Finally finished Reina's route in Making Lovers, which will also be the only route I'll be playing for now.

Let's start with the good thing: It's funny. It really is. Unfortunately, that's it. Either this game has the wrong structure, or the wrong content.
Comedy works really good with groups. After all, for things to be funny, you need at least 2 characters harmonizing, and if you have ONLY two, that's just getting very limited. Most of the really good comedy VNs and series use small groups rather than just two people to create the funny situations.
Making Lovers however uses a structure that's heavily focused on JUST the heroine and protag. This is fine for a dating sim, or perhaps heavily romance themed works. For comedy however... it's suboptimal. I was surprised how well the game still worked with all its faceless support characters and whatnot. But I still found the scenes including the sister the best in this route. A bit more established and major character just really help and keep things fresh.

Outside of comedy there was some random "drama" at the end of both parts. The first one was utterly random, short and had no relevance, while the final "plot" also comes out of nowhere and is quite frankly unnecessary and unfitting. If the other routes are similar, it would probably better for them to scrap the "no group" idea in their next title, if they want to go that heavily for comedy. Or offer something else more frequently. As it was, I was really missing a hook. Something that makes me want to come back. It was funny, yeah, but... really nothing else.

That said, still a pretty good VN. I just tried Kizuna Kirameku Koi Iroha, and god damn is that bad. Images that are way too frequently shown upscaled (bilinar) to the point, the bicubic fullscreen option doesn't even matter as shit is blurry all the time anyway. Meh heroines. Somehow explanations for some word in each of the game's first fucking three lines or so, as that's totally how to start a VN. Infodumps about irrelevant shit, most of which you can guess anyway. I know VNs are quite commonly having shitty beginnings, but oh my god. Compared to something like that, I'm really satisfied with Making Lovers. At least, I had a very fun time.

Ako is only really good like that in Reina's route, since she doesn't get to meet the other girls. And Ako's route itself is easily the most boring route in the game.

And I concur, seeing Ako get rekt was easily the highlight of that game. I especially liked how Reina called out Ako-chan on TV. Talk about twisting the knife.

Kisaku goes pretty hard in showing how hard the rape and stuff mentally fucks with the heroines heads. I felt Shuusaku kind of did it too but not to the extent that Kisaku did. There's pretty much at least one scene with all the heroines where you see them mentally break down, whether that leads to them pretty much going insane or stuff like suicide attempts

Kisaku can be a pretty funny game, though. This scene really cracked me up.

Would work better as something that's not a VN. Kina feels like she's mentally still in middle school, or perhaps even grade school, while the third "heroine" is a little kid with a mom who feels more helpless than her child. I can't see a romantic angle there. At all. Helping them as a teacher/mentor kind of thing? Yes. But that's where it stops. Unfortunate for me I guess. Because if nothing changes, Hayate's route is all I'll ever play.

Not appearance. Personality. Did you even read what I wrote? If this'd not be a VN with ero including routes most likely also forcing romantic developments, I'd be fine with the cast and story. But alas, with over half of them being mentally just not ready for that stuff, in my opinion at least, it isn't for me.
Of course, for other people that's less of an issue. For example plenty of lolige out there, which have to sell to some people as well. But to me it just doesn't work.

To refer to Nia's words: She doesn't know if she can get pregnant of a human. They all just died too fast for that. Though she won't do that to the protag, as she's past that time. She only takes a little. And yes, of course that implies she's not a virgin. Having been quite good with the sexual way of eating humans in the past anyway.
It's actually so refreshing to actually have the hundreds of years old goddess/devil/whatever not be a virgin for once..

Not sure where the game even goes though. For now it's just "these three girls got possessed by evil shit and you gotta do it with one of them to fix that". Sucks(?) if you got your exorcism power by a devil I guess? Just one is enough though. But this choosing part gets over pretty fast so far and only includes "foreplay" with the girl in question anyway, so... the route gotta have something else.
Nia does have a route though, even though she's kinda outside of the "choose a girl" thing. Has the least CG, but she is on the cover... so I dunno. I can imagine her joining with other girls... or possessing a heroine for shits and giggles. She already showed, she can do that and she is that kinda girl.

Ehh, I think that's just a lame excuse. Considering how the MC is the first one in his bloodline to treat her the way he does, they could've easily made up some bs to justify her becoming pregnant. You are looking at this the wrong way. Nia did "eat" human souls in the past (= killing them), until an ancenstor of the protag defeated her in battle after many hard fights or something. There she ended up making a contract that she'd no longer attack humans and in exchange get "bad spirits" fed by the protag's family line.
The way she was doing the eating is simply, mostly, a sexual thing for her. She was the most confident with that. So humans were simply her prey.

I don't know if this is a "pregnant" game, but there's room/possibility for it. Without even going into cheesy territory of "love". Although that is also possible. She is super weak against compliments, which even makes sense with her having been a not exactly complimentable devil for most of her live, and most others probably just feared her, for good reason. I'm quite interested myself where they go with her. Always funny when you play a semi-nukige and stay for the plot/characters. But that's exactly why I tried this, after enjoying Hyakki Ryouran in a similar way.

Done with Hayate's route.

First I'd like to speak a little about the production. It's really awkward.
The art looks sometimes super different with some CG, as if different artists draw different CGs. Of the SAME character. It's not that weird for that to happen with different characters, but this was just... weird. Likewise, why is face-art at the textbox blurry, while the sprites (with the same face) are bigger and NOT blurry?
The sound effects barely exist. Many things just don't have anything, as if it's just missing, as the text also doesn't really take care of the gap. An easy example is a ringing phone. Maybe bugged? The few which were there sucked.
There's some good voice acting in this, especially Hayate's role convinced me. But there's zero volume normalization, resulting into some scenes being easily three times as loud as "normal" scenes.
Someone talked about crashes, but I've not had any of that. The lipsync however that was mentioned is really weird. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Voiced line changes while the old one isn't finished and mouth is still open? Mouth stays open.

So yeah, it's not too nice. The voice thing is probably the most annoying. The drama of this game is not good. Be it common or the route. Add to that ear shattering volumes that pop up without a warning... and you get yourself something really not enjoyable. Even apart of the drama often coming sudden and it feeling like the stars have to align for THAT to happen. They really overdramatized. A lot. And you still get backpedaling or things get solved within 2 minutes.. which is highly unlikely when you heavily overact things at first.

What was good? Mostly Hayate's gradual change. I really enjoyed that. The reasonable amount of pov changes also helped. Unfortunately the later part of her change falls towards the final parts of her route, which was drama heavy and as such not good. So while the route isn't bad for quite a while.. it will get silly. Unfortunately it's a very "meh VN" esque route, meaning it ditches several things that were important in the common route as well, like the teaching thing. The more I was reading this, the more I felt that this would've worked better as a LN, or as a VN with a staircase route model, like Golden Hour, Newrin, Leyline and so on used.

I was still positively surprised compared to what I expected before the first opinions about it came. For nukige writers, this was a nice try. The drama however... is a bit eh. They probably need to put a little more thought into it and use it a little less randomly. It's a typical moege issue. Just like the way they did the drama, with overdramatizing, too fast resolution and/or backpedaling. But, I feel even for moege it's not exactly good if it happens, and this didn't even want to be one.

Fun fact: Clicking on "..." does funny things. I recognized that a little too late though. Or it starts relatively late.

As for skipping her route... it's quite possible that she'll be the only interesting route to play, when you get through common. It's obviously different for everyone, but the other two heroines don't feel good as heroines to me. Good characters, but not good as heroines. Hayate feels like the obvious choice when it comes to a possible love interest, which is part of why I think a LN or staircase system would've worked better. She moves in pretty early already during common, too.

As for Kazokei... I've read a little but not enough to talk about it. There's no major makeshift family thingy happening in Yoruboku though. At least not during the route I played.

It's like a mix of kazokei and ymk. Each of the three heroines have a different problem around them, and it is up to MC and the power of his dick to set them straight.

It does a few interesting things, like the one-line pov shifts that let you see what the heroines are thinking from time to time.

Finished my first playthrough of Amayui, man I love Eushully games. Rairin and Riche were best.

I didn't get the "true" A route because I wasn't fucked to level up the stupid dragon loli cunt and it was too late by the time I realized it and started levelling her up. I guess I'll do an NG+ for that and another one for the B route.

I'm not too sure how I feel about the story either. It felt like plot twists on top of plot twists just for the sake of plot twists. None of them really felt like they were groundbreaking or well thought-out, which was a little disappointing. I want to say Kamidori had a better story, but thinking back on it, it wasn't really that different. Just your usual stop being racist propaganda I guess.

The main point of the game isn't really the story anyway I suppose and I did enjoy the RPG elements quite a lot. It's like starting a new Pokemon game, it's a totally different setting but the way the game plays is still familiar and there's some nifty new features like undoing turns and whatnot. Nostalgic but refreshing, a very enjoyable experience. Hopefully the bugbug append gets uploaded somewhere soon, otherwise I'll try to buy it next time I'm in Japan.

Kami no Rhapsody is your friend. Barely a mainstory (which is still shit, but only really there in the last chapter and beginning). In exchange you have tons of scenes for the whole cast. And I mean tons. Each new chapter you get new scenes. So many, you don't see them all, as they share the place, so you need to do a map of your choice, quit/clear it and trigger the next ones.
Some of the later appearing characters are totally uninteresting, as you have more than enough already anyway, but those that are there from pretty early on can grow on you quite a bit. Regardless on when they join. Best crab in video games is also in that game. (Didn't need the ero myself though..) Main heroines being not the most interesting matters less as well, with them not being THAT important. (they get the most lewds though, but otherwise don't actually have much more stuff going for them)
One specific side character should've been main in that game though, but she was just too late to the party I guess.

I tried it myself in Amayui and the problem is just, that it's not hard. What you say there is how it continues. Enemies are damage sponges, but not dangerous. You are more forced to element counter their attacks, but if you do, their damage is still not worth talking about. Killing them however...
Combine that with big rooms full of enemies and enemy portals, you only being allowed to move one square per turn and so on, and you get forced to "door combat" all the time. You put your tank at the door, the enemy will attack the closest unit (the one in the door), while you spend way too much time to kill everything. There are also some "really not for hard mode" things, like when you play the fancy "defensive" maps with the defense objects you have. Those aren't adapted for hardmode. So what do you do? Door combat. Again. Evasion is also close to useless. And so on and so forth.

It's very bad. Maybe on ng+ it's more interesting. But not ng. Rhapsody has a different issue. One mechanic is just broken/shit, and it removes that for the enemy. That'd just end up being even more frustrating than it already can be. If you are gonna suffer through that mechanic, the enemy better does as well. In my opinion.

Decided to read the (rather short) trial for 眠れぬ羊と孤独な狼 and I'm actually pretty excited for the whole game now, I guess it got rid of most introductions already and what's left is a fairly interesting plot promising underground mafia wars and survival through many groups.
Character designs and music are extremely on point too and the MC monologues tend to be interesting in general, especially in the one sex scene he had.

It seems that a lot of games by Elf seem to have a recurring theme of people meeting and talking with ghosts/spirits This sort of theme ends up playing into games like Kisaku and even manages to poke its head in Boku no kanojo wa gatenkei. I've also heard that this aspect plays also a bit with the Maro series (though I haven't read those games yet). I guess that it's just a quirk of the writer, but it's pretty interesting seeing this same theme pop up in different games like that.

I guess the one downside to listening to radios and interviews and such is that you might start paying more mind to the personality behind the voices which can make things sound a little weird, but it probably fades once you get properly immersed in the game.

Finally finished Setsuna's route in WA2 closing chapter and it was surprisingly uneventful for the most part. I did like how Haruki finally became decisive but it seems like once we hit Coda, he's once again going to become an indecisive tard. I'm assuming the real drama of Setsuna's route will only start in Coda because her route in closing chapter was a bit of a letdown in terms of actual drama.

Anyway, is it recommended to finish Coda first before doing the side heroine routes or does it not matter?

Althought not at the level of Ai's route, Rena's route had Azusa's challenge and more developed plot overall. And Maki's route was more goofy but had the big fight at the end (and Yoiko's 3P). The daily life, casual, scenes were fine but at some points they would drag it too much. Still very well enjoyable.
Azusa, Yoiko, the class president... needed a route. But I guess they get something at the fandiscs.
What I found the most interesting was the Shonan real location setting and all the food talk. There were so many scenes about food talk, that I enjoyed but some other people might not like so much.
Of course, the characterization of 'delinquent girls' was a joke, but wasn't this the whole point?

So presumably you're getting fucked by this and need the crack. Since it's mentioned to be AlphaRom you can try various 汎用 cracks, if you won't be able to find the specific one.
