Does anything about this folder reveal my true nature to the uninitiated?

So, you a Macfag or an Opensourcebro? Microsoft is the most popular OS developer in history because it just works better than MacOSX or Linux distro #24601. Sorry to break it to you.

Because they have exclusive contracts with the OEM vendors.
Not interested in taking either side here, but the most popular {anything} isn't necessary the best one.

Windows does what the others simply cannot, no matter how much they try to emulate it or come up with workarounds. Any Macfag worth his salt has an XP partition for when he needs to get any actual work done.

Exactly right.

Depends what you want. Not always for servers. Definitely for games. Not at all for freedom.

Let's bust out the old logic, here.

The most popular is never the best unless it's the only. Ever. Why? Because the alternatives would either have not come into existence or died off if they were not superior. The only way to compete with established power is to offer a superior product. Simple.

Opensourcebro, btw.

Not necessarily. The most popular web server is arguably the best. Alternatives can exist simply because they serve some niche better; not because they are all-round superior.

Linux has no games.

No directx, no flash, shoddy opengl support.

You can play Touhou under Wine quite well, with the exception of SWR and PatchCon. Those two don't work even with DirectX 9 installed. Most VNs should work fine as they aren't exactly complex.

I once tried wine on ubunto for several eroge
None of them worked
And I don't think using virtual machine will be worth my time

And i'm a huge freesoftware fag

>> No.2099031

I play my VNs using a virtual machine. The vast majority work just fine. I use virtual machines for other things (e.g. platforms I can't cross-compile to) anyway.

Lol no DirectX. I wonder why... Adobe have x86_64 Flash now. OpenGL is fine on my setup. Windows Vista also sucked with OpenGL.

Well I'm just assuming. The only VN I tried was Tsukihime, and it works brilliant.

This thread is now about compatibility between OSes for /jp/ games and programs.
