Youkai are born when MAGIC, LOL.

Seriously, that's pretty much how it works. Some are created by extremely powerful beings (gods and whatnot), some arise as a result of magical pollution and littering (results in some random animals/animated objects becoming youkai), some are the end product of humans that took an obsession to extreme lengths, and some are the warped offspring of magicians that forgot to use protection. Age isn't really a requirement, though it is telling for how much experience a youkai might have. If one's lived for a thousand years, that won't automatically make them powerful- rather, it's their power that enabled them to live for all that time without getting killed/eaten/sealed/banished/bound/other.

If we assume a multiple universe than not only anything that man can imagine but anything we cannot imagine is real. Somewhere in a universe Cirno exists exactly as we think she should throwing danmaku and freezing frogs. Therefore in a sense youkai are born from the imaginations of men.

No, you'd need an infinite and all-encompassing universe to be able to assert that imagination makes things real. Multiple isn't enough. Not even infinite.

I don't think I understand. So, if we have an infinite number of universes we cannot possibly have anything of possible creation that exists? That makes no sense to me, infinite is by definition endless upon endless and if we assume an endless number of universes than everything must exist even things that cannot exist by reason or logic because reason and logic may be entirely different in another universe of vastly different origin and creation.

This assuming of course that there exists anything outside the universe which may be all there is in the bounds of all creation. Unless you're suggesting that a multiple universe scenario has a limited number and then I ask how you figure that?

>> No.2247942

>>2247928
Sigh. It's simple.

Take the current universe to be the only one. Thus youkai do not exist anywhere because youkai do not exist here.
Now make an infinite number of this universe. Youkai still do not exist anywhere, and yet you have an infinite number of universes.
If you wish to complain that it's only 1 universe because there's no change between them, take every one of those infinite universes and change something. Minor or major, it doesn't matter. Make any change you want EXCEPT something that would make youkai exist. Now you have an infinite number of different universes, but no youkai.

>> No.2247963

So the assumption is that all universes are alike? Certainly an infinite number of universes can exist where each of them is a perfect copy of each other and you still have an infinite number of universes but that's a pretty bold assumption. I was under the impression that in an infinite multi universe setting not only are all things possible but all things are happening now.

Read the final part.

plus, it's a far bolder statement that NONE of the two universes would be the same.

You just don't have a good grasp of what infinite means. It doesn't mean "everything", it means "no end". Here's a riddle; which is larger, the set of all positive integers (1, 2, 3, 4, ...), or the set of all positive even integers (2, 4, 6, 8, ...) ?

>> No.2248017

>>2248000
Is that a trick question or does one have to mention the concept of relative infinity ?

>> No.2248038

>>2248017
it's a simple comparison question, so the only possible answers are "a is larger than b" "b is larger than a" and "a and b are the same size". If by trick question you meant the correct answer is not one of those three, than no.

It's just a problem I remember from early Calc III when the professor was explaining infinity to us. I can't say I know exactly what you mean by "relative infinity".

>> No.2248039

Both sets are both countably infinite, so they have the same cardinality, even though one is a subset of the other.
