You know, it's all true.

I lol'd at no Republicans.

It's not that hard to be better than the US

Well, I agree with 98% of what he said. I honestly had a much better time being outside there than I do here in the U.S.

>Women are better looking

I've been to Japan, they aren't better looking.

Of course, I'm from Canada, we have less fat women.

>> No.2254884

I'd go to Japan, but I'm pasty white and have an acne problem.

What a fucking deluded fantasy.

You should check out the Yahoo Questions about /jp/ itself.

They still need to be resolved.

I've been to Japan about 6 times, and here are the things I wish the US had.
1. 20 million vending machines with more than SODA SODA SODA
2. Convenience stores at every corner that sold more than junk food, such as sandwiches/variety of bread products/etc
3. Their transportation system (at least make it work in the urban/suburban portions of cities)
4. The number of world-wide cuisine restaurants that are offered in Tokyo and Osaka. New York and LA are a joke when it comes to foods from around the world
5. Their internet

Otherwise, eh.

not japan related.
REPORTED.

You have evidence on 4 as well with the recent Michelin guide to Japan as well - Tokyo has more stars than Paris plus New York.

It would be nice to have that transportation system in the US, but the price to do so is what keeps us from doing it. It works in Japan because its the size of a postage stamp. If I remember my numbers right building a subway is something on the order of a 100K per foot of tubing.

That's why I said urban/suburban. I didn't ask for trans-continental railways. Seattle has shit and can't even get to it's neighboring cities without riding on the god-awful bus system (ALWAYS LATE).

I've been to the US about 6 times, and here are the things I wish Japan had.
1. 20 million less vending machines that sold shit like used panties.
2. Convenience stores that actually sold edible stuff that has been at least examined by some sort of program. At least the US has the FDC.
3. Car dealerships. I want a car, not a bunch of other forms of transportation methods where I have to be around the smell of other people.
4. The number of world-wide cuisine restaurants that are offered in San Francisco and Seattle. Kyoto and Hokkaido are a joke when it comes to foods from around the world
5. Their police force

Otherwise, eh.

Even in the Urban area's its not feasible, they are too spread out. Most just opt for a busing system instead of spending an insane amount on a mass transit system that may or may not get used. In some of the cities where they were going to try putting them in, they began to do it and it was so costly they just stopped and abandoned it (such as Cincinnati attempt at it).
We do have them in some of the big cities, but they are places where parking is a royal pain in the ass like NYC or DC. If parking isn't a pain, driving or busing is a far better way to go than trying to set up a system.

If you're going to try to do a lame parody, at least get the Seattle thing accurate. Seattle has the Met, Oceania, Cheesecake, Sushi land, and then 100-200 Thai/Japanese/Indian restaurants run by strictly Koreans.
