How is it possible that after all those years there isn't a single real Kitsune character in Touhou?

Ran is just a goddamn shikigami slave and that one fox in manga disappeared after like 2 chapters to never appear again.

Ran is just the name of the "virus" controlling the kitsune. it's actually quite a tragic story and just highlights that Yukari can't be trusted.

Ran IS a kitsune, you dum-dum. Yeah yeah, she's a shikigami, but unless we know about the fox underneath, might as well assume that RAN Yakumo is a single being.

There's still no real dark skinned character or christian in the windows continuity either. There was tanned Cirno but no true real brown girl. A western invasion with all kinds of different mythologies would be pretty interesting but I guess it would just be another holy war incident and we've had enough of that.

I think touhou could use another fox though. I remember when everybody was getting super excited over Junko's tails with her silhouette from the early days of LoLK and thought there was going to be another fox. A bear youkai would be a nice addition to.

1 racoon with a bunch of underlings

1 mermaid
1 cow
1 tapir ( is Doremy even a tapir? )
