Kickstarter wariness is always a good thing to have, but they're being made by some place that's done plushie projects before. Symbiote Studios, they've done shit for Undertale and that one furry Smash Bros ripoff game. I don't personally own any of them, but my cousin has the Undertale plushie and says that it's good, so idk.

They put up stretch goals a while back. List goes Sora > Starbreaker > QP > Hime every $8,000 past their initial goal. They have in between goals between the first three extra plushies as well though, with plushies coming with their Hyper cards if the first is unlocked, and their unit cards if the second is unlocked. Third one gives Poppo a plushie of a star to put in her pouch. OJ is pretty niche and it's not like they're gaining over $10k a day, so it's not like they need to plan THAT far out, I'm honestly a little worried about if they'll reach Starbreaker or not.

Dang it. Its niche, but seems like it sold a lot on steam, probably because it is so cheap. So it should at least get a lot of exposure for the kick starter for those that keep tabs on it. Its also on sale right now.

Looked at some other plush kickstarters, and with how it has been going so far, it should get to 45k at least. Not sure if they will have more goals or if they will just start manufacturing new ones regardless.

They say that they'll do other campaigns for other plushies or create more and sell them based on the results of this campaign, but yeah, it'd be nice to see how many plushies they could squeeze out of this campaign. And they're asking for an $8k minimum to start the production of the extra plushies to cover production costs. People just kept suggesting cards as a bonus or an add-on, and they put them up at $4k middle points between goals since the production cost for cards isn't too high apparently. The cards themselves haven't taken up a plushie spot.

Keep in mind, the all-time-high player count for 100% OJ itself is just shy of 1,000 players, so it's not like it has the biggest fanbase in the world to rely on. Player count spikes with every event though, and the Valentine's Day event should start up soon, so maybe there'll be a surge in pledges around then.

ALL-TIME-HIGH. The average play count is around 200 on non-event times. Getting around HALF of the average regular player count to buy your merch is impressive in itself desu. Granted there's other OJ games other than 100%, and there's probably some sort of Japanese player base too, but OJ is nowhere near 2hu levels.

I like the series, don't get me wrong, just don't want to get overhyped. Depending on how the player base reacts during Valentine's Day event, it's POSSIBLE to reach all the goals, but they'd REALLY need to go all out and not just have some small V-Day event like the dice thing, something to really capture attention.

There's a big /v/ lobby that's pretty regular, but it'd be nice to play with a designated /fumo/ friends server. If you ever see a private lobby with a 4channy name though, "rage" is the password nine times out of ten.

When you start, focus on getting card packs to expand your deck. Everyone's deck gets dumped into a pool of cards that is used for drawing cards. This sounds weird at first, but there's a strategy to it. For instance, some characters have abilities that would make otherwise crap cards into a benefit, like a "steals all your cards" trap card being able to remove cards from a character that takes damage when they have to discard a card. Try to guess and be mindful that your cards aren't more useful for other people. "Pudding" is a card that heals you to maximum HP. While this card is very useful in late game, if you're playing a low HP character like Peat who has only 3HP, you might be better off putting smaller recovery cards into the deck, that way someone with a higher HP pool like someone with 6HP wouldn't receive more benefit. Also, try to pick cards that specialize you instead of trying to middle out. Suguri gets -1 to Defense rolls and +2 to evade rolls. Instead of putting in cards like Rbits that increase Defense but sacrifice her ability to dodge, pick cards that sacrifice her already crap defense for higher evasion or attack. Reverse Attribute Field is a card that reverses the stat mods on characters, which would make Peat's +1/+1/+1 mods into a terrible -1/-1/-1, but would make Poppo's -1/-1/-1 into a perfect all around +1/+1/+1. A lot of people get dissuaded because they think it's all RNG, and while that's true to an extent, there are a lot of ways to stack the deck in your favor and to control risk.

Oh yeah, and card packs aren't endless. Once you get 9 copies of a card, it is removed from the card pack pool. So even if you get unlucky and aren't drawing that rare card you want, the odds will get better and better as you pull, and you can eventually brute force your way through it and get every card possible in case you have the worst luck possible. It's pretty easy to max out on packs too, it shouldn't take forever to accomplish it.

My Yakumos still haven't arrived from Japan. I ordered from AmiAmi by EMS and my shipments have always come very quickly. However I completed payment on Jan 15 and it said shipment was being prepared on the 16th. It supposedly was dispatched from the outward office of exchange in Tokyo on the 18th but my tracking has never been updated since then and apparently the package never made it to the US. I contacted AmiAmi but they said they can't do anything with Japan Post until February 6th since EMS is supposed to allow for 4 weeks (even though it usually gets there very quickly).

I just want my soft. The Yakumos and Kokoro are probably lonely in a box somewhere. Yuyuko wants her friend!

Starbreaker is the final boss of Sora, so you could play that instead. It's definitely not a Touhou game though, it's more of an action-combat type of shmup in my opinion. I'd compare it to Astebreed, but less attack spammy.

QP Dangerous is the game that's more like a Touhou game, with the added gimmick of being able to equip different bullet patterns that you can swap between, with each having alt forms depending on if you're in focus or not. QP Dangerous is probably the easiest transition to OJ games if you're a Touhou fan. 100% is just some party game they put out as an anniversary project that ended up getting really popular among Western customers for some reason.

I didn't even play OJ past the demo and I want a Starbreaker, I really like her design. Am I the only one creeped out by the Suguri plush though? Her eyes look like they could shoot lasers at any moment, they look demonic. I like the plushes as they are though, all floppy and fat and stuff. I'll consider backing it but I've never played Suguri or it's sequel and I'm strapped for cash.

It's hard but in a different way. Whereas Touhou is bullet hell and requires a lot of memorization for some parts, Suguri/Sora is hard in a combat management kinda way. Like, if you don't clear enemies and wuss out a bunch, the screen is just going to get more crowded. Dash and Heat mechanic is a core part of the game too. Basically, you can dash through lasers, which will give you meter for specials, but using your dash a lot builds Heat, which is a damage modifier for your character. So, for example, if you dashed through a laser barrage instead of manually dodging them, then flew right into a missile, you might get killed in a single blow. I think it's easier to git gud at the combat for them than Touhou bullet hell dodging though. You unlock stuff from plays too, so if you get shat on 30 times on one stage, you'd unlock stuff eventually, even if it's fastrr to do the normal requirements with high scores. If you played Touhou games, QP and Xmas Shooting are waaay more similar, but Suguri and Sora are still pretty fun. Rockin' Android published Red Barrel and Suguri and Acceleration of Suguri 1, but I've heard of issues with save files and crap like that for Suguri 1. Fruitbat Factory kinda took over after that, so that's why the original Suguri games aren't in bundles and stuff like that. Still worth it for the bosses though imo. Good luck anon.

One of my fumos has an inverted bump on her face (a "depression" would be the correct term here I suppose). She came in like this, and while it's not something that can be really seen unless you'd touch her face meticulously I know it's there.
Would there be an easy way to fix that? Anyone has experienced with these sorts of things? I wouldn't want to disfigure her. When I watched that video about washing fumo I couldn't help thinking how brutal the whole thing seems.

With the release of Ran 1.5, I'd hazard a guess that the rarest character now is Meiling. I think Kaguya is probably close behind, then maybe Sanae and Cirno. I think pretty much everyone else that has a fumo either had a re-release or a 1.5 in the past few years, and all the old rare fumos (Mokou, Ran) are no longer very rare. Of course this is only referring to the characters themselves and not the original iteration of fumos like original Sanae vs the second version of Sanae.

I would have loved to see a Meiling re-release with the recent run on SDM characters. I think she might be relegated to the realm of rarity though, considering Patchy, Sakuya, Remi, and Flan have all had recent releases (1.5, Kourindos, and a re-release) and we've gotten nothing for China.

Mokou seems to be a bit fond of Reisen judging by ULiL and AoCF, calls her Reisen-chan and is happy when Dream Reisen wants to fight. Reisen's smile helps balance Mokou's sad fumo face. Reisen seems to be pretty available too, her v2 seems to be up for sale often.

But I am biased, they're my favorite characters and two of my first fumos so I have a big soft spot gor them. Ultimately it's up to you. I'd recommend getting a character you like. Kaguya would make a good partner too but she's pretty rare now.

Not him, but I actually did forget this. Makes me feel a bit easier about Rbits. I doubt they'll put up another, though, because they'd need the Kickstarter itself to hit 65k first.

welp, we already hit the bomb. Have a little over 10 days to get the rest, and if we adhere to the general $2k or $1.5k a day average that we're bouncing between, Rbits seem pretty sturdy before even considering the Paypal pledges. This Kickstarter surpassed my expectations. They already said they'd do future ones based on reaction to this one, and this one seems to have done well.

Will note that Fruitbat has already changed both Suguri and Poppo to the revised look on the main campaign page for the Kickstarter, kek, they're pushing pretty heavy for it. Revised is winning the poll too, so look forward to a more standard and less imposing Suguri and Poppo.
