It's just arcade mode. Basically short scenes at the start of the game and then a cutscene at the end when you win. There's a few CGs tied to most of the endings, it's nothing huge at all. There's definitely less text than in any specific Umineko episode, probably less text than even in the tea parties.

Story itself is 100% fanserivce like anon said, but some of it is really fun, especially lots of Battler's routes and Black Battler himself.

It's quite short and I guess I ended up disappointed because when you open the VN the extra menu is already there so I decided to open it up and check out the scene tab to get an idea how many scenes there were. There's three pages with two rows of 4 on each one. So I got the idea "Damn there's a good chunk of H in this." but it turns out that the last two pages are just two scenes on each page where you can jump to a certain part in the scene. So there's only about 7 scenes total several of which are pretty short. Story is just your standard "MC can't satisfy his wife so she cheats and he realizes he likes it". Nothing special.

Frontwing did confirm in their IGG comments that a patch to remove the mosaics in volume 1 of Corona Blossom is in the works, though low priority and probably won't be out until around the release of volume 3.

Not that surprising, they probably want to have a mosaic free version of the trilogy to throw on the 18+ platforms down the road (as well as just being able to sell a complete release without having to say why a third of it has mosaics).

Not enough to make up the lost revenue. Corona Blossom volume 2, despite volume 1 having it as just gallery mode has 606 backers thus far, all but 24 are paying the extra money for the 18+ version (including 334 backers who got the tier that is only game plus 18+ patch). They can't exactly get rid of the low price all ages tier because they want a $10 Steam game, and the PR/increase sales from doing a free patch wouldn't cover the lost revenue from not having it, even if you get some extra backers.

The same is very much true for other recent crowdfunding projects, when you have a paid patch people overwhelming are willing to support that, and it is hard to believe making it free would significantly increase the backers enough to pay for it.


Also, Corona Blossom volume 2 is not cheaper (at least for the digital only tiers), they are using the same pricing on the Indiegogo and likely plan the same prices on the Steam release. The no mosaic release is probably a combination of trying to get some extra sales here, and setting up for 18+ distribution at Nutaku/MG/etc down the road.

People are not funding those kickstarter options because they want to pay for patches, it is because it is the closest price to full price Steam version without censorship.

I.e. if the Kickstarter offers you 10 dollar game 0 dollar patch or 5 dollar game 5 dollar patch, people will view the deal equal. The common pricing is about 75% game 75% patch and people go "Fine, 150% is a ripoff, but I want to show my support for near free patch full price game".

As for Corona Blossom, I guess it was the art book that was cheaper then. I went for same option and it was less than previous campaign.

That's what made him an enjoyable character, though.

Due to the fact that he was an extremely emotional person, he had the most fragile masculinity of the entire cast, which he then overcompensated for by making a big show out of his pride. Not to mention his refusals to communicate what he emotionally felt (which he perceived as weakness).

But this is in large part due to the circumstances which were laid upon him; being a mob boss in Chapter 3 and being the Lord in the Final Chapter. It's probably the biggest reason why he could only let himself 'open up' to Maria in the 3rd chapter, because she was a friend before he donned the 'Boss' facade and therefore she was the only one with insights into who Jacopo really was. In other words, she was really the only one he felt secure with. When he had fallen in love with the WHG, he was already bearing that facade and never really opened up the 'real Jacopo' to her until it was far too late. It's why he's an interesting character; good deep down, but largely corrupted due to his own circumstances and the way he handled them.

Much of the interest here for SukiSuki comes from the circumstances of the license (the CEO being awesome and going with MG) and being a decently well received game with good art, rather than the mechanics of the title itself.

I have to wonder how it will actually do for Mangagamer though. Princess Evangile's success was largely driven by Steam and a streamer as a title released with very good timing so it might not carry over to another moege.

I doubt the little known story about how it was licensed and general anti-Sekai attitude is going to do much for sales for SukiSuki.

MangaGamer should have reasonable expectations for SukiSuki (knowing it is a non-Steam release), so I wouldn't be surprised if they reached their goals. Although getting a hit would depend on reaching some of the Princess Evangile audience without the benefit of Steam, and having the art and H-scenes bring some of MangaGamer's nukige crowd on board.
