Which parts of the Touhou games would you want to see animated the most?
For me its the Extra and Phantasm stage of PCB. I'd also really like to see just how an anime adaption of Highly Responsive to Prayers would be like.

12-episode OVA series, split into three 4-ep parts.

PCB, MoF, and SA are my votes. Just because the idea of a Dante's Inferno-esque descent into Hell being told as SA's story would be fantastic.

I vote IN as well. The story of IN is just so good, but then again, it is based on actual japanese mythology. LOLK would also make for a good anime (and yeah I know that was also based on Chinese/Japanese mythology.

I feel like SA, UFO and LoLK translate the best to an actual show as in they have a story worth telling. SA is a ride from start to finish actually descending to hell with your sidekicks. UFO you're actually not barreling around pointlessly for once and facing directly story related enemies from the start and LoLK is much the same as UFO but with huge stakes instead whereas UFO is a pretty breezy adventure story.

As interesting as IN is and large a roster you have to work with. The first half is basically just banter with nothing happening then it gets to an all out war in the second half. Ironically that is actually what Memories of Phantasm did but that shows direction and writing leaves a lot to be desired.

Also, Byakuren's stage and EoSD just because they have a cool atmosphere.

I don't want any studio that gives the "older" characters makeup or uses red-colored claws.

I want and need a Bougetsushou anime. It's a really neat story, the ending of CiLR gave me chills.

I don't want to see the games animated. You'd have to either add a lot of filler or change the plot to get it animated. Now, WaHH or FS or VFiS, on the other hand, are very much perfect for a slice of life series.

Just expand Memories of Phantasm to actually include all of the fights, and a proper adaption of PoFV. Although I enjoyed the PoFV arc, I really wish they would have actually followed the games because Shiki Eiki is my favorite last boss. Sakuya and Remilia + Flandre are fine though.
