Are the meta scenes where Battler and Beatrice discuss the events of the story (not the magical scenes on the island) actually part of the message bottles/forgeries? If so, how does their continuing narrative play into the other message bottles that Yasu wrote?

Why did she choose to write stories where Beatrice tortures Battler and Battler is unable to understand her? Then again, we only see two message bottles, which are much lighter on the Battler misunderstanding compared to the others.

Do people actually lewd Bern? I find Bern, Rika and Dlanor's personalities absolutely impossible to lewd. I like them as characters, but I can't feel any attraction towards them. They are neither sexy women nor sexy kids, they are weird meta creatures of indeterminate physical or mental age.

I guess we disagree here. I honestly adored the artstyle in the manga and the switch. I love Ryu's art post-Higurashi, but the Higurashi sprites don't do it for me the same way the Umineko sprites do. I think the poses are a bit stiff, and the expressions don't have the same oomph. I have, of course, warmed up to them over time, especially because there's no good alternative. The PS2 look like literal ugly plastic, and the mangagamer sprites look trashy.

I also loved the character designs. I liked the nod to canon Mion and Rika's designs, while still giving them their own distinct traits. And lastly, age gap yuri gives me the hots.

The thing is, they are not supposed to have actual designs or any facial expressions in the VN version of Hinamizawa Bus Stop. The sprites are literally just "grey blob in the shape of Tomitake", "green blob in the shape of Mion", "blue blob in the shape of Rika but slightly taller". That gives the story a surreal quality, along with the narration which is literally a play script rather than your usual VN narration (even the sound effects of rain and thunder are written as part of the script). It lets you imagine the characters however you want, so I chose to imagine a slightly taller Rika, a slightly shorter Mion and bizarro versions of the other characters. That's why I didn't like how the adaptations forced actual designs on me, especially because most of them were original and didn't even look like expies of the Higurashi characters.

I think it'll be good, the world Ryukishi has built seems interesting and it looks like he's put a lot of effort into it. I'm worried that there have been too many characters introduced at once, and only the members of Warcat and Grave Mole will get any real focus.

So, rather than preventing the extermination of a town or a family, I'm guessing this is about preventing the extermination of humanity.

This has some S;G vibes, since one of the storylines was about preventing WWIII, and I'm guessing just as previous "When they cry" games, there will some kind of loop going on. Though, I wonder if there will be a closed environment as in the previous games.

I suppose, but I'm guessing a regular conflict that goes terribly wrong doesn't leave much room for mystery. So, assuming this is going to be a mystery game, then my guess is that the conflict itself isn't what will cause whatever it is that causes hell to break loose, but it will be the setting that allows Person/Group X to do action Y which is the trigger that starts WWIV.

A closed environment isn't really a requirement for a proper mystery to be written. That was a thing on "And then there were none", but plenty of other Golden Age mysteries didn't involve a closed environment.
