Uh... just finished Tsukihime for the first time on Arcuied's path where she goes back to sleep to save Shiki from herself. It was a lot of reading, the ero-scenes were dodgy and I think I got every bad end possible, but it was lovely.

I would like to warn you though, OP, that after you get into the Far Side of the Moon routes, you will never look at Kohaku the same way again.

Not getting into spoilers, but I discovered Tsukihime thanks to Melty Blood... and I had to shift from maining Kohaku to Akiha after that.

OP again, I couldn't get the music to play on my first run through, so I probably lost some of the impact.
The readme I got with the download writes about buying the actual CD, ripping the music and then putting it into the programme... 'buy' being the key word.

Could /jp/ recommend to me a suitable download for the music?

I lurked /a/ many moons ago (why I always wanted to play the game), so I know Near Moon is the stranger stuff in Shiki's story... Does it go further into the stuff that's just below the surface in Arc's route?

The Near Side of the Moon is the part of the story which involves vampires, and it holds explanations about them and other foreign elements. Arcuied's and Ciel's backgrounds are explained.

The Far Side of the Moon is mostly about Shiki's normal life. The stories here expand on the mysteries surrounding his life, and the people related to him.

Different Anon here, who's about to start Tsukihime (slowpoke.flac). Should I get the alternate soundtrack from /rs/ (once it's back up) to play it? Or does it remove some of Tsukihime's feel, for someone who's just started?

OP again, reflecting on Tsukihime in work today. It was a lot more... 'something' than I expected it to be. It changed the way I thought and felt about the world.

Like Shiki, I had been striving for simple engagement with the world. I kinda lost track of myself for a few days; I was going back to the bad old days. Finishing the game forced me to change my perceptions.

Shiki would have done anything for Arc. I was in a great relationship that I had become very blasé about, to the point of laziness. I realised I was being a fucktard and I apologised. Took her out for dinner today, brought her home, then we fucked like animals.

So, last night, /jp/anons saved my life.
