ZUN hasn't made a decent character since DDC (arguably longer)
all the print works are meandering snorefests, the music feels like a parody of ZUN's earlier work

Well there was that one guy who seems very adamant on defending DDC as the best Touhou game, even go as far as saying "this is it; ZUN is back!" (paraphrased).
Suffice to say it becomes very easy to use it as a bait afterwards.
