Here's some tips that will make your life a lot easier if you are planning on playing it.

1. If you die, it's game over. Unless of course you just reset the game instead of leaving the dungeon. The game autosaves pretty much everywhere so you can just restart the area you died in that way.

2. The skill that allows you to heal HP by hitting enemies is absolutely vital if you want to get anything done without wasting your entire inventory on healing items. The skill is on the Feather Duster weapon.

3. Some of the DLC characters are way better than every normal character. Tojiko is constantly floating so you'll never step on traps and can not be hit by Tenshi's earthquake spam, while Dai-chan will spam status buffs, heals and room clearing status attacks if you get her as a partner.

Good thread. I started playing the game recently and having fun.
Play it if you like roguelike/lite, I actually haven't played the mystery dungeon series but apparently they are similar.
Tons of equipments, enemies with varied abilities, gimmick interactions, the music is good too. The game saves at every floor so you can play at your own pace.

>>21492701
You can read up on seal's ability. There are good and bad equipment but early game collecting different (useful) seals and leveling up your gear are more important.

Transfer experience between equipment is trivial with some nito points so you shouldn't worry too much about going for good shits from the get-go.

>>21495211
Just carrying an item protection talisman will keep your items safe from most things and you can negate almost every trap with enough seals.

The only one I really have a problem with is memory loss since you can't carry in your gear in dungeons where it matters and record seals are a massive pain to make.

The Futo DLC was the most important if you want to get the best gear possible because you can get blue seals for your items in it. You can get 100% chance to counter with 125% damage and other fun stuff with it.

Tho I think that DLC is already included in the Reloaded version of the game. You had to buy it seperately for the older PS4 game.

>> No.21495313

Sakuya's DLC was ok and she is a decent enough character to play as. Her time stop skill can potentially get you out of some tight places tho it pales in comparison to the constant floating effect that Tojiko has when it comes to overall usefulness in dungeons. The dlc thankfully also doesn't have any bullshit bosses in it, like that Marisa sidestory has.

Whether or not it's worth the price is your call to make, but some of them do add a fair bit of content. I'm pretty fond of most of the dlc dungeons, and having things to do other than plowing through Bunnyland forever is nice.

Tojiko constantly floats which means you will never step on any traps ever. Her 10P danmaku skill is also one of the strongest in the game. Sanae has a really good 10P skill to which basically spams buffs on you while debuffing the enemies in a large square around you. Sakuya can stop time to get a lot of free turns to either get the fuck away from a bad situation or to just beat up enemies. She also can not step on traps during timestop.

I think those are the characters who stood out the most for me. I basically always use Tojiko, even used her to clear that 1000 floor dungeon.

I enjoyed most of those. The equipment upgrade mechanics are fun, but I still think the formula works best when you start with nothing. So long as fusion is allowed, it's not too hard to get prepared for the nonsense that appears towards the end.

>>21500025

Satori is a pretty good choice in dungeons where you can't bring items. Her ability to copy spellcards is extremely useful when resources are limited, and allows her to get much stronger equipment than other characters would. She also has a cheap and particularly destructive AoE danmaku attack that works great if she gets surrounded.

>>21501124
Any grinding in the game should be for the purpose of powering up the equipment you use in dungeons that let you bring your equipment. Character levels don't actually mean much, so grinding inside of a dungeon for the purpose of clearing that dungeon is generally a waste of time. You do want to comb every level for items and equipment in the no-carry dungeons, but there's no real point to sticking around in levels after you do that. Good resource management will carry you much further than any amount of grinding, especially when fusion is allowed.

Most bosses can be trivialized with a few good items and/or bringing Utsuho along. Utsuho is an unstoppable force of nature during boss battles; she can often crush foes that would kill the player character in one hit.

That item does in fact appear to have an enhancement "bonus" of -21, which is just as terrible as it sounds. I would guess you recently went through a dungeon with a bunch of Kanako enemies in it, as they like to use an obnoxious ability that deteriorates your equipment. Deterioration resistance is an extremely high-priority seal because it prevents this from happening. Having your equipment blessed also helps.

You can get the third eye back to a positive enhancement bonus eventually, so I wouldn't trash it.

Even though it can be very frustrating (well you can always savescum instead of letting disgusting bullshit end a 2h run in one sec) and grindy/repetitive at times, it's a great, complex game with top-quality art, VAs, OST, immense amounts of content/references and a continuous learning curve.
The content is worth the price assuming you're good/patient enough to clear it (80% of the game consists of Lunatic 99 floor dungeons with unidentified items, Reloaded will still keep you busy for 60+ hours with the main quest chain + included easy DLC stories though)
The lack of english discussion/wikis for that game really hurts though, the in-game chronicle lets you check enemy/status/items/mechanics at all times but you gotta look for info/tips on the dungeons and especially equipment melding/endgame setups in old forum threads and vids

You need to unlock it first by completing the storyline up to some point. There's a cutscene with Nitori once you unlock it, like for all those other alchemy related upgrades. Once it's unlocked, you need to level up a weapon to the maximum level that it can reach. Only a weapon at max level can be used as a base for melding. The other weapon can be at whatever level, tho you gain a much higher atk/def increase if you fuse a weapon/armor with one from the same family, like melding a Seven Star Sword with Miko's Shaku.

Some Akyu gacha scrolls

It's even worse in the PS4 version where you get 10 scrolls that were required for melding in that version. It's mostly just a steady dungeon for you to power up your gear in and to test it out. There are even dungeons with way tougher enemies than this one too but I have not yet done all of those.

I do tend to overlook status ailments, since it seems like a lot of the more dangerous enemies are immune to them.
When I feel emboldened enough to make another attempt, I might see if it's possible to inflict soft or poison or something on Mamizou and friends. All I really needed was more damage output, and I doubt I could make a weapon with much more raw power than what I had last time. I even had yellow double/triple speed slayer seals that granted a huge damage bonus, which I thought would make the fight fairly trivial alongside 20% cure, counter, and all my items.

>>21508607
It is a shame that two-handed weapons are so worthless. I tend to favor glass cannon-ish characters, but that's just not a good option in this game.

>>21508632
It steadily becomes a bigger issue the further you progress through the game. It's not really much of a handicap in the first two story dungeons, but once the game starts expecting you to have equipment with decent levels/bonuses you'll get cut to pieces without a shield. In some cases, you might take one step on a dungeon floor and then get insta-killed by enemies you can't even see. It's just not feasible to avoid taking hits from Big Tenshi, Suika, Kasen, Sakuya, etc.

2h weapons are great in a lot of the 99 floor dungeons especially when nito fusion is restricted.
Most armor really doesn't do anything when you cant give it +'s or stick that many seals in it.
2h weapons come with decent defense and seals that give massive boosts to health and attack. They also let you focus your limited resources on 2 items instead of 3.

Duel wielding is worthless though since having a ton of damage does nothing when you get killed in one hit.

I favor using Satori in those dungeons, so I can get good enhancement bonuses even without fusion. I suppose some 2H weapons are a decent choice in them if you aren't using Satori, though. It just depends on what equipment you actually happen to find.

Ultimately, I think the problem lies more with the enemy design than the merits of the weapons themselves. Quite a few "Big" enemies have attacks that are effectively unavoidable, since they can be launched from outside the player's sight range. As such, you absolutely have to be able to take hits and recover quickly, otherwise you have to rely on luck to survive. No matter how high your offensive power is, you can't actually eliminate threats before they harm you.

>> No.21514173

>>21514010
None of the long no-carry dungeons are easy, just go for one that doesn't restrict your use of fusion or have any other nasty additional gimmicks. Barring some exceptionally bad luck, I can usually clear them without save scumming. That said, I've played through quite a few roguelikes, and put a ton of time into this game in particular.

Understanding how to best make use of nito-fusion is a huge deal: fusion can provide answers to almost every problem if used appropriately. There are certain resources you absolutely need in order to survive if you aren't going to rely on save-scumming, and fusion is a much more reliable way of getting them than relying on finding good items. I also recommend playing as either Tojiko or Satori. Tojiko's passive floating ability is ridiculously good, and she has very strong danmaku. Satori can copy spellcards, and if you get an Ara Mitama and/or Saki Mitama early on you can end up with some very strong equipment by the end and continue going toe-to-toe with everything. Satori's Brain Fingerprint is also one of the best danmaku attacks in the game: it's cheap, it fires in 8 directions, it hits hard, all 8 projectiles create secondary AoE explosions when they hit, and projectiles that don't hit anything become explosive mines that may kill enemies later.

man this Luna Labyrinth dungeon is really starting to annoy me. You start running into -san type enemies from floor 10 onwards and at around floor 12 I'll just get killed because my damage output is so bad that each enemy drains most of my health. It's only influenced by the amount of money that the items you have actually stolen are worth. I think for every 1000yen worth of money you have stolen you will deal 1% less damage. Tho I am not 100% sure about this part.

If you have not stolen anything since the start of the dungeon you are currently in, you deal 10% more damage and take 10% less damage. If you have not stolen at all for the entire game, this increases by an additional 10%. Even the jap wiki does not mention if it only count successful steals (as in you actually moving to the next floor after taking an item) or if it will still keep track of it if Mamizou kills you and you leave the dungeon with no loot.

100% worse than having pure immunity seals. Some enemies may spam status moves on you, especially when startled, causing you to lose all your health almost instantly. I was getting pretty worn down anyway, though. I was low on healing, and had no defense against the status ailment spam that enemies were starting to use. My attack and defense were more than adequate, but that doesn't help much when I'm constantly confused, melancholy, blinded, and weakened, which often happened after taking one step into a room. I really was not enjoying the enemy combinations in that last stretch of levels.

I could deal with all that if fusion was available, but without fusion it feels awfully luck-based. I'll probably go back to Innocent Heart and plotting my revenge against Mamizou for now.

Enemies go up to lvl 10000 in the 2nd vault dungeon but they also drop by far the most money in the game. Last time I went in, I left with 85 million money. I only made it up to floor 90 so far because lvl 10k enemies kill me in one hit and past a certain point every enemy is at that level. You can't Nito-Fuse in that dungeon and there is basically no food, because enemies only drop money, so you have to bring a lot of it yourself. You'll never die of starvation at that level since your melded weapon will 100% have a cure seal on it, but you can't sprint if your hungry.

It's not actually the hardest dungeon in the game though. Kasen's Dojo has a series of dungeons that also eventually reach lvl 10k and the enemies in that are actually immune to the "Ignore Defense" skills so you either need lvl 900+ equipment or certain other seals to beat them.

Well then, this is pretty good to know, I guess I'm just getting started with the endgame grind after all,
At this point ,can you just use whatever one handed weapon you want as long as you meld for a correct set of yellow seals ?
I'm using Cure, Atk range+4, Wide area attack, Direct Hit, Multi-Level attack(+10),Excavation and Destroy defense(55%) on the Moonlight Ruin Greatsword for now
Armor seems a lot faster and easier to build in comparison

Yeah the amount of recipes is insane, and a lot of them are very demanding in terms of mats and upgrading, I spent an entire afternoon on the BS that is pic related (and I thought the Gap-99 recipe was bad), too bad 2handed weapons just aren't viable later on

In order to get the maximum amount of attack or defense, you need to use a weapon as your base that has a slow growth rate. The jap wiki weapon list assigns each weapon a different letter to show their grow rate, with A being the fastest and I or above being the slowest.

In addition to that, you also need to meld the weapon with a weapon from the same family, for example if you are using the Miracle Purification Greatrod as your base weapon then you need to fuse it with either the Feather Duster Thingy, the 2nd level of it or another Miracle Purification Greatrod.

This makes picking your base weapon quite the important decision because most of the slow groth rate weapons are high tier weapons that are not quick to get for additional melding. If you are using the Moonlight Ruin Greatsword, you would have to craft additional Moonlight Ruin Greatswords to meld into the base weapon since it is the only weapon in that family. Yorihime's Sword is already another family since you need to use Alchemy to create the Ruin Sword from instead of just leveling it up.

I could post my weapon and armor seals but this post would be way too long.

Lord of Hakurei and the 2 JoJo related weapons that you can craft after beating Platinum House are the easiest "I" Grows Rate weapons to craft. That Honsakaki weapon turns into Lord of Hakurei if you just level it up. The bunny sword you can buy at the stall on the moon also has an "H" rate.

It's a pretty annoying system because it limits your selection quite a bit.

Thanks,I was getting a little lost on the jp wiki, he Honkasaki family seems like a good and safe pick, do I have to stick with it and only make more Honkasakis all the way up to level 999? (once I added the good yellow seals back)

>> No.21550597

>>21550537
You might want to eventually fuse your melded weapon into another base weapon once you pass certain levels because many yellow seals can actually power up at higher levels. Tho you would have to scrim through the jap wiki to get all the exact levels for that. I did that for a few yellow seals, like Multihit +14 which was at lvl 500 I think.

I don't know that it's necessarily the fastest way, but you can get quite a lot by running through some of the Kappa Mine dungeons. I think I just managed to achieve my dumbest defeat ever. I somehow got confused and gave the same name to unidentified explosive gaps and standard gaps. I got some extremely valuable items early on I knew would be useful later, so I stuck them into what I thought was an ordinary gap to keep them safe until then. Once I was ready to use them, I threw the gap against a wall, which destroyed a bunch of great items and reduced me to 1 HP. I then got KO'd by Komachi the same turn.

I wasn't very far into the dungeon yet, thankfully, but I was equipped well enough that I probably would have gotten through it without much trouble if not for that idiocy.

Actually managed to hit for the damage cap with every single attack at once. The only way to deal more damage than this would be a very specific green seal on 2 weapons in the game that gives you Multi-Hit +15. +14 is the highest that you can get from a yellow seal in the game, which is what I have.

The sad part is that all those 999 seals don't even matter for those types of dungeons. The only 2 ways in which I was even killing enemies at that level was by having Add Insane 25% and 0-hit KO 15% on my weapons. That 800+ weapon otherwise deals between 15 and 1000 damage on average. My partner was able to deal some damage because that JoJo weapon has an Attack +100 Damage +1000 green seal on it which seems to be added after enemy defense calculations are over.

I think they have the potential to be the strongest weapons in the game in terms of raw damage. No other weapons can get 15 extra hits and the Dio weapon can give you up to 1000 turns of Vampire if you can activate it, which is just absurd and means you will basically never die unless you get killed in 1 hit. The only problem is actually activating all those green seals. I don't think it is possible to active the damage up, vampire and multi-hit seals all at once while also using armor. "Lynchpin of Bonds" has dual wield enhancement and multi-attack and those Remi/Flan armors have vampire boost but there is no way to also activate the damage up with that set-up. I think the only other armor with vampire boost is the stone mask but that doesn't have damage up either. The Remi/Flan armors also only have an F for Growth Rate which is pretty bad for high stats.

I mostly just gave it to my partner because they are super easy to make and the shield I am using for armor has damage up as a green seal. I also found it boring to have the exact same equipment for both characters. Having Lord of Hakurei and a Hakurei Crystal gives you +30% evasion while having float, which Tojiko always has by default.

Its boring how that dualwielding focused wep needs to be lvl500 even though you ll get oneshot in any dungeon intended for that level, I guess it can burst down bosses with triple speed + invincible medicine but then you dont need the vampire effect, oh well.

I think they completely underestimated how high enemy damage would eventually scale when they designed the game. Most weapons are just balanced around normal dungeon enemies. Stuff like that Super Saiyan Rose Log takes hours to even get once and it is completely pointless because of the extremely high damage everything does in every dungeon that actually lets you use it.

The final 2 Futo dungeons have some good ones. You can beat them multiple times and there will be more gold chests at the end. You can also find blue seals in The Beginning Trial and those high level Kasen dungeons. The 7th Kasen dungeon technically has the best seals but that is absolute endgame.

I achieved my vengeance on Mamizou, and I didn't even use 5% of the items I had prepared. Mamizou and her friends did not enjoy being envenomed while getting knocked around by giant, hardened, super-strong, triple-speed, and regenerating Sanae and Okuu. Sanae's Star Ritual danmaku is extremely effective during that battle. It can also kill those obnoxious high level Nazry Mouse enemies: while standing in the field, they suffered over 100,000 damage per turn. 100,000+ damage per turn is pretty good output for a character that doesn't even have melded equipment.

I was also able to slaughter creator kisume enemies pretty well, thanks to that and some good blue yokai slayer/barrier seals. I ended up using my extermination cards on Shou and Yukari instead.
