Give me one (1) good reason I, the common western audience, should become interested in this character.

At first glance she looks generic and forgettable, like something from Sailor Moon or Dragonball Z. If I happened to see her in a property I enjoy (some sort of crossover promotion perhaps) I have no reason to look into what she's from or what her deal is, simply because her appearance inspires no feeling whatsoever beyond passing contempt.
