her fertility after Natsuhi's attempt to murder her (In that case, it's even more fortunate for her to survive instead). And it's possible that she was grown up in a gender-neutral manner.
Lion's gender is never confirmed and it can be suspected that Lion's gender is faked.

I'm pretty sure most of the trannyposting is a result of people hating Yasu, not the other way around. Because of the clash between ep1-4 Beato, who's a fun, theatrical melodramatic homicidal maniac with some kind of grudge against Battler and Battlers willingness to forgive that person when he understands her, you'd think that Beatrice must have had some redeeming motive for what she did, something that makes her an "idiot" rather than a bad person (like if Maria murdered everyone believing that they'd finally find peace and happiness in the literal afterlife), but instead it turned out that Beatrice had a lot of people who genuinely cared for her and who she could have talked to, and her motive for murdering her entire family is ridiculous only in the sense that it shows her to be a horribly selfish, irresponsible person.

Beatrice may have had other options, but she was so full of doubt and self-hatred that she couldn't bring herself to pursue them. Not really. The biggest issue from a mystery standpoint is that it's kinda cheap for the culprit to be able to manipulate other people into going along with their plans via bribery and such. Sure, if you literally interpret 1-4 as "It's just fanfic", then Beatrice is innocent and there's nothing for Meta-Battler to forgive. But at that point you're throwing out the logic of the story entirely. It's the equivalent of a Sherlock Holmes story where Holmes is the culprit, but at the start of the third act Watson admits that this is just what Sherlock *would* have done if he'd been a homicidal maniac, but he's not really. In fact, Watson thinks Sherlock is a pretty great guy, and we're free to imagine what kind of person Watson would consider "a great guy" and project those characteristics onto Sherlock while disregarding the way he was characterized in the first two acts where ever it becomes inconvenient.

We have the authors guarantee that "the gamemaster can only make pieces do things they would do in reality". That's the premise that holds Umineko together as a cohesive story in spite of it being metafictional, and abandoning it is anti-mystery.

yes. Yasu never really went through a rebellious phase and tried to hold her parental figures responsible for her mistakes. I thought Beato became a witch by guaranteeing that the roulette would take place "with certainty". Isn't backing out at the last minute a breach of contract or something? Well, whatever. If a fluke universe where Yasu had second thoughts did exist, it'd be the equivalent of Takano deciding to turn her life around in one fragment out of a million - it would not be representative of her character. Only this one possibility would be redeemed, not Takano as a metaphysical many worlds spanning entity.

Most of those would never work.
Liking Higurashi more is a valid opinion and only gets people going when it goes on to insult Umineko in other ways.
Asking for mystery explanations will either get you a "read the manga" or a wall of text trying to help you understand.
I don't think I've ever heard anyone claim the anime was better. I feel more pity for animeonlys than animosity.
Turning off sound is more a question of "why would you go through the trouble?" rather than "how dare you!"
Kanon/Shannon slashfic isn't that popular to begin with and even then can still function with simple workarounds like alternate universe or Meta World.
Masturbating to lewds of a female Shannon doesn't suddenly become gay once it's revealed that she's canonically male, so there's nothing to really get upset about there.
Insulting Ryukishi's art will only piss off OG purists.

At some point you need to start distinguishing between Yasu and Beatrice.
For example, Yasu (human) writes a hypothetical message bottle scenario (Turn) in which part of the solution involves Shannon killing George (seemingly after reaching out to him and being rejected). Then after drowning herself and ending up in the Meta World with Battler, Beatrice (witch) takes this scenario and uses it as the basis for one of her gameboards, which she shows to Battler while putting on a show of being a cruel witch for him to defeat.
Beato cackling madly while cutting off George's final "I love you" to Shannon doesn't equate to Yasu holding similar animosity towards him.

>If a fluke universe where Yasu had second thoughts did exist
That's not even an if. Yasu had tons of second thoughts in every universe. The whole reason for sending letters urging them to solve the epitaph is because part of them wanted to be stopped.

From her POV It doesn't matter that they're sorry, because they ruined her life for Kinzo's sake. Beatrice sending money to Nanjo and Kumasawa's relatives is her small way of compensating them.

The point of the conversations between Battler and Virgilia was Battler trying to understand Beatrices motives and making a decision about whether he could forgive her. The question is "is Beatrice responsible for the deaths of Battlers family? is she a murderer whose crimes should be exposed and who should be brought to justice", and somehow Ryukishi seems to want his readers to go along with Battler in forgiving her, in placing her "above" people who kill to inspire fear, for revenge or for the sake of pleasure, once we understand her motives. I never got this impression, I think it's just you anon. Umineko never asks the reader to forgive any of its characters, only to try and understand. Also your comparison is really off. A more apt comparison would be Sherlock dying when another person was murdered, and everyone things that he did it and then committed suicide. The police tell the media how he would of done it, tv shows do dramatic re-enactments, and Watson cant deny the evidence so he goes along with it. After discovering the corpses in the chapel Rosa sent genji and shannon to check on kinzo, not seeing them return Rosa goes to kinzo's studio, after this she returns to battler admitting that she has seen kinzo and that in his opinion shannon and genji remained all time in the studio to write documents for him.
But we all know that kinzo does not exist so why rosa lie if she isnt the culprit?
As usual erikantrice takes the smallest details and provides an elegant solution.
The solution is in the alibi given by rosa to genji and shannon, why saying that they were writing documents for kinzo?
why not just say kinzo had checked them all the time?
Simple when Rosa went to check on genji and shannon she found out that kinzo didn't exist and she use this for her advantage.
Rosa forced genji and shannon to write a document where kinzo left everything to her.
So that explains why Rosa lied about seeing kinzo without her being a culprit and also explains why she's so worried about the servants, if they lied about kinzo's death why not lie about the murders.

The original manuscript had illustrations drawn by Carroll and he really captured the beauty of his waifu. She looks just like in the photos.

They probably changed her for an aryan blonde in the published version because 19th century society was racist against gypsie lolis.

You may already know that but just in case, there are two, if no more, versions of the sountrack and the one with tracks named "mangagamer track xx" etc. is about two times shorter than the second one. I mean the total length of all tracks.

Did Takano really examine Mion's pathetic butt-naked corpse because she was curious about her tattoo?

Or did she only say that to humiliate Mion?

Mion's butt-naked corpse might be shameful but certainly not pathetic.
