I don't really care about this primary and secondary stuff but Okina was the first Touhou character that made me actually research the IRL lore. It's fascinating how obscure and different she is compared to other gods but maybe that's just me. She just feels special the moment I heard her theme play. I'd love to do real research on Japan, visit the shrines etc but I'm poor and only barely understand Japanese. Hopefully I can do that sometime in the future though.

Strong zero is a cheep alcoholic beverage. Joon's character design is based on the bodycon gyaru from Juliana's Tokyo. These gyaru were often worker women (sometimes christmas cakes) who needed extra money or just wanted to have a night of fun. They're associated with partying and alcohol. That's why the Strong Zero (cheap alcoholic beverage) thing is associated with Joon. There are a lot more ohayous for Joon than any other character besides Seiran/Ringo. If you played the game or read the omake you would know. She's a Sage of Gensokyo like Yukari. The Sages were responsible for the formation of Gensokyo. Her specific ability is to be able to open backdoors anywhere and to manipulate life energy and mental energy. Her manipulation of life energy allows her control over all natural things. She used it to manipulate the seasons and power up everyone in Gensokyo during HSiFS. Her cover up for doing this was that she was looking for replacements for Mai and Satono. This was a lie, however, as her real motive for causing the incident was that she wanted to send a message of her power to everyone (especially the sages) and that she wanted to test the emergency response of Gensokyo. She uses her power over life energy to keep Gensokyo in balance. That same power also allows her to create youkai. She claims that she can remake the entirety of Gensokyo if she wanted to. We know almost nothing about her power over mental energy but it's implied that she used it to gain control over the dancers (basically, mind control). Oh yeah she's associated with back doors because the Buddhist god she's based on, Matarajin, is always worshipped at the ushirodo (back door) of shrines and temples. Other than all this we know nothing about her agenda or backstory. Anyway, PLAY THE GAMES.
