Hay, it's that guy from the previous thread. I’ve gone away and had a think. This is surmised off guess work, repeated ‘BUT WAIT’ moments, and some wishful thinking. I’m going to go back and re-read 1-4 to try and test out these theories.

Bare in mind that I think that magic is bullshit. Magic is cruelty, it is suffering, it is endless greed, it is childlike denial of reality, it is merciless, and it is evil. Anything that crops up in a magical scenes, I’m going to regard as unreliable narrator. Pretty much most things that Beatrice says, I’m also going to regard as unreliable unless they are said in red. Although for some of these theories to work, a physical person called Beatrice has to be on the island, so it’s not definitive that all Beatrice appearances are fake outs. Also remember that my theories at the minute are pretty rough, I haven’t worked through the case. That and Battler has so far been less than Ace Attorney about getting Beatrice tied up, as such I’m going to trust what he observes, but really he’s wrong so fucking often I can only assume he’s there to lead the players off the scent.
With that said here we go;

>The imposter theory
One of these things is not like the other; someone on the island has been murdered and replaced by Beatrice. This could have happened either before October 4 or during it, with the murder happening before the first twilight. This would also mean that Beatrice dies in character as an imposter, so for this theory we have to pick Beatrice out each time. It might be that different characters are impersonated each time before the first twilight. To prove this, I’m going to have to do a shitton of research, so right now it’s pretty thin on the ground.

>The split-personality theory
This one’s partially because this is one of my favourite tropes, partially because of something the witch EVA did. When she was using the Red truths like a machine gun, she mentioned Eva as something separate from herself in the Red. But she didn’t mention herself, or her child self which eventually became a witch. So I guess the question is; if someone had a split personality like Eva, but they were hiding it, would the Red show it? Not unless Battler directly asked (being the fucking idiot he is, he doesn’t). I actually believe at some point Battler does ask something like “Someone else with a split personality did it, like Eva!”, but Beatrice doesn’t perfectly answer him with something like “No-one else on Rokkejima has a split personality”, she says just dismisses that by physically eliminating it.
If we had to put a candidate up for a split personality, I’m putting up Rosa. I’m essentially saying that she’s hiding Beatrice inside her. My reasoning for this begins in 1967- she’s the only one of the Ushiroyma to see Beatrice other then Kinzo and to meet…whoever the fuck that was. It may have just been her as a little girl imaging things, or maybe she did actually kill the girl Kinzo was imprisoning. Then, wracked with guilt, created ‘Breatrice’. This actually has some more going for it, Rosa sometimes flies into a rage which seems pretty out of character/out of nowhere, and Maria calls her the ‘Bad witch’. Maybe the ‘Good’ Witch Beatrice is in there too, and comes out whenever they are at the Ushiroyma conference, when Rosa remembers Beatrice? That and Rosa must subconsciously know a shitton about the occult just from dealing with Maria all day. So she would be able to do drawings in Hebrew and the like. Also significant is that it’s Maria who recognises all of it, because she’s seen it before. It could be that Rosa just copies what she remembers from dealing with Maria’s magic.
But the Split-personality theory could work with any of the others characters (minus Battler), if my theory with the Red thing is true. Hell, maybe the Ushiroyma family’s blood has some defect that causes it? Or perhaps Kinzo is the king of being a shitty father, and he accidently damaged his children so badly more than one have a Split-personality?

>The Maria theory
Now this one is a little far thatched. Basically, Maria + X is Beatrice. Whoever carried out the murders, they need to have a superficial knowledge of the occult. Magic isn’t real, but you don’t just learn how to write down Hebrew on the fly. Someone masquerading as Beatrice has duped Maria into aiding them kill everyone. But this requires Maria’s help, so whoever has been pretending to be Beatrice has been buttering Maria up at the family conference for years. I’ve only recently thought of this one, so it’s going to need some more development.

And there we have it, my initial theories. I’ll repeat that I haven’t put them to the grindstone yet of proving each of the cases and defeating each of the Closed rooms using this theory. But I have an idea of where I am going, so hopefully with a re-read I can comeback with a definitive theory with proof up the ass.
I will acknowledge that I’m basically not suspecting any of the grand-children here (expect tangentially Maria), but I basically can’t envision a scenario in which they are the killers. The rest seem fair game though (apart from Kumasawa, she’s too old to do any of this shit).

I still don’t know what happens that kills Battler at 24:00 at October 5th, Or what Battler did in 1980 that Beatrice is so ass hurt over. I’m going to need to figure these out to come to any satisfactory answer about who Beatrice is.

Whoops, missed one.

>The furniture conspiracy
This theory goes something like this- Beatrice isn’t a person, but a group of people. You can probably guess who I am implicating here, Genji, Shanon and Kanon. They all believe in Beatrice being alive, they all buy Kinzo’s occultism, they are all familiar with it, and they all believe they are furniture who need to pass onto the ‘Golden land’. Practically, they all know the mansion inside and out, all have master keys, all are trusted (especially Genji) and all can move about in the mansion with little to no suspicion. As a group, they explain quite a few of the problems. Although practically there may be a few grey areas. Although this ‘group’ logic could apply to other characters, like a faction of the Ushiromiya family (say Rudolf, Eva and Rosa ganging up on Krauss as one possible example), Genji Shanon and Kanon are the most associated with the occult nature of the murders whilst being able to carry them out. This theory could hold that Nanjo and Godha are also involved, but since they are less into the occult I suspect them less.

Is my understanding of magic correct? What I took from it is that magic is basically a shared delusion between two or more people. As long as at least two people believe in it, that magic can be seen as "real". Maria and Beatrice needed to form Marriage Sorciere in order to help reinforce each others' magic.

I think the Gold Truth is also a representation of this kind of magic. Ange is able to use the Gold Truth to contradict Bern's Red Truth and declare that everyone is still alive, and it works because that gold truth is a sacred unbreakable delusion shared by her and Battler. That's why she is able to visit everyone in the Golden Land at the end of ep8.

The Beatrice that Battler knew, based on the gameboard and its background, was the result of trauma, "1000 years" of it. Battler can't just create a fresh Beato without all of that, and so the innocent Chick Beatrice, who has yet to go through the pain required to turn into Beatrice, was created. Big Sis Beatrice is the witch legend and lore without the trauma or Chick Beatrice's humanity.

Editorfag here. Just thought I'd post an update about the nude Bernkastel edit I promised last thread. It's been taking a lot longer than I'd initially hoped, and I'm still not fully satisfied with the current results, but it's finally getting somewhere. On the plus side, I've decided to do the Lambda edit at the same time, and it's proving to be much less of a hassle. I'm not sure how big to make her breasts though, so I've shown 2 options (I could always just do both)

I'm hoping to finish both pieces by tomorrow night. Due to the uncertainty about her chest, Bern will have 3 pieces; One will be flat, one will have smallish breasts (shown here), and one will be busty.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated. If something looks weird (other than parts that are clearly unfinished) let me know and I'll see if I can fix it.

I'm still convinced that the green stuff the servants pour him isn't absinthe but actually lube. They usually leave Kinzo alone to "enjoy" his drink afterwards. The shouts of "BEATORIIICHEEEE!!!" they can hear from outside the study are interpreted by the servants as Kinzo getting drunk and lamenting his past, but it's actually him lubing up and spraying his own brand of paint on the portrait.
It would explain the awful stench in the study that several characters comment on.

Maybe I should give a try myself to do a Bern sprite that feels more like the original and less loli-like.

I just think it's hilarious and nothing more. It's not like I'm going to fap to them. All these discussions about mystery, love, murder, truths, etc, all while everyone is naked.
Not to mention Ryukishi purposefully makes his sprites lewd, as seen from the Chester girls and Dlanor. And there is so much lewd in the dialogue that it's funny.

The trick isn't simply that we're making the entire cast naked, but that we're following Ryukishi's rule of lewd by stripping them naked except for a few piece of clothing.

>> No.15566205

I mean, who wouldn't force beautiful women to be mostly naked? Wouldn't most movies or anime be significantly better if most of the female cast were naked?
And there is also an element of voyeurism as well, as the cast does not seem bothered or notice that they're naked, making it even more enticing.

I think he's evolved past humanity and developed a fetish for everything.
It's not entirely surprising since he worked in fashion and they teach you all the marketing fetishation such as only showing parts of the body to make it more lewd, or focusing on a certain place with the design can make it more attractive. Things like that.
Like Dlanor and her stomach. I honestly just can't stop staring at it.

He has a maid fetish, he has a mind break fetish, he has a tomboy fetish, he has a cute girl fetish, he has a femdom fetish (most of the women in Umineko are femdom in one way or another, like Ange or Bernkastel and he does it well compared to basically the entire medium itself), he has a bully fetish, he clearly has a big breast fetish, he has a loli fetis.

The amount of actual fetishes in Higurashi and Umineko is ridiculous.
There's even a point in ep 8 of Higurashi where Rena is tied down BDSM style that's played for laughs.

I'm convinced that you can make every single part of the human body into a fetish. And being on 4chan for so long, I'm pretty certain of that fact.

The Question Arc ends at the same point as the anime. The first episode does drag on a lot if you already know what's going to happen but it fleshes out the characters to something more that you will care about rather than as someone that only exists to die for the mystery. The first episode is also more like a pure mystery since there is no fantasy element intruding like the other ones.
The following episodes pick up the pace more and go more into the conflict between Beatrice and Battler and how Battler struggles and comes up with his ideas and theories. If you really want to, the game has the option of unlocking all four episodes, allowing you to skip the 1st one.

It doesn't have paths and gameplay because it's more like a normal novel, but it does have a great soundtrack. But if you can't get into reading the series from the original source despite that, then maybe it's not for you. There's still the manga version that's a good adaptation if you're still interested.

>Higurashi has a better cohesive and straightforward story than Umineko, which, depending on who you asks, makes it better than Umineko in terms of being enjoyable.

Straightforward? For sure (but that's also what I love the most about the organization of Umineko's storytelling. Cohesive? Umineko has way better handled foreshadowing and plot points than Higurashi (and zero plot holes, compared to some unexplained/poorly explained important plot devices in Higurashi, like the whole Hinamisawa syndrome thing).

The wikia even created a session with this kind of info that wasn't really explained properly or presented with the attention it needed (http://whentheycry.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Weird_Plot_Shit).).

Not saying that wikias are anywhere as near reliable as they claim to be, but they are quite accurate with the info and highly informed with details about the plot devices (I double checked every single of them just to confirm that),

Some important things are just left in there without much exploration really, unlike Umineko (not counting the whole Bernkastel and Lambda related stuff, which is yet to be introduced to the story and it isn't really related to the main plot.

Being enjoyable is rather subjective, it depends of what kind of story you prefer to read and the presentation of it.

Umineko has every single element in hand from the get-go and pretty much trick the readers with espectacularly smart unreliable narration, and this alone already make Umineko better as a story (especially as a mystery).

This is why I said ''depending on who you ask''. I don't believe it myself but I can see where the sentiment is coming from.

I view Umineko as better than Higurashi simply because of what morals and message I got out of the story. However, I would lie if I didn't say that Higurashi touched me more than Umineko.
Even if Umineko stabbed me harder than anything I've ever experienced with the ending of ep 3 and the tea party of ep 7.

All I'm saying is that it's understandable for that person to prefer Higurashi over Umineko on certain topic despite it not being as complex or great.

I still view Higurashi as being ridiculously well structured narratively. Umineko is very very well structured itself but Higurashi worked cohesively tricked the reader until the end.

The fact that Higurashi actually made the reader feel paranoid is why I still regard it as one of the greatest things I've ever read. Can't people agree that both are fucking great?

>> No.15569339

To me, Higurashi is a fun experience that was structured perfectly to make you actually paranoid. It's a great rollercoaster until the ending.

Umineko is an equally fun rollercoaster but has more to say about human nature, truth, love, detective fiction, empericism. Everything in Umineko is extremely well polished.

Both Higurashi and Umineko are very well polished, designed and structured. I always feel annoyed that people have to compared to find out which is better. They're both good. Can't people just leave it at that?

Oh, I need to bitch about this because I get tired of seeing it all the time.

>important plot devices in Higurashi, like the whole Hinamisawa syndrome thing).
There is no plot device. The thing about the Hinamizawa syndrome is that it subtly effects three people in the story but none of their actions were completely irrational. Every single one of their actions, from K1 to Rena to Mion, are given their first person monologue for every single one of their actions.
From K1 deciding to kill his friends to Rena deciding to blow up her school, you read their monologue and they're entirely rational the entire way.
Ryukishi, at the end of the manga, says that the Hinamizawa syndrome is more a metaphor of people simply not talking to each other and letting tragedy develop. Tragedies are always born out of miscommunication and silence and Higurashi is no exception. Hell, it's the entire theme.
While it is the reasoning for why people are turning insane, it isn't the cause. Everyone has the Hinamizawa syndome, but not everyone turns insane. Anyway can decide to not talk and kill everyone, just like everyone can talk and solve their problems with their friends.

Personally, I love Higurashi a bit more sometimes than Umineko because it goes into cynicism about how friendship is shit, like everyone believe, then rises out of its ashes to become optimistic. Optimism that destroys cynicism is always great.

>>15569145

There's a few reasons why I insist on sticking to the steam sprites.

First of all, back when I had just started making edits I used the PS3 sprites as the bases. I ended up making edits of most of the female cast, but since they were my first attempts the quality is even lower than what I'm making now (hard to imagine, I know). The point is I prefer to work with something new this time rather than redo the PS3 versions.

Another big reason is I'm hoping that by continuing to introduce original content based on the material that just came out It might draw some attention to the official release and keep these threads going. For that reason, I made scans of the pachinko artbook, ripped the new sprites from the game once it came out, made images comparing all the old and new sprites, and now I'm making these things.

Basically, despite the excessive fanservice and questionable stylistic choices, I've just gotten somewhat attached to the Steam sprites after working with them so much.

Bernkastel and Lambda were only able to join the gameboard by attaching themselves to literary concept of the gameboard, as the stories themselves were all fictional. With ep 1-2 written by Beatrice, and internet forgeries by Tohya for ep 3-6. With Prime being a fixed event catbox, it became impossible for any witch to influence the gameboard without Beatrice allowing it. Hence why Bernkastel's power was worthless against Beatrice. There is zero chance of victory when you're looping point A to point B and just changing the variables on how it leads there. As such, witches can only enter the story by attaching themselves to concepts.

Bernkastel represents mystery fans on the internet trying to solve the mystery. This is represented in the PS3 CG with Bernkastel. At first, she talks to Battler, who represents the viewer until his death at the end of ep 5, and breaks the 4th wall by saying she's on 'your' side. The audience's side who wants the mystery to be solved. No need to be reminded that Bernkastel is the primary antagonist of the story and that the end message is that you don't need to find out the real truth.

The timeline of events makes this interesting though. Ep 1-2 were just stories thrown to the sea by Beatrice. Ep 3-4 were stories by written Tohya and put on the internet. Many mystery fans liked the stories but thought that Battler was incompetent so they asked to place their own fictional detective in the story. This is the birth of Erika. She is Bernkastel's piece. The way Bernkastel describes her is very interesting, saying that Erika is her in every way to act on her will. This is basically what people consider a mary sue, a person the writer self inserts that is overly smart, powerful, knows everything, loved by everyone, etc. A piece typically just represents the owner but this is more literal in a literal sense. This explains why Erika can actually act meta. It's not that she acts meta for the sake of it but because Erika was created by mystery fans who themselves likely read mystery novels and were fighting against Tohya to find the truth. So being meta about the rules and tropes was just a way to add a weapon on their side.
Anyways, so in ep 5, Erika gets tricked by the red herring that Natsuhi is acting suspicious and follows her around but not enough to catch her in the act of anything. Erika event laments at one point that she wouldn't have simply kept an eye on Natsuhi if Bernkastel didn't ordered her to do so. Showing again how ep 5 was more a game with mystery fans owning a game character like a video game, telling her where to go, etc. By the end of ep 5, it's revealed that the mystery fans were tricked, Natsuhi was innocent and they were shown to be as incompetent as Battler. When the story talks about ep 5 making the culprit do things it wouldn't normally do, this is what it means. It's not about the phone call itself but the entire story being meta about red truths, like the narration being fixated on Natsuhi for the reader rather than what the mystery fans are reading, showing the first disconnect between mystery fans and the reader.
So obviously, Bernkastel is angry, blaming her piece for being incompetent rather than itself for sending her to stupid locations and keeping an eye on Natsuhi. This is why in ep 6, Erika goes insane and just decides to kill everyone. Although there is some explanation about finding the mystery, it's complete fluff and just an excuse for Erika to kill everyone and humiliate Tohya as a writer. The mystery fans felt humiliated and wanted retribution. Not only that but considering how ep 6 was basically ''everyone was pretending to be dead'', it wasn't much of a serious mystery in the first place. So the mystery fans managed to block Tohya in a logic error, laughed at him for awhile and then he found a way out. It's at this point that the red at the end of ep 6 states that number of people on the island + X makes X = 0. If Erika or someone else on the island joins, they will be killed. Only the people already on the island are allowed to participate. Then Tohya closes the gameboard and fucks off. This is likely just Tohya closing his forum account or whatever and never being heard again.

Ep 7 is very polarizing but I'll give my own theory and view on it. The episode is fictional and possibly created by either Featherine or Bernkastel. The whole episode feels like the mystery fans coming together and trying to create backstory fanfics about the events that lead up to Prime and give their own theory about what happened.
This can be seen in the romantic story between Beatrice and Kinzo. It's mostly accepted that this story isn't the entire truth as a discontent view by Genji that Kinzo might have simply killed everyone, taken the gold and kept Beatrice as his concubine slave.

To be continued in another post.

Erika is a possibility from other kakera that could or not be Rokkenjima Prime iirc, so she kinda dies anyway even if she is added to the calculation.

Is more like, that red was just to say that even if she was an addition to the original number of bodies in the island, they wouldn't be more than 16 (not counting with her).

So yeah, there isn't much to say besides that, anyone in the island at that point dies (except Eva, Battler and Yasu, these last two dying together by the very end of the disaster day... except that Battler's body is still alive with a new personality)

This can also be seen by the theory of how Kinzo got the gold; namely that since Beatrice sounds Italian and Italians and the Japanese were fighting together, maybe some submarine came with the gold on the island and was misbranded with the Italian eagle that just so happened to be adopted as its own family symbol. There's a lot of maybes that sound like guesswork theorizing.
Clair and Yasu's story is mixed in its intent on whether it's truthful or just a complete lie. But on the topic of how it is affected by Bernkastel, I see it more in the sense that it may or may not be the actual viewpoint of the killer but has had no effect on the mystery fans or Beatrice. It's a theory origin story given to the reader and does not become talked about by anyone except maybe Erika in the manga. Rather, Bernkastel fixates on a theory that isn't shown in ep 7 by Yasu and may be the collective gold truth theory of the mystery fans. I'm obviously talking about Kyrie being an evil psychopath who cares about nothing. Bernkastel later tell Ange that it was all fictional and only represents the worst possible truth and that Ange should accept the worse if she wants to know the truth. The manga also seems to agree with me that the ep 7 tea party might be entirely fictional as well. Bernkastel side jumps saying that she wasn't the gameboard master and that there isn't any. I would argue that ep 7 and its tea party is not a gameboard but simply theory discussion by mystery fans and no single originator. After Ange is told in red that ep 7's tea party is all truth, Will doesn't accept it and in a bold move, denies it by fighting against it, using the Knox that there aren't enough clues to solve the mystery. I'm not entirely sure if this implies that ep 7's tea party is a gameboard or that Will is denying the gameboard or the theory itself.

However, the main important thing about Bernkastel is that ep 7's tea party makes Kyrie the main killer. In ep 8, Tohya decides to open the gameboard one final time but two stories get published at the same time. Ange doesn't know which is the real one, and the mystery fans challenge Tohya to see if they're better than him. He easily solves the mystery and laughs at its truth. The mini game by Bernkastel in ep 8 is interesting because of who the culprits end up being. It's the same Kyrie+Rudolf answer as in ep 7's tea party but with Battler in the mix. As though the mystery fan can't create any new ideas.

The rest of ep 8 is basically the mystery fans being excited that the truth will be revealed, only for it to be swept from under them with Tohya stealing the diary and hiding the truth forever. There's some arguments about the red truth where Ange reads the diary and then dies. I don't view this red as truthful and more of a 'what if Ange reads the diary and it is revealed that ep 7's tea party did happen', as Ange dies and it's later shown that the lock of the diary hasn't been broken even after Ange supposedly read it. I view this part as simply the physical Ange dying, merging with the meta Ange and becoming Ange-Beatrice, accepting magic and living without caring about the truth. This is why the story is meta focused on stealing the diary and Ange being a part of that heist.

After the diary is stolen, the mystery fans get obviously agitated and angry that the truth will never be revealed. Rather than be content with letting Tohya write the gameboards, they decide to write their own in cruel ways. Tsubasa shows the conception of Black Battler who can break the rules. His introduction is interesting as he shows up on the island and kills Ronove. This is interesting as although Umineko is very lax about what it can do, there are still established rules. The pieces not being able to affect or actually kill the meta being one of those rules. Black Battler simply outright kills Ronove as though he were a piece. After killing Ronove, Black Battler looks at the sky and shouts at Tohya that if he wants it to stop, he just has to tell the truth. Essentially, the mystery fans are creating horrific perversions with the Gameboard in an attempt to goat Tohya to reveal the truth. This can be seen in real world with actual Umineko fans creating their own gameboard. This is what Ryukishi meant when he said that when you find the golden truth, no matter what it is, you're given the keys to create your own gameboard. The mystery fans accepted this Kyrie+Rudolf+Battler murder theory and created their own gameboard.

And that's how Bernkastel affects the gameboard. She's the mystery fans and embodied their role in the story. I personally also view the part where Ange decides to be a cunt to be the mystery fans telling Ange lies that it was the fault of Eva and that she shouldn't believe her or trust her.

And now we come to Lambda. Unlike Bernkastel, she's rather easy to explain. Just like in Higurashi, she represents events that lead up to the conceptualization of the gameboard. Meaning, she's the person who made everyone go on the island and made it blow up. This is why Lambda is able to be the gameboard master in ep 5 despite being written by Tohya. She created the inception of the game and can check the rules. She's a neutral party but heavily leans more on Beatrice's side.

Yep, and that basically covers the roles of Bernkastel and Lambda as literary concepts to the gameboard and story.

>>15575921
This is a common misconception. The fact that the mystery fans had to completely change the characterization of Battler rather than just putting Erika on their board and letting her roam free makes me think this is the truth. Erika being allowed to join and 15+1 = 16 does not stop her from joining the game. 16+1 = 16 implies that even if Erika joined the game.

>>15575995
Lambda simply says in ep 5 that the only thing Erika does is add +1 to the total amount of people on the island. Nothing more and nothing less. However, by the end of ep 6, Tohya gets tired of the mystery fan's bullshit and just red truths that Erika or any other person who wasn't part of the original people on the island cannot come on the island. And if they come on the island, they'll end up dead and will not count as a +1 to the total amount of people on the island.

People simply misunderstood that 15+1 = 16.

Erika is a +1 to the total amount of people on the island. The end red truth of ep 6 denies that +1 or any +1 from existing.

As previously said, this is why the mystery fans have to create Black Battler. Rather than just making an Erika 2.0, they just twist Battler's personality to fuck around on the gameboard.

Erika has no influence on the gameboard. And even if she did join, her influence would not exist. That's what that red truth is denying.

I still have no answer to give to this unfortunately.
It's so annoying.
The problem with this truth is essentially that the answer is still the same. It's a person pretending to be dead who killed Nanjo. The trick with this red truth is that it could only have been done with someone using the different name trick. And like Erika, I find this trick to be lame.
The only people who could have killed Nanjo are George, Kyrie and Shannon. However, only Shannon can the escape of that red truth with her name not being her real one, so by default, it's the only answer left.

It's really annoying because this single red truth is stopping every plausible alternative theory. I can only think of lame solutions like Kyrie dying at the same time as the shot was made, thereby dying before Nanjo died. But it also doesn't work because Battler and Eva walk around and find Nanjo dead, without a body nearby.
Or that George were only declared dead by Nanjo which made them actually dead, but that doesn't work with the red truth as it isn't a gold truth.

I'd love to think of an alternative answer but I have none.

I like to think of alternative answers, it's fun. But on that single point, I have nothing. It's the only thing stopping me from eating its entrails, as Bernkastel would say.
I would argue that alternative theories put focus on trying to solve the mystery without relying on the name wordplay trick. Is it possible to solve the first four episodes without relying on the unreliable narrator or the fact that Shannon is not her real name as a means of escaping the red truth?

To most answers, it is plausible to think of an alternate answer. But not Nanjo's death. You can only solve it using the alternate name trick.

Though, to a certain degree, ep 5 was written by Lambda in a way that Beatrice wouldn't have if she had written it, plausibly meaning Tohya wrote with the sole purpose of fucking up the mystery fans. So cheating by using a recording is plausible in terms of an answer but I don't like it. Just because I like to give alternate theories for fun, doesn't mean I enjoy all my answers when they're lame themselves. Like Ryukishi, I self reflect on how it feels and judge it.

>I decide if other people are having fun, so stop it!
Don't confuse what you consider annoying and what someone else considers annoying.
Just because someone has fun thinking of alternative scenarios even if it's impossible and you are so autistically rigid to not accept anything else doesn't make it annoying.
Kids can whistle in the wind for fun and find it annoying that they can't hear their whistling in a strong patch of wind, and you think just whistling itself is annoying.

Without love it cannot be seen and you lack love to see why people enjoy making alternative theories.
Not that I obviously don't understand the sentiment you're coming from but that time has long past.

Another problem humans have when discussing truth is that they become so territorial about forcing other people to accept their own truth.
Humanity would be so much better if it acted nonchalant about everything and mellow.

It's fine, that's why I said I understood your sentiment. You know, as much as I'm cynical about people not understand others and communication being almost impossible, humans can still understand an agreement and communicate through our emotions to the point where we can rightfully feel what another person wants.

I think people are weirdly hard on others by how something is said and misunderstanding the intent of what was said more than what was said itself along with the tone.

It's nice when you can understand the other person, and the other person understands where you're coming from. Sometimes, optimism wins.

The guy is smiling 70% of the time really, and seems to truly love what he do in life.

I trust Ryukishi when he says in an interview that his personality is that of Beatrice and K1. Giggling like a schoolboy, always teasing and perverted, but also endlessly cynical and cruel at times, only to quickly revert back to being whimsical.

That story where he purposefully made Rika evil because she was BT's favorite and wanted to see his reaction tells you everything about him. I believe that he is endlessly humble as he portrays himself in interviews, but it lacks an element of cruelty from his work.

12 episodes would surely be enough for First Night, right?

It would. 12-13 episodes for each night would do just fine to adapt everything.

I wonder however how would the narrative structure be presented, since it's really shifty (like for example, a monologue starts during the change of scene after the very same omniscient narrative is talking about what said character was thinking at that moment).

Which reminds me, it was the only problem I noticed in the english translation for it (the translator messed up at some parts because of this very structure).

Umineko completely lost great part of its content in the anime for the lack of it, I wonder how would they do with Higanbana animated (when the original manga was inferior also because of that).

Ryukishi is too good with his own text desu, it becomes complicated to adapt his works properly because of it.

I simply found the shows interesting enough to watch through all of their episodes without dropping them halfway through. From mild things like doremi or the entire PreCure franchise from Futari Wa&Max Heart up until HaCha up to actual lolicon tier shit

As long as you fuckers maintain what happens in the 2D in the 2D, everything is fine really.

People should stop judging people for what they fap. My IRL wife likes to see shota being tortured with candles by someone older than him, and she don't use our kid to do any of this stuff (nor do I, just adding).

Leave the fetishism alone, people like the 2D because it's secure to be fucked up in that world. It's not like we gonna go full "Sodom" for real or something.

Playing the 5th game for the first time, Battler's empathy for Beatrice is...weird.

Did he forget the part where Beatrice fabricated another witch existing, and in the process had Maria and Rosa resurrected and killed in dozens of horrific ways? Did he forget that? Did he forget that SHE did that? Because it's like he forgot that.
