Kotomine is evil in every arc because he wants to hurt people. Regardless of Shirou's moral standards by the end of the arc, it's a nearly universal human concept that hurting others is wrong.

Beg to differ in Heavens Feel route. Kinda agree at his last part when he mentioned a Servant (Angra Manyu) will be rebirth using Sakura as the "mother". What if there is no sacrificial for the rebirth? I guess to forsake an unborn is kinda like abortion.

Shirou is simply stop him because Sakura is the sacrificial lamb, not a hero. Kotomine was born in understanding that "happiness" lies in other peoples suffering, no matter how he struggles to change that fact.

Boundary of good of evil is unclear in this route.

Hence, what Kotomine and Shirou's act is understandable:
each has a reason in opposition, not because they acknowledge that their action is right or wrong.

A devil with goodwill and a saint with a whim for evil.

OK, you've got a point there. However, in HF route, even if Sakura hadn't been the sacrifice for what was about to happen, I think it likely that Shirou would have wanted to stop Kirei anyway. Regardless of route, he doesn't like letting anyone die. Regardless of Nasu's theme and character progression, I don't think Shirou's basic personality traits changed that much from Fate to UBW to HF.

>> No.1991990

If Sakura is not the sacrificial, nobody knows what happens at the ending except by guess.

But one point for sure: without Sakura's sacrificial, then there is no Heavens Feel route.

Once again, WELCOME TO TYPE MOON!

Nasu has te inexplicable ability to create amazingly original and fresh settings and concepts for characters (and how! Just look at Notes) yet when the time comes to have these characters interact or be fleshed out he turns them into generic shounen characters and the ideas that made them interesting in the first place get thow out of the window and replaced by corny romance (in which the girl is ALWAYS the victim of a lonely and tragic past) and bland motivations that could have come form generic saturday morning anime # 2342.

Im still a type-moon fan though. But as I said, I watch it only for the cool aspects of it. Pic related and a good exampe of what Im saying.

Philosophically, Kara no Kyoukai is probably more fleshed out than other Type Moon works. With the first movie you have a clear existential theme, and one can discern Nasu's point when he writes about those who "fly" and those who "float". I think there's still something left to be desired, and the others movies go a little farther off the deep end, but at least it's better than Fate/stay night, in which he is constantly contradicts himself philosophically.

>in which he is constantly contradicts himself philosophically.

Nasu deliberately makes the 3 viewpoints of Shirou to be contradictory.

Fate embodies the ideal and is the dreamer. (This is why Fate Shirou is the most likely to go on to become EMIYA.)
Unlimited Blade Works realizes the ideal, accepts its impossibility, yet tries to take the ideal against reality anyway.
Heaven's Feel accepts the reality and forgoes the impossible ideal.

Okay, folks, let’s talk a little bit about the summer ‘07 show Potemayo, which I just caught the first episode of.

Potemayo
First off? It’s about babies. Okay? Babies. Granted, they’re remarkably mobile and their thought processes are pretty sophisticated, but Potemayo is a freakin’ baby. At least, I sure HOPE all that poofing out is diapers - although since she apparently wet the bed they can’t be very good diapers. Ghetto diapers, I guess.

That said, it’s actually a pretty funny show. The “main character” (who has approximately five lines in the whole first episode) hardly bats an eye at his refrigerator giving birth to a bizarre baby.

Potemayo 1
THE ABOVE IS ALL TRUE. I love the green-haired girl’s character design. But then she opened her mouth, and her shrill screeching voice killed any potential affection at the get-go. Fortunately, the boring-looking brunette’s voice is smexy, and she even turns out to be a character of some significance. Groovy.

Now, some Kaze no Stigma.

Kaze no Stigma 13
The female lead does not appear to be being ironic when she says this. She actually goes on to compare her identical outfits. As a viewer, I felt insulted that the creators actually thought I might find it funny.
