Just gonna throw out a few predictions here.
Reimu will still be #1, Marisa and Koishi might end up swapping places with how close they usually are. The rest of the top 10 will still probably be roughly the same. Since they have enough dedicated fans the most voted characters will barely ever change.
Out of the new character I expect that Shion and Aunn are the only two that might break the top 20 and Narumi and Jo'on might do alright.
Personally im hoping one day Marisa might come in first again. She did a few times in the early years of the polls but those days are far gone. I can still dream though. Oh yeah, and I think the Fortune Teller is going to go down places despite the support for him I see around here.

Its actually because AoCF just released that I think she might make it that high, since she's fresh in everyone's minds and is currently getting a ton of fanart that will no doubt drop off after a few weeks. Maybe top 20 is a bit generous but I do expect her to do fairly well for a new character.

Hard too tell since playable status doesnt guarantee more popularity and her playable status isnt exactly new at this point. If anything though she is one of the few characters that actually has the potential to break into the top 10. Reisen fans need too lobby hard too make that happen!

Oh yeah another thing I also didnt mention was Cirno. Despite the extravaganza that was Tanned Cirno I really dont see her changing positions all too much. Still, you cant go wrong with the increase in tanned fairy doujins.

Looking at past results and noticed something interesting about the top characters.

Youmu from the last poll, she had the second highest number of 1st place votes, not even that far behind Reimu easily eclipsing Marisa, Sakuya, Flandre and Koishi yet finished only in 4th place.

So that basically means most people who don't have Youmu as their favourite isn't even mentioning her. Seems Youmu fandom is a all in or all out thing. Inversely Reisen is basically the opposite, she gets a tons of nominations so lots like her but very few people actually love her as their favourite 2hu.

I don't really see Reimu as particularly developed compared to, say, the IN characters, could you elaborate? ITT people not knowing what the word shilling means.
ZUN using whatever characters he wants in his works is part of what makes the series great. He doesnt cave too what the fandom demands and still does his own thing and sticks too his own vision. People can keep bitching about Mamizou and Sumireko all they want but I prefer having them appear instead of ZUN just using whose popular and having EoSD characters in absolutely everything like the majority of the fanbase would prefer. I bet the people complaining that ZUN is "shilling" Mamizou and Sumireko would have no problems if their favorite character appeared just as frequently (assuming the dont already).
