Why are most idol otaku so disgusting when the culture revolves around hard working girls that give it their all?

You've got a point.

They don't want to nor are able to work hard themselves. They then suppress those feelings of inadequacy by looking at teenage girls working hard.

Pretty much like high school anime letting people experience the fun times they never had during their high school lives.

Because the entire industry is a disgusting system which swallows up young, idealistic girls, works them half to death while taking most of the money for a few years, then throwing them out like a used cum rag. That the girls "give it their all" for such a sadistic enterprise just shows how twisted the executives and their satanically-slick "talent scouts" really are.

they probably do 2 hour's worth of work a day. how are they being worked to death exactly? most of the time they just appear on a show? that's work?

It has been stated by the constitutional court of Japan that a company couldn't forbit its idols to have a boyfriend, since having a relationship is a an essential part of a full life experience, and the constitution of Japan acknowledges the right to pursue happiness.

The fact is that many idols make ends meet by having some sugar daddies. I'm not talking about superstars like the perfume girls, but frankly, do you really think all the 48 AKBs make a living out of singing ? It's weird for us, but that's how entertainment works in japan since the kabuki actors of the Edo period.

Only one court verdict ruled that. Another court verdict about another different group in which an idol's misdemeanor with fans caused the group to be disbanded, ruled the case in favor of the agency instead and the idol was asked to pay back her lesson fees.
In either cases the point of contention was the payment of free lessons and other allowances, not "muh bf muh pursuit of happiness".
How funny, now that I look at it, that western media is so entrenched in their liberal bullshit they can't even report about two plain court cases right.
The only thing I get is that it's a case by case situation.

Well, it's their job as an idol to look, dance and sing at least decently.

And very few people(cucks) are willing to follow an active pre-christmas cake idol that has an boyfriend, so they're forced to hide them if they do.

That's the times, idols are popular again. I don't think you can really compare a trend follower who thinks the most popular girl is cute, to a idol obsessive that has focus on gaining knowledge about the new and relatively unknown girls (he seeks the 'watching girl grow' experience).

Look at the concert performances of heavy dance groups like Baby Metal. They have to do intense physical training to be able to still sing halfway decently while doing aerobic choreographed dances.

I recall another group that in an interview about performing overseas said she wanted to show western audiences that idols could both dance and sing. Over here performers tend to either focus on their voice and don't move much in live shows or they have big dance numbers and mostly lipsynch during lives.

Indie idols are usually made to work 14-16 hours a day, performing up to 4 shows in different livehouses. Add dance practice, recording songs, rehearsing for oneman lives and their schedule will begin to pack up.

Established groups don't get it better: AKB48's documentaries always show you the members collapsing/passing out backstage right in front of the cameras due to the sheer amount of schedules they have to endure. At least the japanese industry has a law preventing minors from working after 9pm; it's commonplace for kpop idols to sleep 2-3 hours per day, even less when they are actively promoting.

There's no point in working hard to move the dial on the chance meter from 0% to 0.0001%. People who dedicate a good portion of their lives to other people aren't going to give a shit about thesmelves.

People who spend a great deal of their time living vicariously through others aren't going to give a shit about themselves. This probably applies to some degree to other otaku as well.

Spending all your waking hours, and quite a few you should be sleeping, working for your company is the Japanese way of life. That's one of the main reasons the Japanese birth rate is falling. After it became common for women also to join the workforce, there's simply no time to raise a child.

The Japanese have a word for working yourself to death. Karoshi. Google it. Even people in their 20s die from this.

Come on, if you followed idols you would know that is highly unusual. She did it as a personal choice, probably partly because she saw it as potential attention source. Also she most likely liked her job and wanted to do a traditional apology for her "misdeed" (by this act she got back her innocence, on some symbolic level).

Other idols that get caught just go "deal with it", and the company complies and the thing gets sweeped under the carpet. Others leave as if their idol career was just fun distraction, or an attempt to use idol as stepping stone into entertainment business, or say , modeling (possibly successful even if their idol career ended prematurely). It's very case by case and it's more about maintaining an image, in the proverbial stage they're playing in than problem with women's treatment. Not to say there isn't plenty of those problems, but I don't think this is a clear example, as there is many aspects of make-believe in the idol business.
