Oh hey, I have an answer to this! Was at Anime North in kig last year with my sister, but she was elsewhere in the con most of my time, so I was alone most of the time.

Was fine. I remember my first thoughts coming out of the hotel room being; "Will people give nasty stares? Is this dress too revealing? What happens if someone wanted to start a conversation?".

Then I remembered it was an anime convention. The worse that happened was just my efforts to walk around a wide and crowded area. Everything and everyone else turned out fine~ Trying to mime out "yes" when people asked for a photo was funny as hell :D
