I read/listened to Haworthia recently and it seems to be the key to solving several of Ciconia's mysteries.
First off, 8MS is a translated form of the original Organics Automata. This much seems pretty obvious when you consider that they were desinged to perform similar tasks and the origins of 8MS are unknown, as evidenced by how no one can find the people responsible for creating the 8MS once they start breaking down.

Going even further, It's likely that all wisdom is ancient technology from Haworthia's race.
It might seem like Haworthia takes place in the far future, possibly being the future that the three kings are trying to prevent, but there are too many references to prehistoric continents like Laurentia, Gondwanaland and Pangaea.
Not to mention, their projected average temperature seems to be referencing the ice age.
Pretty much everything points to Haworthia taking place on Earth, from the nitrogen content in the air falling to 78%, to the weather and temperature changes, and to the color of the ocean becoming blue.

If this is true, then it means that all life on Earth came from Organics Automata. Kyou and Suzu, the two Organics Automata girls, seem strange in this case though since there shouldn't be any kind of humanoid life this far back. However, they seem to be an exception. Just going off their designs, one represents the land and the other the sea. They could be guardians watching over life on Earth as it develops or something like that. It's not really clear. What is clear is that these two aren't the norm for life here.

So what does this have to do with Ciconia? The people that left Earth in search of a new home are most likely "They."
Haworthia's race can't stand Earth's natural conditions, like UV rays, changing seasons or even slight variations in temperature. Their ideal world is the one that Ciconia's was becoming. Right now they're drifting through space in cryosleep searching for the right planet for them. Of course, they'll never find it since a planet like that doesn't exist. That is unless technology on Earth develops to the point where it can become paradise for them once again.

What happens when they come back to Earth? Who knows? Whatever it is, it's bad enough that killing billions of people is a better alternative.
"That planet we once loved, which turned into hell for us, is paradise for them."
The reverse might also be true. Paradise for them, could be the machine hell Miyao saw.

This is all speculation of course but there has to be some connection here besides just Haworthia's songs being used in Ciconia. When the first two lines in Haworthia are “This planet has died.”“No, it’s probably been dead for a long time now.”it tells me there's something there.

At any rate, you can read the booklet and listen to the tracks yourself here if you haven't already.

It's not a fan translation, it's the shitty old official translation (not that the new ones are that much better anyway).

Hogurashi is severely lacking in fan translations. There was a good one back in the day but it was stopped permanently when MG acquired the rights in 2009 and shat out their horrible version. The fan translation was stopped in the middle of arc 2 and never continued. Beyond that, only the Saikoroshi arc in Rei has a proper fan patch. Everything else in the series is either untranslated or a machine translated mess.

MG translation hasn't been too bad. Not sure how much it deviates from the original writing but there's only been a couple of misspellings and grammar issues. Maybe 1-2 per chapter. The only problem I have with them is that the releases have been so slow. It seems like they've been prioritizing shittier h games rather than getting the good stuff out.

It does suck that they removed the minigames. Played a bit of them on the vita version and they seemed alright, not something essential I would say, but its shows laziness on MG's part. The removal of Ryukishi commentary is also shitty, they're pretty damn short too so it doesn't make sense why they're only in answer arcs. Anti-loli shit was needed for it to get on steam. Other than that UI and engine has been stable for me.

I still can't believe Satoko canonically ran around naked with her awkward preteen body exposed for everyone to see at the end of arc 3. Not that there was anyone around that early in the morning, but still.

It's sad how far gone her mind is that point. The normal Satoko would be traumatized for life if she was forced to escape from her burning house while she's taking a bath and have her developing human body burned into everyone's eyes. She wouldn't want to look at her friends' faces ever again. Spending any amount of time with them would make her feel awkward and she wouldn't be able to pull off her ojou-sama persona or tell any jokes without being fully aware that everyone has seen her naked. You need dignity to joke around.

Her shame and awkwardness would be super obvious and it would make her look even more pathetic in her friends' eyes, as they alternate between pitying her and being kind of turned on by the memory of her nude body. They can basically strip her at any time just by remembering it. Imagine how Satoko feels, knowing that her friends are aware of her shame and pity her. Pathetic! But they are also kinda glad that they got to see her unmentionables. Lewd!

And yet, arc 3 Satoko is so scared shitless that she doesn't even care about her pride and lets Keiichi see her bare arse without covering herself. She had to make a conscious choice to abandon her dignity because of a perceived life-threatening danger. That's kinda lewd. It's not like she's unaware of her butt-naked state. She knows she looks absolutely pathetic, but her mind is overwhelmed and she can't afford to worry about that when her life is in danger. If Satoko had known a month earlier that she'd eventually be forced to make the choice to abandon her human dignity, she probably wouldn't have believed it.

It's canon. That's how she looks in the original art and any decent adaptation.

https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/201709.php

Ryuukishi takes boobs seriously and always makes them important. Satoko doesn't just have preteen buds, she literally has small tits like a young middle schooler. This detail can be observed as soon as we meet her in Onikakushi, and it foreshadows her fucked up family history and the fact that her mother kept switching husbands nonstop, meaning that Satoko lacked a proper father figure for most of her life.

He also uses boobs in Himatsubushi to hint at the characters' canon ages and also cleverly reuse sprites to get around the budget issue. Rika and Mion appear here, five years earlier, with their regular sprites. And it doesn't look off because Rika is flat and short in both time periods (meaning she's an underdeveloped preteen in 1983). Mion's sprite having breasts is no issue because she's supposed to be 12 in Himatsubushi, so it makes total sense. The original sprites are vague enough that you can tell Mion is meant to have big tits but you can also look at her sprite and assume they are kinda small compared to her weird R07 body. This is genius because it makes the sprite work for both 12yo and 17yo Mion, while also revealing her intended age through visuals.

He goes a step further and makes tons of boob jokes in Umineko, only to make Shannon's tits eextremely important to the mystery. I don't need to explain this part. There's even a panel in the manga where Beatrice is surprised by her tits after the web of red scene, which hints at her real form being completely flat.

Higanbana never states which grade the characters are in, but the presence of younger kids that can't understand the "evil intent" of animal abusers, and the fact that the lolis have budding breasts in their sprites, makes it obvious they are all in the final grade of elementary school. Ryuukishi does it again, without saying a word. I've seen people read the entire story thinking they were high schoolers or some shit and it baffles me. Didn't Ryu make their ages clear with the sprites and their behavior, you silly goats?

RGD is all about the tits. ALL about the tits. All the best characters have big tits, the Battler expy is here grabbing tits, and Primavera only exists because women can sell their bodies and make money while men remain poor and unemployed.

Ciconia looks promising in the tits department so far. Plenty of characters have amazing racks and one of the themes of the story is birth/motherhood.

>The original sprites are vague enough that you can tell Mion is meant to have big tits but you can also look at her sprite and assume they are kinda small compared to her weird R07 body.
This is so true. Not only are the expressions vague and can be used in multiple different situations to convey different emotions, the bodies themselves are also super vague.

All that subtlety is lost with all the other sprite sets because they just make their own version of Ryukishi's expressions without making them vague enough to fit all instances where that expression is used. So you have MG Mion looking bizarrely developed in Arc 4 or Rena looking flustered in a situation where it doesn't make any sense (while the original looked perfect because her flustered face was vague and could also convey other emotions). It's a copy-paste job that doesn't pay any attention to how the new sprites work in context. That's the big issue with them.

It kinda happens in Umineko too, although to a much less extent. For example, Shannon's basic smiling face is not only used to portray genuine smiles, but also resignation or maturity when the scene calls for it. The PS3 version of that same smile is less vague and you can't really see anything other than an earnest, innocent smile there. So when the exact same expression is used to convey those other emotions in a scene, it doesn't quite work because her face looks genuinely happy no matter what. This didn't happen with the original sprite, which has enough subtlety that you could look at the exact same facial expression in different contexts and get different vibes from it. That's what Ryuukishi intended and the new artists failed to replicate. They just made their own versions and used them in the same places as the original, but the expressions only work for their first appearances and not for different contexts.

I won't even talk about Maria because they got absolutely everything wrong with her faces.

Wow, I lost track of the point I wanted to get across. I was gonna say that Rika's original body is vague enough you could see her as a toddler or as short loli. The updated art is more human in its proportions and loses that vagueness. That's why they were forced to make a mini-Rika sprite for that arc.

She does appear in the OG. And I think her spirite works perfectly fine because of all the things I described above.

The one you posted looks a bit off to me because she really shouldn't look so damn young. She's supposed to be 12, not 8. It's not even about the lack of breasts, it's also her general body proportions. It looks off to me. She looks younger than present time Rika, even though she's supposed to be slightly older (which her dialogue/behavior in that TIP and her original sprite make perfectly clear).

Her original sprite works because she's not 10. She's a tween and her sprite is vague enough that you could interpret her as looking 12 or looking 17. Seriously, look at the OG sprite for all the club members. They are vague enough that Rena's sprite could be used during her flashbacks and it wouldn't seem out of place.

Keiichi is 16.

Satoshi could be Keiichi's age or a year older. Doesn't really matter.

Shmion are almost 17 (stated to be almost a year older than K1 but not quite, more like 9 or 10 months, and Mion is doing her entrance exams after the epilogue).

Rena is 15 (she mentions that her birthday is in April and that she's a year younger than K1 but will be the same age for a while after her birthday).

Satoko is almost 12 (her birthday is after Watanagashi).

Rika is 11. She's just flat and short as fuck. And she acts younger to the point she'd get bullied to death in Higanabana because she's trying WAY too hard to hide her 100 year old personality. This is what makes brainlets assume she's 8 or something even though it's explicitly pointed out that she's faking her cute loli persona to the point it makes her come off as autistic. She has no idea how unnatural it looks, and Rena finds it cute, so she keeps at it.

Irie is... 30-ish.

Takano is 34 because why not. But she's probably a bit younger than that.

Tomitake is in his mid-30s.

Ooishi is 64 or whatever the age of retirement was at the time.

The ages are never stated, but they do mention their birthdays and whether someone is a year older or younger. And if you analyze the Himatsubushi arc, which takes place 5 years earlier, you can find out Mion and Rika's ages by logical deduction. The adults are the only ones whose ages I kinda made up, but it makes sense. And Ooishi's age is logical because he's retiring that year.

Umineko is a lot easier to figure out.

Kinzo is in his late 70s. He was in his late 30s during the flashback.

Krauss is in his early 50s. Natsuhi is stated to be three year younger than Eva, so probably in her very late 40s. Jessica is 18.

Eva and Hideyoshi are probably both 50. George is 23.

Rudolf and Kyrie are in their mid-40s. Battler is 18.

Rosa is in her early to mid 30s. Maria is 9.

Genji is probably around Kinzo's age because they were buddies as kids. So late 70s, not quite 80.

Kumasawa is pushing 80 as someone said in the story.

Yasu is 19 but officially 16 but also 1000.

And Ikuko is probably in her mid to late 20s when she finds Batora.

This. He also has no reason to stop being a fedora tier cunt because he explicitly said that his love for Shannon and jealousy of Battler's loli waifu is what made him change into the man he's now. Dating Shannon also changed him, which can't happen in this world. The George in Lion's world is an impossibility.

Lion's golden hair, voice, androgynous appearance, perfect life and opinions about gender are also an idealization imagined by Yasu, not a real depiction of what "Lion" would've been like without the accident. In reality he would've been a normal male.

The world itself is clearly full of actual magic, golden roses, a meta dude walking around, Shannon and Kanon coexisting with Lion, people remembering the seating order from a different world, etc. And is made up of pieces of different fragments. It's not a proper parallel world, but rather a fantasy. A wishful dream.

The way the world ends according to Bernkastel makes no sense because there's nobody in the underground room to tell Kyrie about the bomb or hand her a 1 billion yen card, which is necessary to make her decide to complete the massacre.

The reason Bern can make Lion's world end like that is because she previously showed them the truth of the catbox (EP7 Tea Party). By exposing that, and by the very nature of the catbox itself, it's guaranteed that Lion's world cannot end well. Not because it makes sense for things to go wrong there, but because his world is an illusion, equivalent to one of Beato's depictions of magic. The world is forced to end in tragedy regardless of logic because the island exploded IRL. Even this fantasy world can't escape the catbox.

And the reason Lion is allowed to escape with Will by simply "not acknowledging that he's been shot" is because his world is a fantasy. Fantasy doesn't have to be restricted by reality, mystery rules, red truth, or the beginning and end of the catbox. That's why Lion can survive and reject Berns bullshit.

Bern is also lying when she says that out of all the fragments Lion only exists in one and is killed by Kyrie. If this were a proper world, ignoring the obvious magic bullshit and inconsistencies, there would be endless alternate versions of it where events happen differently. How can she claim that Lion only exists in this one fragment? How come there are no worlds where Lion exists and nothing happens? It's because Lion isn't a thing. Or at least this idealized Lion, in this fantasy world. Everything about him and his world is fantasy. Not only did it not happen IRL, but in fact this Lion isn't even how the real person would've turned out. He's an idealization by Yasu. He's fantasy by his very nature, and so is his world. That's why Bernkastel can so easily deny his existence in the entire sea of fragments. He's just not a thing. The EP7 world is an illusion. Lion is no different from the seven stakes. But because of that, he doesn't have to listen Bern or be constrained by reality or the truth.

Wait, so Satoko's brain is telling her super pathetic human body "listen up, we gotta grow breasts early so we can attract a male partner who will provide for us and protect us from danger, because it seems we are lacking a male figure right now"? Her brain is unconsciously kicking off puberty early because it notices the absence of a father figure in her life and the anxiety caused by it?

Pathetic! Satoko's human body, barely evolved from the times of cavemen!

Also, Lion is not necessarily male. Sure, the real Lion would been a dude. Too bad he never had a chance to exist.

The idealized Lion we meet in EP7 is an intentionally ambiguous FANTASY character imagine by Yasu, who wasn't too comfortable with their original sex but also was unsure of what gender even felt right to them.

Yasu is an eunuch since they were a baby, so apart from having XY chromosomes that don't really do anything here, they are literally a genderless, underdeveloped, adult-sized prepubescent person with no hormones or physical traits of either sex. They lost their junk as a shapeless baby before their body even began to shape them into either sex.

So it's not really that gay to fuck Shannon. She has no hormones of either sex and no development whatsoever. Even young kids look different depending on their sex. If you saw a cross-dressing 5 year old, you would probably notice small signs he's a male. It would be very convincing, but he'd look slightly different from an actual loli. Shannon, however, has 0% development. She was just a baby at the time, so her original sex didn't really do anything. It's similar to how ALL humans are female in the womb before becoming a male later on during the pregnancy or remaining female until the end.

My point is that female Lion needs more porn because that's the point of the character. The Lion we meet in EP7 is by no means an accurate portrayal of a hypothetical non-castrated Yasu, but rather a fantasy creature like Kinzo's ghost or the Chiesters. Either gender can be valid when it comes to porn or fanart, because this Lion is supposed to be a catbox regardless of the real Lion's gender.

Why do sjws assume that Kinzo violently raped his daughter?

The guy just raised her to genuinely believe in magic at age 20 and groomed her into thinking it's a normal thing to fuck your father figure. She wasn't raped or traumatized by it, whether she liked it or not. It wasn't a big deal for her. She didn't even know that she had a baby.

You can call that "statutory rape" or whatever because Beatrice wasn't mentally equipped to decide anything for herself and got taken advantage of. You can call Kinzo a monster for raising his daughter in a prison and not teaching her critical thinking, making her essentially an invalid. You can call Kinzo a piece of shit for making her pregnant. Or for not thinking about her future after he and his accomplices die of old age.

But seriously, at no point is it ever implied that Kinzo maliciously "raped" his daughter out of lust, or that she was traumatized by the act at all. He has no reason to act that way. And his friends wouldn't keep supporting him if he was clearly harming his daughter.

His actions are immoral because he basically molded Beatrice into becoming the person he desired and didn't let her develop like a normal person. All so he could have a copy of his waifu and love her all over again.

Kinzo violated her human rights and it's fucked up, but he "raped" her and she never felt "raped". It was consensual but in a bullshit way because he raised her without an understanding of what consent even is.

So yeah, Kinzo crippled her mentally just so he could have his perfect waifu that doesn't even know how to doubt and lives in happy ignorance of the real world. That's selfish and immoral, even if that was a happy existence in Kinzo's eyes.

But he didn't technically rape her. She just consented out of ignorance and didn't think much of it afterwards. Sex only damages you physically if you are forced into it. She consented and was fucked gently. And it only damages you mentally if you feel humiliated, forced or used. Which doesn't apply here either because she had no concept of shame associated to sex or nudity. It wasn't a big deal to her.

She wanted to escape with Rosa because she probably felt that Kinzo's love was directed at the wrong person and got really fed up with it. You can't really love an old dude you are not attracted to, no matter how gentle or loving he is. She wanted to be left alone and see the world beyond the fence.

What does Kyrie get out of killing everybody? She's extremely logical, so she wouldn't commit to a nonsense plan.

She has no reason to kill anyone in the gold room because there is no cash card to steal. All she has to do is restrain and turn in the person who shot first.

If there is no cash card prepared by Yasu, all she has is the gold. But that will get buried in the explosion. And if she's not aware of the bomb, why go around killing everyone else if she has no guaranteed way to erase the evidence?

She either saves the gold and gets arrested for mass murder or destroys the gold and gets nothing out of the whole deal. Kyrie wouldn't do something so illogical.

ALL of Erika's sprites in the Steam version had to be redrawn from sratch because Ryuukishi apparently lost the master files of her sprites and couldn't use them to make high resolution versions for the Steam release. It's like when episode 16 of Evangelion got lost and you can tell its bluray version looks much worse than all the others.

So Erika's OG sprites on Steam are technically different from the originals, although you can only tell the difference if you compare them side by side.

witches are created by humans.

Eva-Beatrice= Eva culprit theory.
Eva being the only survivor was immediately accused of the murder, people started making up stories and that's how the witch was born.
the third game was a test for battler\tohya.
most likely he had discovered that eva was alive and the stories about ev culprit so ikuko created a game where eva looked like the culprit so battler to find the truth would have to go beyond appearances.

Bernkastle= Kyrie culprit theory..
After discovery of illegal activities of rudolf and kyrie people began to create stories where kyrie was the real culprit of rokkenjima and so bernkastle was born.
This explains why Bern is so attached to Ange and wants to see her suffer so much, from the very beginning the theory that Kyrie was guilty of ruining Ange's life.

Quite a stretch, Erikanon. We know for sure Evatrice represents the Eva culprit theory, just like Beatrice might represent the witch culprit theory and Black Battler represents the Battler family culprit theory, but making Bernkastel or Lambda be representations of culprit theories too seems like too much. First of all, the patron is broken as soon as the rest are totally obvious and they aren't. And more important in my opinion, they are referred to as a different kind of witches in the narrative itself, aren't they? Shouldn't that mean something?

yes i am not sure about bern and lambda witches createed by humans.
first of all I don't know how to classify lambda.
lambda knows the solution from the beginning and always helps battler and beatrice during the game, she was really rooting for battler to remember yasu.
lambda seems like beato's best friend or at least the only person beatrice could confide in.
for bernkastle is another story, i know very well who could be, the truth that in the seventh game she showed us ,the story that people created when they got bored of eva culprit.
this explains a lot about his relationship with ange and then bern is similar to kyrie.
but I admit that I am dubious this game is called when they cry and "bern" appears in higurashi so say that bern was created in umineko is too risky.

In reality, Shannon is just as much of a made up fantasy character as the other two. She is intentionally written as her own person, unaware of what Kanon or Beatrice might be thinking or planning. But that's just a narration trick just like all the other falsified scenes.

Like, the whole love duel thing has meaning for Shannon and Kanon because they are fictional characters. The narrative portrays them as their own people, so they are totally unaware of the fact that the result of the duel is meaningless because Beatrice is about to kill everyone on October 5th.

The human culprit doesn't care about which one of the two personas "wins" at any point during those two days, because they intend to end it all anyway. Yasu doesn't seriously have any internal conflict over which servant should become her main identity by the time the typhoon seals the island. The characters of Shannon and Kanon care about it, within the fictional narrative, but the actual person acting out these personas and committing the crime is already determined to end it all. That's why Beatrice always wins no matter how much Shannon and Kanon oppose her. In Yasu's script, Beatrice's character is written to be the victor.

"Before this night ends...... I'll grab the culprit by the collar!! UUUUUUUOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH!!!!"

>several scenes earlier, Battler grabbed Kanon by the collar

Come in, it's obvious in hindsight.

The only difficult part is figuring out that the accomplices change in each game and that not all of them know the full extent of the culprit's plan. Some of them are made to believe it's all fake. Like Eva/Hideyoshi or Kumasawa, who get bribed to take part in this "prank".

Hell, EP5 has several levels of depth regarding accomplices:

-George and Jessica have been told it's all an innocent prank and hide in the underground tunnels after vanishing.

-The adults and a reluctant Battler have been bribed by Yasu to help frame Natsuhi in these fake murders to make her confess Kinzo's death and her crimes.

-The servants are in cahoots with Natsuhi but secretly have betrayed her to help Yasu/the adults.

-Erika (her piece, not the meta version) has fallen for the deception and is convinced Natsuhi did it. The detective's authority even makes sense in-universe because Erika is an useful idiot that will help them corner Natsuhi, that's why a the adults let her do as she pleases and investigate to her heart's content.

-And Yasu is a vengeful bastard in this game, who is betraying absolutely everybody, murdered Krauss and plans to kill them all with an explosion after making Natsuhi suffer. Her bribery and promise to expose Natsuhi with this farce is all an excuse. She intends to get people killed for real.

How the fuck are you supposed to figure any of that out about episode 5?

>> No.22788447

>>22788355
EP5 is SUPER obvious looking back. You have shit like Eva smiling smugly when she corners Natsuhi with the receipt in Kinzo's study. Even though her fucking son got murdered hours before. Or Rudolf goofing around and singing during the ladder scene.

It's clear that something is up with these fucking people. As if they know it's all a farce and nobody is really dead, so they occasionally slip up and forget to keep up the grieving act. But on a first read, you totally believe everything and don't pay it much mind.

Same with Eva in EP1, who smiles and debates mystery shit with Battler after they find a bizarre murder scene in the gardening shed. It's obvious that she's been told it's all fake corpses or makeup and has been promised lots of gold if she gets Battler to engage with the mystery and try to solve it. She even gets a romantic scene with Hideyoshi later on where they talk about going in vacation and shit, as if they suddenly didn't have any money troubles, as if six people hadn't just been brutally murdered.

Or Rosa is EP2, who could easily shoot everyone to death but needs to keep up the charade a bit longer because the culprit wants Battler to tackle the mystery. All she can do is take charge and facilitate Yasu's murders as an accomplice, because she can't kill anyone in front of Maria if she plans to escape with the money and rebuild their life. Little did she know that Yasu had killed herself for real in Natsuhi's room and never intended to keep her promise to guide Rosa into Kuwadorian before midnight.

This plot point of Rosa not wanting to kill in front of Maria is even brought back in EP7 when Kyrie is worried about Battler noticing something suspicious and reporting his parents to the authorities later on. It's the same thing.

The PS3 version of EP5 fucked up the man from 19 years ago's voice.

It was supposed to be Yasu during the first phone call and Battler during the other two on the gameboard proper. Both playing the character of this mysterious man. But they made Battler's voice actor incredibly obvious and even inserted him into the first phone call where he didn't belong and contradicts the description of his voice.

>> No.22788484

>>22788355
This also explains how Battler and Erika solved the epitaph even though it was literally their first time seeing it and the adults had been trying for years.

It's not that Battler is some super genius capable of such a feat. His piece was able to "solve it" because the entire thing was part of the murder mystery setup aimed at Erika and Natsuhi. He was fed the solution by Yasu beforehand, the adults went on and on about it to get Erika interested, and Battler basically guided her reasoning the whole time, pretending to figure things out when he already had the solution.

Another interesting thing about EP5 is that Erika's piece never heard about Kanon. He and Shannon spend the whole time together and everyone treats them like a single person. This includes Erika, who was probably seeing Shannon the whole time and Kanon didn't exist for her. Her meta version is aware of all the pieces and gets tricked by fake scenes like the one in the parlor, narrated by Battler. But in-universe, within the reality of the gameboard, no Kanon existed for Erika.

Ironically, meta-Erika has no idea about this because she was perceiving the "absolutely everyone is here" scene in the parlor from the meta, through Battler's skewed perspective. That why neither version of Erika noticed Kanon's absence when everyone reunited in the parlor. Meta Erika saw Kanon and Shannon there as part of the fake narration and in-universe Erika only saw Shannon. No other young servant existed on the island as far as she knew, so she agreed that "everyone" except Kinzo was in the parlor.

Not that it matters because there are no Shkanon shenanigans at all in EP5's mystery. And all the adults see only Shannon when she reveals herself as the family head and proposes the plan to frame Natsuhi. The only Shkanon trick in EP5 is just the fact that the audience sees them together the entire fucking time in front of the entire family, making us believe they are different people. But in the gameboard itself, there are no such tricks. Kanon isn't even really there as far as everyone is concerned, he only shows up as part of Yasu in fictional scenes that never took place as depicted, taking turns with Shannon to voice Yasu's lines in order to trick the reader.

Hell, there is even a scene where Erika tells Shannon and Kanon to close the parlor door so she can accuse Natsuhi, and they both say "Yes" with a strange eunuch-ass voice that is neither Shannon's nor Kanon's. It's not even them talking at the same time like in other parts of the episode. It's a single person talking, with a totally unique voice that mixes both of their voices perfectly.

That's probably the only time in the entire series that we get to hear Yasu's natural voice, not filtered through Kanon/Shannon's personas.

Yes, they are all characters Yasu has created, but they're also personas that Yasu has lived their life as. Like, even if Shannon is just an idealized image in Yasu's head, they spent enough years roleplaying as her on a day-to-day basis that it became almost real. Same with Kanon. While he initially exists just to shoulder the repressed angst and vent Yasu's frustrations, after falling in love with Jessica Yasu starts to genuinely yearn for a life and a future as him.

>Yasu doesn't seriously have any internal conflict over which servant should become her main identity by the time the typhoon seals the island.
Only because by that point they'd already given up on a future as either of them. But even when putting everything into motion Yasu still had hope deep down that such a future was possible, which is why they were always urging people to solve the riddle of the epitaph and put a stop to them. Had George or Jessica managed to do so, I think Yasu would have given up and decided to live their life with them as either Shannon or Kanon.

Clues must be presented to the "detective". They weren't. Actually, everyone should have introduced themself to Erika to make it "fair". Since Bernkastel is the detective and all necessary hints were given through the meta, the mystery basically extends to the meta-verse. Why? If the crime was faked it must be shown. People like to skip this fact when Erika voluntary skipped the investigation.
Sorry to say this but Erikatrice has a strong point here and it implies Erika was just "playing" detective and this implies piece Erika is a voluntary accomplice or is one of Yasu's personas to play a double game with the adults.
The narration obviously lies about the authority. First Bernkastel, not Erika, said she had the authority. Second, how can everyone being an accomplice bend to the detectives authority.

I think the right way to solve EP5 was to prove Natsuhi's innocents by disproving wrong evidences and questioning red truths, not by presenting another possible culprit. I don't see no real validity in a possible crime which includes a time trick and wasn't shown. In other words Battler hasn't to be right to understand the game.

Clues don't have to be painfully obvious. They just have to exist. And I'd say that the family's bizarre attitude that switches between grieving and smiling at the drop of a hat... totally counts as a clue that maybe the murders were faked.

Erika had her clue. It was fair game. She was just a sociopath and failed to notice how unnatural these behaviors were in a supposedly grieving family that has lost their children.

Because they are accomplices to what they think is a fake, victimless "crime". So humoring this wannabe detective and encouraging her to pin down Natsuhi is perfect for their plans. This is the explanation behind her "magical" detective authority within the story. They just let her do as she pleased because it benefited them.

I played and finished Umineko back in Oct of last year and holy shit not only was it fucking awesome but holy shit I want Beatrice to fucking rape me, shit in my mouth, and laugh musically while doing so. I went from hating her in a good way, to liking her with that character development in ep 3, to FUCKING HATING HER at the end of ep 3 because I was 100% blindsided by the betrayal, to loving her with ep 4 and beyond.

Did anyone else follow this similar emotional path or is this just me.

Everything else in Rei is machine translated, but it's just goofy non-canon stuff. Hou is more interesting lore-wise and Hinamizawa Bus Stop is great, but the entire thing is machine translated.

Saikoroshi is basically arc 9 and finishes Rika's character arc. It's a much more fitting ending to the story, so I don't understand why so many people finish Matsuribayashi and leave it there.

Bus Stop is a VN adaptation of Ryuukishi's original play script that he wrote before Higurashi, before he decided to turn it into Onikakushi. It's a weird beta version of Higurashi narrated like a play that somehow spoils every single major plot point of Higurashi, all within a bus stop during a rainy day. It's pretty crazy. The characters are very different (all played by mysterious silhouettes of Higurashi characters) and the syndrome is even creepier because the brain bugs can be seen with the naked eye and make people hallucinate even harder. The secret organizations are more fucked up and Oyashiro-sama is scary as hell. It's feels like a Junji Ito story, especially the way it ends.

I don't really like the manga or console versions because I prefer the expy silhouettes rather than completely new character designs. Especially for Rika and Mion, who look the same age in the original because it's just a slightly older Rika and a slightly younger Mion with an airhead personality, making both of them 14 or so. The adaptations make Rika look way too mature, which doesn't fit with the PC sprites. I always imagined a middle school version of the usual Rika, which is exactly what her silhouette sprite implies.

Anyway, Bus Stop is very interesting but the machine translation makes it a mess to follow

Modern western culture goes to the opposite extreme and turns 99% of trannies into disgusting, narcissistic, anti-free speech, irrational, puritan pieces of shit. Ohhhh, how about this: Shion was born a male, but since he was androgenous, he could switch with Mion a lot before she hit puberty and grew boobs. Then the tattoo incident happened. Shion had to live as Mion now, but to actually live as Mion, he had to become trans. Underwent the surgery, takes hormones, breast implants maybe.

Original Mion would then have to pretend that shes a trans Shion since she still has some contact with the family.

I could see Mion giving up on being perceived as a girl and going full reverse trap to hide her femine side. And maybe kinda wishing she had a dick too because it's much easier to masturbate with.

I could see Rena buying into all this genderfluid nonsense as an edgy self-harming emo teen and going around claiming she's "non-binary" because she's not your stereotypical bimbo. And then looking back on those cringy years during the main story and feeling intense shame.

This theory works for Rokkenjima Prime. Rosa accidentally killed Maria during a beating and had to bury her rotten corpse somewhere. Probably in the backyard of her company building or some shit. But the family conference was scheduled for next week, so she traced a plan and painstakingly cut off a piece of Maria's jaw before burying her. She took that with her in her suitcase and went to the family conference, claiming she had left Maria with a neighbor. She was probably planning to kill everyone to hide the fact that Maria didn't come to the island, blame a mysterious 19th person for the crimes and put Maria's jaw somewhere to make it seem like the sick fuck killer chopped her corpse into pieces and ran into the forest with the other parts. She was probably pondering how to silence Kawabata and the plane pilot afterwards, but Yasu started the ceremony and blew everything up anyway.

Maria never existed on the island. Every scene with her is a fake because the witnesses never lived to tell a third party about Maria's absence.

What if Eva went to the island completely alone and bribed Kawabata to stay silent? What if all the Ushiromiyas planned to fake their deaths to escape their massive debts and had Eva blow up the island alone, pretending the family had been in the mansion and not hiding somewhere in a third world country?

It's a silly theory, but I think it would definitely work without any contradictions. Ange was sure that everyone was dead, but what if they all ran with their money and were living to the fullest in the Bahamas? And Tohya is either lying about everything, including his supposed brain damage, or isn't even Battler and just an actor hired to get Ange to stop investigating?

Kanon didnt exist in game 5.

before erika's arrival, gohda ordered kanon to serve tea but when erika entered the room it was gohda serving it and instead kanon was in a corner of the room alone (according to battler).
during the whole game it is as if kanon did not exist, he did the housework that in the other games kanon was gohda but especially every time kanon spoke everyone ignored him except erika.
erika is the only person talking to kanon, kanon only exists in the detective's thought dimension, which explains why erika didn't notice that kanon or shannon didn't exist.
>Much of

the narrative is all meta even what the detective sees and says.
Then this is no longer a mystery.
Knox's 8th: It is forbidden for the case to be resolved with clues that are not presented.
There must be clues to solve a case we need a detective who sees only the truth so that we can formulate theories, if the detective told or saw lies then you could not solve the mystery.
then
>muh everyone is the culprit
Knox's 6th
It is forbidden for accident or intuition to be employed as a detective technique.
there is no evidence that yasu has convinced everyone to cooperate intuition is not evidence even if there is no scene to prove it.

erika accomplice is the only explanation for the 5th game, and to make sense of natsuhi scenes because to say that all her suffering is false is heresy against the mystery.

>> No.22796663

It seems illogical that Battler's scenes were used to create Natsuhi culprit theory. Krauss returned to the Dining Room and this implies everyone in the Dining Room lied. I would say this was the scene where Battler could prove he was lying. Kinzo could be hanging dead near the chapel.

The first time I read chapter 6, I remember being unable to enjoy the payoff "happy ending" because I was just waiting for something else to go wrong. Natsuhi didn't confessed about Kinzo? Shit we put so much work into it.

Too much dignity and smug. Chloe is a humiliatee and she's got a pretty nice ass.
