They definitely had an appeal and potential with that first album, but now that Koba has them go whoaaoooaoooaoaoaooaoaoooooh~ like any other mediocre rock group it doesn't help them.

It also doesn't help that he has them tour with the most mismatched groups ever. There's no crossover between Korn & Stone Sour and Babymetal. Even RHCP, even though they were the most fun and classiest of dudes, their fanbase doesn't overlap into Babymetal.

I live in Maryland and was shocked to discover that the girls were going to be performing in D.C. with RHCP. Looks like Koba puts everybody inside a box, run to a show, sing, box everyone again, another show, repeat.

Japanese people are fine with this (well they filling concerts with air band and Hatsune Miku for years) so they don't care.

That's not what's happening, babymetal isn't trying to make up the money they expected to make out of MR. RoR, Awadama fever, Yava, NRNR had been produced and performed before MR was even out. There's no way the remaining songs + the Karate MV with very little else other than the choreo and Mysterious Black Man + The One video , cost so much that they had to have BM slave away for chili papers and korn lives. Regardless of Albums, babymetal lives overseas sell like crazy because of the cult following + fans not knowing when they'll ever get to see them live again. The current move isn't to make up lost investments, it's to milk something as irregular and fleeting as a large following that will buy ugly shirts and expensive tickets regardless of what content is put out. Amuse producing a third album and touring that across the world would be a waste since they're already selling out venues with the same material.
