What exactly are you after? Yeah, /jp/ is full of /e/ garbage and generals don't belong elsewhere, but you can still start real threads.

More or less this. /jp/, believe it or not, is probably the most active and consistent place to discuss Touhou with english-speaking fans (with anonymous posting), even though 2hu has reclined and the boom has abated from where it was at its peak. It feels like every other spinoff imageboard is dead or talks mostly about unrelated things.

You won't find a western community that isn't up its own ass with memes in some fashion but despite that and despite all the shitposting and /e/ threads, you can still get decent gameplay and manga discussion threads here.

Well, there is this secret community of elitist touhou enthusiasts that run an invite only textboard and radio but I doubt you meet the requirements to get in. The admins personally spectate you lunatic one credit clearing two mainline touhou games of your choice back-to-back and then you submit your replays to them so the community can vote on having you join or not. No memes or shitposting are allowed for any reason. There are no generals and intellectual discussion is encouraged. You can only share strategies if you can prove mathematically that yours is more efficient that the current ones in practice. They hold an annual candlelight service you must attend to be accepted as a new user hosted in Phoenix, Arizona. The servers are whitelist by IP only and they use a modern retinal authentication system that ensures people do not share accounts or commit fraud when registering. You will enter a blood pact with the community when you are accepted and betrayal, which includes leaking internal documents, will result in immediate excommunication.

The 2ch Touhou boards are uncannily similar to /jp/, just slower and in Japanese. I can't read a word of Japanese, but just looking at the pictures that get posted, their threads and memes are almost identical to ours.

/jp/ is probably the best place to discuss Touhou anonymously on the entire Internet.
