Interactive eroge tend to have shitty or frustrating gameplay. Utawarerumono has good gameplay if you're into strategy RPGs (on higher difficulties), but there are two kinds of eroge:
1) Stories with ero tacked on
2) Ero with stories tacked on

If you're in for the fapping, you want 2. 1 is horrible for fapping.

Sort of like how UBW and HF were much better than Fate until we got the translations and realized they were absolute shit. Based on enjoyability I think Tsukihime is the best hentai game. There are games with more and better hentai scenes but the overall product sucks. It's sort of like comparing well done hardcore pornography to a really well done sex scene with talented actors in a good movie.

It's not really a dating sim if it doesn't have that simulation aspect. Which is about seeing some kind of numbers going up due to something.

Tamatama was the most recent I encountered that was like that. It was horribly repetitive with cute art and creepily enough the main heroine was named after her voice actress. Who hasn't done anything else ever since and the company seems to be dead too.
