Well, I wasn't expecting to see this thread again, so this is a pleasant surprise to wake up to.

Doublechecked and the script version linked in OP is the final version, so that's good.

As for voicing, /d/ is probably the best place to looks. There's a /d/ voice thread, although there is a "slight" difference in length between the script and the sorts of stuff that gets requested there, but it can't hurt to try.

There's also usually a hypnothread up which could post to either find someone who might be up for trying it or getting directions to other places that we could find a VA.

Well, let's go through some of the possibilities for how you could get brainwashed in gensokyo.

Let's start with the SDM, as there's quite a few ways you could get your mind taken there.
Vampires are known for their hypnotic capabilities, and so remi and flan could both take your mind by either bite, or simply by their eyes, as both are well documented ways of vampiric hypnosis, and could be used to set up any sort of scenario, as the whims of the mistresses can be fickle and easily changing.

Sakuya- how can we forget the absolute classic that is the pocket watch? You're in the mansion, everything freezes, and you find yourself tied to a chair in a dark room, with Sakuya starting to swing the watch back and forth, back and forth. Would work quite well with any scenario where discipline is involved. Alternate concept for writery (not script)- marisa is the subject, with Sakuya taking desperate steps to stop book thievery. By which she's brainwashing marisa. For bonus points, have it be a subtle surrender from our black-white; she starts missing bits of time where she cant remember what's happened, with them getting more and more common as time passes. She starts having dreams about sakuya, about surrendering to sakuya (conditioning breaking through). And when Marisa goes to confront sakuya, she finds that it's already too late to resist, and this last act of defiance seals her fate, delivering her to her tormentors clutches one last time.

Moving on, patchy surely has some kind of domination magic, so if a quock and dirty hammerblow to the mind is your thing, theere you go. The little devil might have some influencing abilities as well depending on which devil you take her to be.

Moving on to other touhous

Yukari excels at blur styled hypnosis, shifting the border of one to two and all that.
Shikigami stuff from ran or yukari would be like reworking or reformatting a computer; systematically wipe the old to leave a blank slate which you can then fill with the new, so you'd be feeling your mind be deleted piece by piece before the new you gets installed.

The satoris re all about hypnosis, likely favouring the eye as a focus.

There's so many more, less direct links from 2hus to hypnosis though.

Entranced by mystias song, or the dance of the fireflies in the night. A plant from Yuuka or a poison with some nasty hallucogenic effects, leaving your mind too confused to resist. The hermits or the temples employing some new meditation techniques that do wonders to eliminate desires, along with your thoughts. Alice taking you in as a test subject for a new type of doll creation, pulling on your mind with strings just like she pulls on your new body.

And so on and so forth.
Also I have no idea what it is with working long shifts making me inclined to ramble at length about 2hu hypno.

But your best bet is probably letty- there's been little bit of hints that she's more punch to her than she showed in pcb, and as the winter touhou she's most likely to want to make more ice fairies.

Well, with script writing like this isn't being able to get inside your head a good thing? And after all, puppet strings are a fairly iconic way of representing someone being controlled, so it's natural to associate being controlled with the actual puppeteer. And so that leads into the whole series where it starts with you at her house, a drug in the tea, waking up to find yourself restrained in the lab, Alice attaching string after string all over your body, before wrapping more threads around your mind. Finding yourself pulled along at first, ever so awkward in your motions, both from fighting Alices control and from simply being unused to being pulled like this. Finding that as time passes, you start fighting the control less and less and you end up being just as graceful as the other dolls, and you might even find that you start changing to be just like them, porcelin skin and delicate joints and all, and that as that happens you find your mind fill with pure love for alice, that you're not being controlled anymore, you're just following the guidance she gives you by the strings simply because you love her and want to make her happy. You might get the feeling from time to time that there was something before all this, but it's not important. Alice said it wasn't important and that's all that matters.

And so on and so forth. It's a fairly good scenario base all things considered.

Not bad for a first draft style- main pointers I'd give for future are clearing up the style for clarity, getting the flow a bit better. Maybe go into a bit more detail about the process as well, although if you're not doing a full on induction script you won't need to do as much detail as I did for the reimu script. But getting the full details of what style you're doing- full induction script, short scenario script, or full fic writery are the main options.

Lets see, both of those aren't as associated with hypnosis or the main hypnotists, but let's see... I've always felt that contagious magic is something that *fits* touhou as a thing, where even just spending lots of time around magical stuff will slowly affect you, and theres some bits in FS that hint it might be a thing, so it's not like its vastly non canon.

So working with that, for Momiji it could be that you wind up on the mountain one way or another, she finds you, you manage to get yourself not on the food list, stick with her and the pack long enough until you find yourself slowly becoming one of the pack just from magical contagion.

For Utsohu, there's two options, depending on if you just want the bird experience or if you feel like a career in reactor management.

If you just feel like being regular bird utsohu, could have it be satori getting to work on you.

But if you're wanting the full suncrow experience, I'd say have utsohu herself + kanako be the main characters involved in the process. Reactor expansion is taking place, so we need more people doing regulator duty. "So we're going to make you just like me" - Kanakos handling the more technical side of things, clinical / surgical style, going through the process in detail, connecting you up to the god, installing your own control rods etc etc. While utsohus a lot more just as the power source and helper, givving you all the power that's what changes you, and is all happy about it. Being her is great, she loves being her, so making you like her is doing you a favour and you'll love being like her as well.

Mmm, that lets you get away with a bit more in the way of sensations and narration than you could with the script style- as I had to keep *feelings* muted and had to frame any narration in terms of yukaris speaking and "you might finds" because of it being a full auditory script for the reimu one, but you don't have to deal with that in story style, which should fit the transformation bit a bit more because you could go into a lot more detail about the process and everything that entails because you don't need to worry about trance breaking, which would hopefully make it a lot more vivid a read / listen if you make it VAable.

Well, the hardest part with Youmu is the ghostliness, so you'd probably need to have a near death experience, and then a mix of yuyuko doing it and general "the garden needs a gardener" as the mthod of shifting you to being youmu. As wit the youkai tree there, that's a load of power there to work with.

Arright, as the writer of the really long reimu script, it's a general hypno style script- the aim is to try and get the listener into a nice hypnotised trance. The entire script is done as Yukari talking, so you don't need to worry about switching between standard narration and yukari talking, it's all just yukari talking.

So with it all being done yukari talking in trance script style, the main voice pointers would be- yukari character voice- female, calm, mature sounding, little bit of smug in there, and just keeping a soothing tone throughout, like you're talking to someone to help them calm down, to help them go to sleep.

Beyond that, there's the script proper, and the bits in [brackets] are either tone guides for each section if theres any special emphasis to go in that part of the reading, or as markers for little laughs and such.

But the vast majority of the script would be the "standard yukari voice" noted above.

Beyond that, I'd maybe advise recording it section by section and editing it together when you're done- it stops you wearing your voice out doing it all at once and it means that if theres a loud noice nearby or something that would ruin the recording you don't lose much progress.

I've tried to give you enough help in the bracket notes to help any VA, but if you've got any more question,s feel free to ask and I'll get back to you.

I'd say to not be too worried about how well it's going to turn out- it's my first time writing a script so I don't know how effective it'll end up being, and how effective script is always something that changes from person to person. So just have fun reading it, try to get into the role, and if you're getting confused by any part let us know so we can help clear it up.

And if you're not a native speaker, that might be another reason to do it section by section and then try putting them together afterwards, as it'll help make the script easier to handle. It means if you're having any trouble with any section in general it won't stop the whole thing and you can do some work on the other bits.

And really, I think we won't say no to anyone trying out VA work, so we're looking forwards to this as well.

Hmm- maybe just try recording the first couple of lines worth of the script as a starter, and then I can give you any feedback I have from that to help you out there on general voice stuff to begin with.

i think marisa would be an interesting tf. but once again a hard one. Sanae would be doable. easily set up a scenario there. the Reisen one or Mystia would be somewhat easy to think of a scenario. For the people who have trouble getting hypnotized, I recommend getting into the Automatic imagination model. It's a very quick way to change your perception of hypnotism.

It works like this:
You have felt extreme emotions while watching a movie, right? Fear, tension, love, etc. But at the very same time, you know that the whole thing is fake. The actors are not really in danger. They are safe in an studio following director orders and getting paid to act. But at the same time you still feel excitement or worry while watching the movie.

This is proof that you are capable of holding several contradicting ideas at the same time.

In the Automatic imagination model, you need to hold 3 contradicting ideas at once:
>1.- Imagine very vividly and deliberately what the hypnotist is telling you. The physical sensations, the sizes, the movements, the colors, everything. The most descriptive the hypnosis is the more useful.
>2.-Imagine that you're not imagining it. Imagine that it is happening all by automatically itself and you have no input over it.
>3.-Imagine how would you react if it was really happening TO YOU for real. Would you freak out? Laugh in disbelief? Left speechless?

If you can hold all these 3 ideas in your mind at the same, you're very likely to see results happening very quickly.

Number 2 is the key part. Imagination is not only additive (like putting images in your field of vision).
It can also hide them. Like an eraser, imagination can hide ideas and thoughts. This is called negative hallucination.
So, if you can use imagination to hide the fact that everything is imaginary, you will feel like things are happening for real.

Like in a dream, no matter what absurd things happen (like flying elephants), they still feel real because because you're not considering that this is imaginary. Only until you think that it must be a dream, you wake up.

So if you use imagination to hide the fact that the hypnosis is imaginary, you'll feel like it is really happening.
