2245325 No.2245325 [Reply] [Original]

A jumbo Suika plush doll (eyes closed ver.) by Pink Company that was only sold in limited amounts at the recent reitaisai has auctioned off for 916,000 yen (US$9,270). Only ten of this version was made for sale, and the mass production version which will be sold through shops has her eyes open.

The doll measures about 45×25x25cm and is sold at 12,000 yen (US$120) originally, the mass production version was available for preorder online at D-Stage but sold out very quickly too.

Where does all the touhoufags get their money?
If this shitty plushie can sell for that much, the GIFT jumbo Reimu can probably go for 2x more.

The rich few who treat money as no object are the sole reason why you get insane YAJ bids.

I've seen uncommon dakimakura often go past 100k.

Is there a website I can buy these? I want to buy a Raymoo doll for my 1 year old niece

But that Suika is awfully made...
Is it enough to have the idea of being limited to push it beyond the manufacturing price, coupled with abusing the fact that otaku will pay anything for what they like?
Hell yeah. Taking orders, who wants a Cirno!?

For the GIFT plushie
http://www.gift-gift.jp/goods.html

Sadly I havent found a website that ship them internationally. If not I would totally buy the GIFT plushie.

I could make one of these by hand. It doesn't look that hard.

Help me then.
You design Cirno's clothing, it will save me a lot of time. Dead serious here, I'm gonna finish this plushie and auction it off for anonymous. Part of the proceedings go to moot.

Japs are suckers for limited editions. They will often bid insane amounts of money.

I'd love to have a plush Suika but this one is poorly made, wouldnt be worth 10$ to me.

The GIFT Marissa looks like a good pick, I think the GIFT Reimu's bored experssion might not be the best for a 1 year old. Of course shipping is the only real problem

I have a credit line of about 10k on me and I couldn't imagine almost maxing that out for a plush toy

>> No.2245416

>>2245399
The problem is, if you are only making one it will cost more than $10 to make it. Most of the Plush dolls around here that are about the same size ran about $50. I could see maybe paying $35-40 for the mass produced one, but that's basically to cover materials.

>> No.2245422

>>2245414
Even with millions in credit, I couldn't see spending 10k on one of those. I think the most expensive plush doll here was a few hundred and its about three feet tall and very well made.

We can work with this pattern.
Problem is, I still have to adapt the legs to the GIFT ones, since I hate those damn oversized feet.
Hands were easy to round instead of doing the hands, but a close stitch is required for it too look nice and round.

>>2245432
The outfits and hair would be easy to do as peices and use tacky glue or simple stitches to put them together and hold them in place. You just need to look at what you are making and dissect it into pieces. Its possible to make a doll that can be any touhou you want it to be using fastener and clothes that come off.
