I liked the background for the Nue wallpaper (thanks for doing the retouch a few weeks back, by the way!), so I'm personally more interested in these kinds of "pattern/symbols" wallpapers, for lack of a better description. If you prefer doing characters, though, I think Shinmyoumaru is a good choice for someone you haven't made one for yet. Keep it up

What do people think about these sort of wallpapers? They're really easy for me to make, because the original images use solid blocks of color and simple line art. I think they have their own sort of simplistic charm, compared to the more complex pieces.

I like quite a few of them because in my eyes the ideal wallpaper has ample blank space in the upper left corner for folders/files while the edges also have a healthy margin to avoid focused objects/characters unnecessarily overlapping the edges of the screen or task-bar. Icons should only go in the upper left corner of the screen and clutter should be minimized with ample folders and sub-folders. Characters/text/patterns/anything more complex than a single color should never be covered by icons, the task-bar or the screen edge unless carefully planned and designed with a specific purpose in mind. Yes I get mildly autistic about wallpapers.
