To give you a serious answer, they're not dead dead but they're losing good-will almost non-stop, and that's never a good thing for a job where the focus is literally being a public figure like vtubers are. They're still getting things like events but last I checked less than half of them are streaming recently, even excluding the ones who rarely do like Nekomochi, Azuki, and Riko. The smartest decision the suits have made, not that I'm defending those absolutely god awful retards, is delaying Tama's retirement notice for as long as possible in hopes it won't be tied closely to another big bad happening. The problem being its been nonstop, what with the sheep and Suzu and a few others that haven't been mentioned yet have got a ton of problems like doxxing, past lives, and basically just the whole nine yards back to back. And I know some anons will be pissed at me or that one anon who obviously doesn't care will pretend to be for saying it but she hasn't been active on twitter for a whole month, and I say this as a guy who used to watch her, but she's absolutely not going to be coming back. If anything I'm praying she's not coming back, because the last thing we need is more "Ctubers" but there's practically no chance for the girl whose been Tama all this time to ever actually come back after all this. None of this even talking about the people who got hard doxxed and might have been in actual legitimate danger but Mememe's at least come back with videos so she's doing fine enough to do that much at least.
tl;dr yes but also no but dotlive higherups should unironically kill themselves anyways
