Once again, Doddler drops everything he's doing to fix a shitty Sekai release for free, on Christmas eve, right after complaining about how he doesn't have time for all the projects he's being paid to work on.

That or he's one of those people who hates to see a game ruined by shoddy "professional" work so out of some misguided kindness he fixes it so the fans don't have to suffer. I can certainly empathize with that. Too bad Sekai Project has no incentive to ever get their act together if people keep giving them money and then fixing their mistakes for them. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Enabling Sekai Project's shitty behavior can only end poorly for everyone. It would be better in the long run if a handful of games got butchered now and it tarnished Sekai Project's reputation, eventually putting them out of business, saving as of yet unlicensed games from suffering the same fate. The longer this cancer is allowed to live the more damage it will do.

Indeed they did, and I'm not going to defend it, but they doesn't have people who hate their consumers making decisions (AFAIK) like SP does >>18090407 where as long as it isn't a kickstarter, they'll put in the bare minimum of effort. And that's just one example of Dovac complaining about everything. CC was another disappointment, and that's not even mentioning the constant delays. Grisaia 18+ is what, 7 or so months behind, and Leyline was delayed 4 or so times and still has untranslated text, along with Hoshimemo.

>>18090622
Even so, it seems to be a pretty significant nistake to make for a release, but at least I can say it MAY just be a mistake with MG, but maybe not. If it were SP, it would just be sheer laziness since they make the bulk of their profit by doing kickstarters, and not by actually releasing VNs.

And then there are a lot of games that would remain unlicensed forever- I know for a fact that MG would never have dared to pick up maitetsu 18+ for example, and SP did- which is pretty brave of them. Wagahigh was delayed but was perfectly acceptable quality when it released. They CAN do it, they just need to DO it. I personally don't give a fuck about delays, just don't release a delayed product STILL buggy. That's their biggest problem recently.

No localization company is perfect, but what the hell are you talking about? MG doesnt have a problem with 18+ versions or lolis, and released a lot VNs with them already. Granted some only had 1 girl, but nonetheless there really isn't a fear that you're trying to create here. If you want to talk about brave, MG translating Imouto Paradise 1 and 2 is impressive since they have lolis, incest AND are uncensored. Not to say MG is perfect, because they definitely aren't.
I'll be surprised if SP doesn't cut out the lolis from Maitetsu, but time will tell. For example, SP is still translating the 18+ version of Grisaia after 7 months and counting after the all ages release.

>> No.18091150

>>18091137
not that anon but MG does have a problem with Loli's. All of their actual lolige titles have been released censored with mosaics for an undisclosed reason. I believe all the ones they released were ammolite titles, which is why I don't give a shit about the upcoming ammolite title they have since it'll probably be censored as well.

I could just be horribly mistaken though.

I flat out asked Kouryuu a couple of years ago if they'd consider picking up monobeno. He pretty much gave a flat "No", without any room for interpenetration, because it falls into actual red backpack territory. Several other people from the industry (I won't say who to protect their privacy) have expressed some level of concern about the 18+ version of maitetsu, due to potential legal ramifications.

>> No.18091166

Wait. Is this an official message from Sekai Project? Well as official as Discord or whatever can be.

And if so did he seriously try to justify the lack of quality assurance, with the fact that the game was too broken to justify it?
Just imagine if he was dealing with food or something. Skipping quality assurance because his food was just too contaminated. Telling people to accept his shipment as it is or not at all and claiming that people's standards are too high.

I really hate them.

>> No.18091169

I personally don't understand the obsession with having mosaics removed- does it really matter that much? Are you incapable of getting off without seeing what are in many cases, not very attractive genitcals (see: anything circus, or PE for example). Unless the decensor is really good (rare)I'd rather see mosaics instead.

>> No.18091181

>>18091150
its not just the lolige, a lot of their low-price games like that still have mosaics because the devs don't care to keep the assets around

>> No.18091187

>>18091150
Well, if we're talking about lolige, then Maitetsu isn't really one. Hell, even Monobeno barely qualifies in my view.

Neither SP or MG have the courage to translate an actual, full-blown lolige like 小女ラムネ or 通心ぼ. I suppose I can't really blame them, either.

>>18091163
Maitetsu isn't really a lolige, though. Tons of scenes with cowtits and the usual excuses can be made for (most) of the loli characters. Also, a great majority of the title is focused on boring infodumps about trains. I'm not really sure why anyone would get their panties in a bunch about 18+ Maitetsu, it's comparable to, say, Ultimate Boob Wars in regards to the sexual content. Monobeno, though, I can understand. Even if that title only *just* qualifies for a lolige; a great majority of the H in that title are segmented from the actual title, and around half or more of the game is made up of perfectly adult-looking women fucking the protagonist. And yet I suppose some of the content with Natsuha would certainly give some companies pause. Regardless, most of Maitetsu isn't even focused on anything one would associate with practically every other lolige out there. I'm quite certain 90% of the people who meme on about Monobeno or Maitetsu would be bored to tears from those titles - especially the retards who go on-and-on about "muh smug lolis" and the sexual trait tags in Natsuha's profile.

>>18091169
Sometimes it works out well. I'm pretty impressed by the uncensored stuff in ImoPara 2.

>> No.18091189

>>18091150
Ammolite just doesn't want MG to uncensor their titles, or give MG the assets AFAIK, which is pretty simple to me. Although it's nice to see things uncensored, it's really not like genitals are well drawn in most VNs (ImoPara has surprisingly well drawn genitals for example). Has SP even released anything uncensored in recent memory?
>>18091166
Not an official message, but from Dovac on discord. He complains about things in twitter too a ton. I think Wagamama was the most recent thing he complained about saleswise.
Didn't he used to be the head of SP, or am I remembering wrong?

>> No.18091192

>>18091163
No idea what you mean by legal ramifications, it's legal in several states in USA and they already have disclaimers setup which say "check to make sure the content in this VN are legal in your area before consuming".

>>18091169
VN's are (were originally) censored because it was(and still is) illegal to have them uncensored. Companies are now given chances to release their product the way it was (originally, no idea how devs feel nowadays) meant to be. If I wanted to read a visual novel with mosaics, I'd just read the japanese release or some fan translation/text hooker it if I was having difficulty.

Okay Imagine Left 4 Dead. That's a pretty common title that people have played. Now imagine if it was created in germany and got a western release, except now all the gore is gone because "who cares it's just some blood and it's illegal in germany". Yeah it's just blood and everything else is still there but to me it still really dampens the experience. If I play an eroge, I want eroge elements and I want them uneutered if it's possible. And also because mosaics look so fucking garbage 90% of the time that they ruin the entire fucking CG. The only mosaics i've actually not been bothered by has been Wagamama High Spec's because of how minimal it is. it's just a line through one spot, it's not blurring half the fucking CG. Seeing mosaics to me just ruins the art way worse than badly drawn genitals do.

Both Hoshimemo and LeyLine don't seem to have useful info as far as concurrent users goes thanks to most users appearing not being tracked because of Sekai's need to use Locale Emulator. That game uses the freeware YU-RIS engine, which is pretty common and has been extensively reversed. A lot of tools can deal with it, some titles have xor obfuscation but that shouldn't really deter any half-competent reverser.

I recommend the tool GARbro by morkt from the russian scene because it's easy to extend and upstream is very responsive to queries. Said tool has full support for YU-RIS including repacking, but it has not been tested on this particular game as of yet. That should at least give you an extracted script to get the ball rolling.

At the moment, Japanese VNs, especially bigger titles, haven't really ran into any problems on Steam yet besides the new R18 patch policy. With Steam facing the risk of a block though, they certainly could begin to take more drastic steps to try to appease Chinese censors with more significant consequences.

As to the effects of an actual block, it would be complicated and vary from game to game, but for Japanese VNs at least, the general result would be less money for English VN publishers who have been getting some Chinese sales on purely English releases (most moege released on Steam have some number of simplified Chinese reviews) and sharper declines for some titles (most short meme titles, Degica VNs) that included simplified Chinese to directly target the market (Steamspy geography data indicates more than 60% of Nekopara Volume 3 sales were to China). More drastically it would kill the SakuraGame model so there is that, and mainly Chinese targeted companies like Hikari Field would no longer find themselves with a market.

https://www.inquisitr.com/4690282/dies-irae-season-2-release-date-confirmed-2018-anime-ova-end-visual-novel-story-episode-12-17/

>The overall anime will be 18 episodes in total, but Dies Irae Season 2 (or the second cour) will actually be composed of six Dies Irae OVA episodes. According to the official website, Episodes 12 through 17 will be released by studio A.C.G.T. in web streaming format with no TV broadcast. The announcement did not specify which website will be carrying the second season nor whether English subtitles will be available. (This article will be updated once more details are confirmed.)

>Besides web streaming, Dies Irae Season 2 will also be released as a Blu-Ray box set on July 13, 2018. Costing 15,800 yen (excluding tax), Dies Irae Volume 3 includes all six OVA episodes in addition to original drawings and interviews.

While they were mad about the translation itself, that's unrelated to the issue the image presents. Japanese character words in a game should be converted into English or at least romanji.
