Yes. Inhaling hot air into your lungs is relaxing and feels good. Repetitive actions also help you calm down, so it becomes more relaxing after a bit. It also looks kind of aesthetic. (I blame Noir)

The cons are the smell, the price, the yellow teeth, and the cancer, of course. If it weren't so harmful and expensive I would definitely smoke.

It's the illusion of stress alleviation. Nicotine is a stimulant, but more importantly it's addictive. The thing is, the more you smoke the more you want to smoke. When you alleviate the need by smoking, you feel better, but that's only really because the addiction was making you feel worse.
