Eroge, yes. Hentai animation, no.

My favorites are interactive stuff like Utawarerumono and Daiakuji, but I also enjoy visual novels such as Kanon, Clannad and One. Dating with girls isn't my thing, but stories between the main character and other heroines is what hooks me up. As you noticed I prefer Key stuff because I like the relationship between characters, it feels somewhat more natural and it doesn't feel so male-chauvinist, at least that's what I think. Still have to play LB, I heard there's a bit of manservice, I'm interested.

Isn't that the whole point of Shirou's ideal?

Besides, he's trying to fight in Saber's stead not because he doesn't think women shouldn't fight, but because he has this complex about saving people that he thinks needs saving. After watching Saber get beat down by Berserker Shirou put Saber in that category.

He doesn't have that problem in UBW since Saber proves that she's much stronger than he is early on.

If you don't know the opposing material at all, there is no point in making comparisons is there? He didn't have to take that route if he wanted to argue with her about the validity of eroge/VN reflecting male fantasies.

>Also, I don't see how it's impossible to draw any conclusion from a comparison just because they're of two different medias. Basically you're saying "this comparison isn't perfect, let's disregard it completely!".
No, I was objecting more to the fact that they are aimed at two completely different markets and therefore the comparison is far from perfect. Sex in the City represents the fantasies of the average North American female. Do /jp/ posters find that the fantasies of the average North American male appeal to them? I would say no... >Sex in the City represents the fantasies of the average North American female.

No. It represents the average fantasies of middle-to-high-class strata women with no real financial concerns, no future prospects, and very left-leaning philosophical positions.

In other words, it represents the woman that every man in America hates as a stupid bitch with way too much money and too little respect. Also, if you believe any man on that show represents the average American man, that's also wrong.

It's a horrible caricature of modern society. It's like saying Friends represents the average group dynamic.

We work with what we have. No one goes into an argument with omniscience. A lack of perfect knowledge doesn't take away your right to argue.

>No, I was objecting more to the fact that they are aimed at two completely different markets and therefore the comparison is far from perfect
Yes, I can admit that it's not perfect, but I don't believe it's fair to demand that a comparison is perfect for it to have any validity at all. At very least I believe it can be clearly established that there's a large number of representatives from the female gender who are also guilty of idealizing unrealistic clichés in fiction because it feel convenient to them. I don't think there's a need to establish more than that, so finding out whether it's the same with the female equivalent of a /jp/ browser is not needed.

It appeals to a wider audience than that. If you don't agree, then there's not much I can do about that, but I've definitely encountered people outside that demographic bracket who thought it was excellent/wanted to discuss it. More often than not. Unfortunately.

The it derailed to shit. As usual.

How do you know the girl posting was a non-virgin? Isn't that a bit presumptuous?

Um...like two or so years ago, I tried getting into yaoi, but then I realized there was a problem when absolutely none of it turned me on. It was just...all of my friends liked it...and yeah. I even went so far as to like...look at some yaoi animu or something, but it did nothing for me. And don't think I didn't try pictures and doujins. Some of the pairings were cute, but they never...turned me on even remotely.

So one day I get bored, start browsing the internet, (to try to see if there actually is something that succeeds at turning me on) and start randomly downloading some yuri. And loli. And that was success.

And then it was just a gradual process into me becoming whatever it is that I am today.

But I'm not a typical girl or a typical femanon, so I don't think my opinion would work for a general assumption.

Odd. Yuri touched my heart before it ever did anything for my loins. I still don't like most explicit yuri.
