There was this lewd siesta410 fanart I've been searching for eons, relatively speaking. Placed it in a miscallenous folder which i autistically deleted recently. Thought no big deal since I can find it again but to no avail. She looked like being on top, as if resembling someone riding a dick with a smug face in front of a dark background while saluting with one of her hands. Tried to redraw it from memory with 1% accuracy to have some lead to go on if anyone feels up for the task or remember having posted it one of the seacat generals. It isn't on any of the boorus and I couldnt find it on other relevant sources like pixiv either. I might have snatched it from one of the 07th generals sometime back in 2017 or 2018 or possibly back in 2016 but that is too broad to look through I'm not even sure if i did snatch it from here.

The lost siesta410 image in question looks like like these 6 images merged together into the perfect fanart and to some extent scarily resembles @TheGoldenSmurf's visual style (a fantastic artist that sometimes posts into this threads) but otherwise the image isn't in the aforementioned person's gallery either. I lowkey catboxed away my fav piece of art like some idiot, as if accidentally burning up the real Mona Lisa painting. Hell, Shion actually did ruin Takano's plan by accident in at least two universes. Rika's body wasn't discovered by the authorities until days after her death. And we know from the arc endings that the extermination never took place, because characters like Rena and Chie lived on to the mid-2000s.

Those universes are just possibilities and don't truly "exist" until someone experiences them. Rika and Hanyuu can only reach worlds that are all exactly the same as their original world up until the two weeks before the festival, because they are kind of time-travelling except through alternate universes.

Since they are apparently the only beings capable of travelling through the infinite sea of possibilities, they are the only ones that can turn those "possible" worlds into REAL parallel worlds that truly exist.

It's "possible" for Takano to die in a car accident during the previous year or something, but a world like that doesn't truly exist in the multiverse and never will, because Hanyuu is incapable of taking Rika that far back.

Takano has planned for almost every possible thing that could go wrong. Even the worst sort of bad luck can't really fuck it up, she made sure of that.

The whole idea is that Hanyuu keeps "going back" to slightly different parallel worlds to try again, making them real in the process (as opposed to "possible"). But the fate that Takano has planned for is so firm and so hard to mess up that it happens in every single world Hanyuu can reach. She has a limit and can't just take Rika to a completely different world where Takano was raised differently or Rika's family moved out of town when she was a baby.

Without a witch to experience them at least once, any of the endless parallel worlds is just a world that had the chance to exist but never did.

As for the Umineko gameboards, they are fiction written by an author within a single kakera, but the events portrayed in each gameboard COULD have happened exactly the same way in the real world, as one of the endless results of Yasu's roulette. So, while they are fictional stories in Ange's world, they exist as possible parallel worlds. And since a bunch of witches have actually played around with the gameboard in the meta, all the things portrayed in the gameboards are actual events that the family experienced in several alternate universes. They have become real thanks to the witches experiencing them as stories from the MC's point of view. They are just as real as Ange's world now.

If you travelled back in time and created a split in the timeline by changing something (your mere presence in the past even for a second would technically alter it), that new timeline would be just as real as the one you came from. Just not from your perspective. But every person in that universe would experience their lives.

Before you travelled back in time, that alternate world was just a possibility. It failed to exist. It never happened, something else happened instead. But by time travelling and making it happen, you are creating a new world.

It's the same here except Hanyuu isn't creating timelines. She's just accessing dormant worlds that don't truly exist (there is one for every single particle movement since the big-bang, every single one would spawn a new world) and making them exist for real.

Before she did any of this, all the causes and effects since the beginning of the universe until Rika's death had happened in a certain way. There was a single real world and an endless number of possible, imagined worlds that never happened because things happened differently, people made decisions, etc. Once you start dealing with higher worlds and multiverses is when you have the chance to make those imagined possible worlds real.

You had the chance to become friends with someone, but you never did. You had the chance to eat toast this morning, but you ate something else. You had the chance to get out of bed with your left foot, but you did it with the right foot. All those options you didn't choose would lead to different universes, but they aren't real. Reality is made up of the choices you did make. There is only one reality and an infinite number of discarded realities that failed to exist. But if you could time travel (by sending your mind back to your body a day ago, for example), you could make those worlds just as real as this one within the multiverse, one at a time. Until then, they are not on the same level. They have never been experienced by anyone, even if everyone's actions and thoughts within those worlds are already "written" because of determinism. Even so, they are all philosophical zombies, including the you in that world that never happened. Only when time travel shenanigans made it happen would those zombies gain a consciousness.

By consciousness I mean the "experience" of being someone and not someone else, not the mind. Your mind has nothing to do with your consciousness. Everything you ARE is physical, it's all a bunch of chemical reactions in the brain. And the brain itself creates consciousness. This also explains why Keiichi and the others have deja-vus of events from the previous chapters. They didn't really experience them (it's not a time loop), but alternate versions of them did. Those memories resonate with them sometimes, that's how Keiichi can have those weird flashbacks about things he never experienced. Another Keiichi experienced it in an earlier world. And no, this Keiichi is not a reincarnation of the previous one. That one is fucked for all eternity and so is the next.

The thing is that Rika made a bunch of worlds real and those worlds alone resonate with her friends. Nobody ever has strange deja-vus of that one parallel world where Keiichi grew up to have weaker morals and raped Rena during the festival. Because such a world doesn't exist. It could have existed if his parents made different decisions or if the events in his life had been different. But things didn't happen that way and no higher being made them happen that way. That world doesn't exist even though it's technically a possibility in the sea of fragments.

She knows the explanation for the deaths of the dam foreman, Satoko's parents and aunt. Hanyuu loses her memories when she's too far away from Rika. Her existence is flimsy enough already, she can't just wander around to spy on people. If she tried to spy on Takano and Tomitake to see what the fuck kills them, the next second she would be sitting near Rika three hours later. Everything she learned while she was a way would be missing from her memory, stored away in her "god" personality's memory.

And that's also why she's so jaded during Higurashi, says that she doesn't really care about Hinamizawa anymore and talks about Rika in the third person. During this immaterial meta state, she can think fourth dimensionally and access all of her memories faster than a super computer, that's how she comes up with her XYZ theories and why her personality is so different.

Rika wouldn't be able to function if she had thousands of years worth of memories jammed into her physical brain, including the hundreds of repetitions of the exact same events and all the traumatizing shit that she went through in several arcs. She wouldn't be able to go on if she remembered what Shion did to her in detail. So, when Bernkastel is about to possess a the body of a new Rika in the next world, Hanyuu sort of "filters" her memories and doesn't let her remember the truly bad shit while she's human. That's why she's always "100 years old", even though she's probably lived far longer than that.

Higurashi got actual covers for each arc instead of sprites sitting next to each other, so it has its advantages too. Also, not only did every character have between 2 and 4 different outfits, they also had different body and hand poses.

Umineko had a large as fuck cast of characters, so they were kinda forced to wear the same clothes forever and never move their hands from their original positions. But it had like a hundred different facial expressions for Battler and Beato.

I'm pretty sure that's the old version.

I recommend the Steam version. The translation is slightly improved and they fixed ALL the music/sound effect bullshit.

In the old release, you had to patch tons of shit to get the original music back and add some more patches to restore the original sound effects, because they replaced everything with terrible versions that sound like crap. The iconic cicada sounds were replaced by a 2 second loop of awful sounding garbage. And even the patches were unable to restore some of the best music because of how the replacements were coded into the game.

Just drop that shit and get the Steam version. It should be easy to find.

I don't think the completely unnecessary graphic patches caused the error, though. It seems like the files were damaged or your torrent was stopped at 99%.

Only up to chapter 6. 7 and 8 have been fully translated (and probably full of typos they won't fix) for like 2 years now, but they won't release them until the programmer stops slacking off. Why they needed to program an entirely new engine with an ugly unremovable blue UI instead of just patching the original game is beyond me.

You could read the old versions of 7 and 8, which had pretty decent translations most of the time. Just remember to patch the shit out of them to get the music back. And don't forget to fix the sound effects too. I recommend leaving the original graphics alone, especially in those two arcs because the graphic patches mess up a lot of Hanyuu's sprites (she is awkwardly floating without legs in the middle of a serious scene, she randomly turns into her original self for another scene and her school outfit isn't even ported, so her normal sprite replaces the ones where she's supposed to be dressed like a normal schoolgirl).

If you want to get those two, remember that the were released as separate games with one arc each. You just need to download both.

Also, download the original Japanese version of Rei and apply the translation patch, so you can read the middle arc. It's the only serious one and serves as a fantastic epilogue to the series. It also connects Higurashi with Umineko. The main 8 arcs just don't feel complete without it.
