Sometimes its just a random chance drop, sometimes its based on how many stars you can get.
The thing that you probably wont be able to get is any of the +skill level, +starting level, -deploy cost buffs from getting a lot of stars.

Nutaku finds a way to botch anything they touch and have killed several top-ranking DMM games.

They killed this one with early censorship problems that took years to "resolve" (some minor issues were still present, but most content was very slowly added back in). People didn't feel comfortable spending money on it and the JP devs were operating at a loss, so it was closed.

No, jokes aside, they got far more than they deserved.
I knowa lot of people that spent 1k$ at every event because "I want to support them!".
Some of them left during the first year because of complete lack of content and devs shitting on the community all the time.
I got flammed a fuckton of time by many of them when i "dared" to say that the devs didn't deserved anything and the game would close in the worst way possible and here we are, at least the other games put some line like "we are sorry - it was fun" etc etc.
They didn't, they din't said a word also, i don't know if this is just a meme or not but looks like some players got the white page with the "Aigis has been shut down" some hours before the last "update".
Someone is already speculating that the devs wanted to close the game right away without any notice about it.
At this point i don't know what to believe not i care, TeaDevs shitted on the communtiy all the time and even if it sound bad i really wished that Nutaku taked over, worse that this they couldn't do for sure.

If the Nutaku Senpro team had their way, the gacha rates would be changed to 0.3% for Blacks and 1% for Plats. Oh, but there would be a special gacha that is only available for Bought SCs that would have the normal rates. They would then proceed to remove commission sortie, and make every map only reward 1/10 of what it should, but decrease the charsima/stamina costs by 90%, because the Western community wants a game where they need to spend 8+ hours a day farming.

Kanpani, XO and SenPro has been hans down the greatest failures on Nutaku so far.
Kanpani failure was all about some monkey rolligg an entire year of contents at day1 and making a "rush all the contents in one month!" on facebook, smart move indeed.
SenPro was clear from the start how it would be, a p2w extra in the pre-gacha? Damn, now that's something.
X-OverD died not only because the support was shit but because the community was seriously the worst Nutaku got in a game so far, yes even worse than Aigis.
Lord of Valkyrie sadly died because Nutaku community never really cared about it, not really a surprise to be honest, the game is nothign special and even on DMM the game is out from the top 10 for like an eternity, somehow jap players love the characters and that's why is still alive there.
And then there's that list of games that got closed and almost no one remembers them:
Shooting Girls (terrible game overall)
Quiz of Valkyrie (i don't even know why they get this crap if LoV failed before)

Fairy dailies on Wednesday and Sunday (you can also enter special fairy maps with keys, but these were slated to be revamped so I'm keeping them for now) for experience, gold rush (available every day) and gold boost (Saturday only, more efficient) maps for gold.

Events also give a bunch of fairies, and there are regular log-in campaigns that hand them out in sets. Once you get to a decent level, it's also a good idea to use a few flower stones during a 2x gold campaign to farm gold, it's easy to run out between leveling, evolutions, blooming and ampule feeding.

Not to my knowledge, bullet hell as a genre doesn't really mesh with browser games since grinding maps becomes tedious in very short order. There are some side-scrolling shooters like Hyper Galaxy Fleet on Nijiyome (kind of) and Azur Lane on iOS/Android, but you'll want to automate these as much as you can.

And damn, Hyper Galaxy Fleet was a national treasure. It was full-on yuri, which is almost unheard of in browser games, all its girls were designed by Yaegashi Nan of Senran Kagura fame, and its flagship character was a glasses-wearing honor student who converted space mutants into little girls and molested them. Even the aliens had some really fun designs, along the lines of Ultraman and other toku shows. A shame that it closed towards the end of this year.
