How do u learn japanese?

It's best to focus on learning vocabulary and just using kanas until you have a pretty good grasp of the language and can understand anime and read japanese manga and light novels that have furigana and just leave kanjis to later when you're confident on japanese and simply learn them over time?

My goals would be to watch anime without subs, play some japanese rpg maker eroges and talk to japanese online on their chans and newtouyo.

>> No.19700651

Read a fucking book and listen to people talk. Bonus point if you have a functional conversation with the natives or people that can moonspeak.

How do you learn English or your native language? It is exactly the same method. Read, Listen and Talk.

yeah, but that implies simply to learn the vocabulary first and being able to read kana (I already can read kana).

It seems kanjis should only be learned once you can speak and understand japanese.

You don't even know English.

Yes. Therefore, study vocabs and read books to understand simple sentence structures. Get at least Yotsuba& or Chibi Maruko-chan and read it. If you do not know any word, look it up in a dictionary. It is pretty simple. Don't over complicate stuff that is not to begin with.

Also, good luck finding a light novel or novel with furigana in it. 98% of the time, you will face failures finding such miracle.

Watch a shitload of anime to learn vocabulary and sentence structure as well as speaking patterns. Spend lots of time doing karaoke to get proficient and fast at reading.

Look up ajatt and matt vs Japan. Get rtk. Basically you learn everything in context from sentence mining. If you want to sound like a native you avoid early output.

Get remembering the Kanji. Learn it using the lazy Kanji method. There is no point trying to memorize a Kanji English translation out of context. Youre going to forget most of the Kanji anyways since you don't speak Japanese yet and have no way of understanding their actual meanings in Japanese. After you finish rtk lazy method, start sentence mining from anime, book, everywhere. You should be immersing yourself in Japanese audio every step of the way.

step 1. learned hiragana using realkana and kana invaders
step 2. learned a bunch of japanese vocabulary using anki, memrise and japaneseclass.jp
step 3. read both of the genki textbooks to learn grammar
step 4. learned sentences using anki deck

No it isn't, and even if it was, you should become proficient in one language before attempting to learn another.

>> No.19728694

You need a good base of grammar and vocabulary to start to be able to understand things. Get a textbook and study. Grammar and vocabulary. Do exercises. Listening, reading and writing. You'll need discipline and try to be as efficient as possible without burning out.

Learn kanji at the same time you learn new words. I'm not sure it's even possible to learn to speak and understand without learning Kanji at the same time anyway.

This is simply not possible lol
