Kotomine and Zouken summoned Assassins. Rin's father, a stuck-up prick, summoned Gilgamesh, a (deservedly) stuck-up prick.

So how did a good girl like Rider, who spent her life protecting the virtue of her sisters, get summoned by an erotical black hole like Sakura?

Actually a fully mana charged rider could not only match saber, but wiped the floor with assassin.

As a matter of fact, Shirou, in ANY of thr routes once he learned to trace something could take out assassin.
He really is the weakest servant.

This is of course baring his Heart crush attack, but I'm pretty sure shirou would have SOME sort of hax to deflect it, unless we were encountering a BAD END.
