Hey, /jp/, i have a question.
Why is it that Marisa is the icon of every game in the touhou series? of course this is from my sample of PCB thru UFO, minus SWR.
Is Marisa just Zun's favorite character? is that why shes been in liek every game? I mean it looks to me like UFO was going to be a storyline of a battle between the shrines, reimu vs sanae. and is it just me but the backstory for marisa's scenarios always something liek she was bored, or she happened to be there and get caught up.
now im not saying i hate marisa, she is one of my favorite characters, but its just looks to me like shes thrown in every game.

Yes, she's even on StB even though she's not in the game.
Marisa is Touhou's icon(ikon).

Looks more like PoDD, complete with science and ruins.

My theory is that it's just to give recognition to her. Touhou is also known as "Project Shrinemaiden", and it's made by Team Shanghai Alice, but there's no mention of a witch anywhere, so it's just a way to also honor her importance in the games.

i already did. thats what I'm saying it looked like it was going to be a battle/race between the two shirnes to see who can get to the treasure ship first, which if you read the prologue thats essential the plot.
which is why i pointed out that marisa seems a bit like the odd man out. of course it could simply be her greed

We can go with Remi as Bowser (or Baby Bowser if you wish, for the brattiness), and do the Kamek/Patchy comparison. Kamek is, after all among the best magic users in Mario universe.
