Herro eberyone.

Finally some drama I can recommend.
Great stuff- quality acting, fun, awesome, as always I appreciate when viewer is not treated as retard that needs flashback scenes every minute. They have an ikemen as one of main protagonists (it is more of a slice of life than a story of single character), but he actually does great job acting. I am impressed.
Japanese is perfectly every_day_family_casual with some keigo here and there- ideal for practice IMHO.

Music is just OK for me, but I suppose other people might really like it. First episode could be better (I mean it is not bad, but from second on it gets much more interesting).

Highly recommended, especially after series of poor dramas that I got to check recently.

They almost all have the same plot but is there one which is widely considered to be the best?

I liked watching Amachan and I'm looking for something to watch during my lunch break at work so it has to be under 24min in length.

First ep. of 知らなくていいコトwas a pretty scattered. Honestly not anything in there that held my interest; there were two 'big reveal' moments but both of them were pretty meh, MC's dad being Keanu Reeves (seriously) or a serial killer, but neither of those matter.

I watched Kotaki Kyoudai to Shikuhakku. Loved it, probably gonna be my favorite drama this winter.
I'm planning to watch 10 no Himitsu but I'll wait for Hamura Akira to start and watch them both and pick the one that interests me more.

I watched the first episode of 10 no Himitsu. It was very fast paced and they made sure to reference the mystery or the secret that will shape the whole drama multiple of times, probably to make the audience engrossed.
Three things though. The first one is the way they kept referencing the secret was very forced. Secondly unlike any other mysteries I watched, this didn't pique my interest despite the premise being interesting, probably because of the pacing. Lastly Osamu Mukai can't act for shit. His ham acting was so frustrating and single-handedly ruined a potentially enjoyable drama. It was as if he was forced into taking this role.
I'm not sure if I'm gonna come back for the 2nd episode next week but overall it left me with a somewhat bad aftertaste.

Koi wa tsuzuku... It's a typical romcom. Reminds me of Rich man, Poor woman with their characters. If you liked that show, you probably will like this too. The episode is too long though (1hour). Sato Takeru and the female lead have nice speaking voices. lol
Panda wa warau... It's a crimebusting show with a female "batman" character. First crime they solved wasn't really interesting. Shiraishi Sei is here. Too bad, she looks like a minor character.
Kotaki Kyoudai... pretty good show. I like these shows where characters solve random problems. I liked the first guest character and Yoshine Kyoko's airhead character is cute.
SEDAI wars (ep1 and 2) Amusing and funny. It's a scifi battle royale parody with pop culture references. I will look forward to watching it every week.
Ship of Theseus still hasn't premiered.

It's been years since the last time I watched a non-depressing drama but with actual great cast and not shitty idols and cute faces that can't act for shit. Takito Kenichi is such a phenomenal actor. I hope it gets subbed so more people can watch it, the first episode was fun.

Yep. Especially comedy shows and late night variety shows. Some dorama also had nudity as a kind of sales point.

A lot of the biggest comedians used to have shows that had whole segments consisting of groping naked porn stars. Shimura Ken's Bakatonosama used to have lots of scenes like that. It stopped in the Heisei era.

After this week's episode I can finally say that Karera wo Mireba Wakaru Koto is a pretty good drama. If you're looking for a drama with a mature story and heart-pounding situations, give it a watch.

Between this drama and Kotaki Kyoudai, this season is shaping up to be great. Also Hamura Akira aired yesterday and I'm wondering how was it. I only watch two dramas per season but I might give it a watch.

I've only seen 2 japanese movies that were defiant in meaning and catharsis in the last 5 years. Those movies were also graphic, which is not complimenting to a proper palette for viewers.

Japanese film has not offered much in the last 10 years and I've pretty much had enough of it. I'll keep searching and looking into Japanese cinema from the late 60s into the early 2000's. That's about it.

1.) The World of Kanako - deep narative on the patriarchy in Japan and its nessesity to man up. A universal message if you look at it broadly. I don't put value on graphic content anymore. Film can be done without it. Regardless the movie was shocking with meaning. It was a 2014 film. So...6 years ago.

How about Shin Gojira? That was 4 years ago.
A really stylishly directed new incarnation of gojira that recalls images of the Fukishima disaster similarly to how the original recalled Hiroshima/Nagasaki. As well as the amazing kaijuu action there's lots of compelling satire on bureaucracy and government handling of catastrophes. Amazing music also.
It's probably my favourite Japanese film from the past 5 years.

I don't like the wave of geinin youtubers either, but Egachan is the one everybody was waiting for. He's a popular comedian who kind of lost his venue and not because people got bored of him. He was a big star for quite a number of years, but he doesn't get booked on TV anymore because his act draws too many complaints from クレーマー.
