I know this dosn't belong here but I need to get this out.
Jannies can ban me, whatever, I don't care.

My mother is currently in an operating room, getting her leg amputated. She has been suffering under rheumatism for 16 years now and the treatment with cortisone turned her weak and fragile. For the last week she had massive pain in her leg, so strong that she cried in pain, couldn't sleep at night. I wanted to call the ambulance twice, but my mother refused. It would go away naturally, she said.
A friend told me not to listen to her and call the ambulance anyway. But I followed the will of my mother and didn't call it.
Yesterday she noticed one of her toes turned black, like the it died off the rest of the foot. She finally gave in and I drove her to the hospital. She had several blocked veins in her leg and apparently also one in her stomach which could lead to an aneurysm.

She might die, now or in the next days after the amputation. And I'm mostly blaming myself for this because I didn't call the ambulance.

I don't know what to tell you, anon. I'm sorry that it happened, but there's nothing I can do for you.

Amputation isn't the end of the world, though, especially these days with ever-advancing prosthesis and other technological improvements. Hang in there!
