I agree with you. I feel that /jp/ works better as pure escapism.
I have nothing great to say about my (lack of) life and I don't want others to feel pressured to console me.
I will try to cheer up other /jp/sies when they make a ronery thread, but at the same time I feel like it takes away from the atmosphere.

I have been on 4chan since 2005. Talk about wasting away ones life. That being said, I didn't forget that the original /jp/ population was essentially subhuman trash from /a/ no one liked or wanted. Good riddance I say, if you filter away the most prevalent general threads on /jp/, it is pretty nice around here these days.
