Is it impossible to get the bgm working on AliceSoft's older games?
I have tried with Kichikou Rance and Daiakuji but I simply can't get it working. I have tried a bunch of stuff with the cd's but no matter how I mount it or which settings I choose for the "system 39" thing it does not play the bgm.

Have anyone of you encountered the same problem before? and do you know how to fix it?

The drive with the CD needs to have it's letter set before any other CD drive, because it will only check the first one. It was something like that, I forget exactly what I did to get BGM working.

DOS V/J is a DOS. A very old command line used for japanese computers. You would need a blank computer, and try to install it.

I forgot what tweaks you had to do in order to make it work correctly. It's been too long.

OR JUST PLAIN USE PC98 EMULATORS!

What does this say?
I keep getting this message whenever I try starting it with a mounted CD. I do get another message when I try to start it without a CD though, but that is probably just a message asking for the CD.

Anyone tried Vanish! ? I was kind of disappointed by the amount of breasts.

Just installed Kichikuou and the only problem I had was that the title screen / alice screens were black but running setupnt.exe fixed that.
CD from retropc and both system3.5 and system3.9 work fine.

I found out what problem I had with Daiakuji
Apparently this is my issue

And this was their sollution
"CD-ROMのオーディオトラック（基本的にはトラック２以降）がＣＤ再生ソ
フトやＣＤプレーヤーなどで再生出来るかご確認下さい。
CD-ROMドライブ以外で再生出来れば、CD-ROMドライブの問題でＣＤからの情報が
正確に読み出せていないという事になります。

The game was not able to acquire the CD audio track in the first CD drive. Depending on the version of System 3.x engine, you might be able to specify which CD drive the game should read the audio from.

If you are using a tool to mount a CD image, make sure the tool is configured to be able to playback CD audio tracks.

AliceSoft's older titles all still play their BGMs fine for me.
