I've always wondered, are there females who play/read VNs regularly? Are they into VNs for the plot, romance or porn? During the H-scenes, do they skip them, laugh or shlick? These are important questions because I'm thinking of introducing VNs to a girl.

I know at least two girls who have played at least Tsukihime and Chaos;Head. One just didn't mind the ero scenes, the other is seriously repulsed by them (installed the non-ero patch). What's funny is that the latter played hardcore yaoi games no problem. Dunno if they ever played Otome games.
They're in for the plot, if you're thinking about introducing a fapgame to her, prepare to the "creepy" stare.

Yeah well of course I'm going to introduce plot heavy VNs. The most obvious starter is Planetarian, but if she likes it and wants more, I'm not sure where to go from here. Ever17?

I kinda wanted to introduce my sister to Tsukihime since it has vampires (and half-incest), but when I think of it, such VNs are probably only enjoyable to males.

It's not a troll, it's just a sarcastic joke. Like a comedian making fun of someone through imitation. Though trolling can involve imitation, there's more to imitation than trolling.

Women read smutty romance novels and fanfiction/erotica. Eroge are pretty similar, so I don't see the problem here.

Except most romance novels don't have so much rape bus.

As a female who plays even the most goopy of eroge, I would probably say start with something without sex. I personally loved Yo-jin-bo, and actually am going to have my mom play it. It's not plot heavy like Ever 17, and has the qualities of a romance novels like most females would like.

Pretty much anything from Hirameki won't have actual sex scenes, so you can move onto those from there. If you actually know this girl, just ask her if she minds sex scenes if you really want her to try a game that has them.

Btw just got my first ending on Princess Waltz, highly recommended, but a little too incest facial to start with. Oh and for the record, I enjoy the H scenes most of the time, but I rarely shlick to them.

I learnt from the internet and random women magazines that one of the most popular sexual fantasies for women is being raped.
