Yo, /jp/, Touhou newfag here.

I've been spending a lot of time here in /jp/ lately, and naturally I was exposed to much Touhou. I downloaded and played a few of the games, but I'm really wanting to know about the story. I can't read moonrunes, so I was wondering if there was any way for me to read about the story without having to download a translation pack for each game (if such a thing exists) and play all the way through all of them.

Check TouhouWiki. It has all of the translated storylines, as well as links to translation patches if you're interested in using them.

The Touhou plot itself is shit. If you want to get into Touhou's plot try reading a few doujins and/or watching a few Touhou flashes on youtube. ZUN (the creator of Touhou) made template-ish personalities. Said templates were eventually refined into deeper personalities by the Touhou community. The whole point of the Touhou project is the doujin community that shapes it. Separate Touhou from its community and it would just be an above average shoot em up game with lolis.

The Touhou community is the Japanese equivalent to the GNU/Linux communities. One last thing, don't say "newfag" on /jp/. It's considered taboo here.

OP here. Not a troll, bro. Came to /jp/ about 2 weeks ago with some questions about visual novels. People were nice so I stuck around, learned about Touhou.
