I don't care about Halo, but I actually am interested in Bioshock since the plot and setting seems interesting. However, I don't seem them as the same as 3d shmups because you have to care about ammo and health.

FPS games are too easy; I get bored of them pretty quickly. It's no fun to beat down the casuals and 14 year olds that populate multiplayer FPS games either. I grew out of that stage in my late teens.

The way I see it, the only reason to play FPS are if you have friends and want an easy game that anyone of any skill level can play.

Pretty much true. When I had friends back in high school we played FPS games every weekend. Now I find them boring and never touch them.
