When I was about halfway through Little Busters!, Key announced Little Busters! Ecstasy. The main addition: ecchi. Now this pissed me off; Not that I didn't have them in my game, but that they would ruin a brilliant game with smut. I really didn't want to fuel the fire with this... I have no doubt that weird people who want to whack off would pirate/illegally download the game. For a game like Little Busters!, I couldn't bear that to happen.

Ever since Little Busters! was released, the standard/Japanese-related forums have been begging for a translation. In most cases, and this is just my opinion, this was because of the brand name. Almost everyone in the VN-scene has heard of Key, almost all in the anime-scene have watched Kanon, AIR, and/or CLANNAD (although granted, this is also down to the creative skills of Kyoto Animation). Even I bought LB! because of the brand name. It sickens me to think that people will just blindly read this game then chuck it away. And that's what I believe will happen... especially if LB!-EX is translated.

The people I've talked to who have played LB!-EX have said the new routes "were the most fun I've ever had". Most others have commented on the BGM. Others (like yourself) have called for a translation for Little Busters! Ecstasy, mostly for the "new routes".

I did buy Little Busters! Ecstasy. While it is slightly better (there are some reasons why I think this), I still wouldn't translate it.

Are you really, truly going to read our whole translation? Or just skip to Saya's route? Or the ecchi scenes? Not to mention the lack of manpower we have right now... It's very long.

From a technical point of view, there are even more things that stop us from translating LB!-EX. I'm not a very good reverse engineer, in fact I'm using someone else's tools for very basic (and incomplete) access to the scripts. Using the same tools does not work for LB!-EX, and I don't know what will and I can't try to make my own.

My final note isn't directly related to your questions; it's just a spot of common sense. In one forum thread discussing another translation project for Little Busters!, the main argument for not translating LB! was that LB!-EX had more and should be translated instead. After LB!-EX was released and able to be translated, they said to wait for a console port without ecchi scenes and translate that! Maybe they don't want a translation...

Summation: No, currently there is no chance that we will "move on" to Little Busters! Ecstasy. There is a lot more content (not including the 3 new routes and the ecchi).

PS: By the way, even *if* we finish Little Busters!, there is another game that I want to translate - before Little Busters! Ecstasy.
