From what I gathered, the preload becomes available on the 21st, and the content becomes accessible on the 23rd (in JST of course) so we'll see in 17 hours if Prelude and the themes get early access.
By the way, the themes' titles have officially been revealed as "Dynamic Theme F" and "Dynamic Theme T" which is good news as it was unclear if the themes would be dynamic or static. Also the filesize is just a smidgen over 25GB, which is considerably smaller than the 40GB+ estimates I was seeing, so that's cool.

It is about the size of a standard fight stick. The buttons are actually much bigger than the ones on a fight stick. It's called "mini" because Hori had also made a fullsize one, meaning, the size of the controller seen on the cabinet.
I've heard that the mini controller suffered from squishy buttons, or were at least less tactile than the full size one, although I'd imagine it's better than a PS4 controller. I haven't personally used one, and they're not cheap.

Technically, it had everything a normal controller has. Thumbsticks, face buttons, dpad, L1 L2 R1 R2, touchpad and touchpad button, share, option, light, speaker, mic port

Songs are unlocked sequentially. Clearing a song unlocks the next one, clearing that unlocks the next, and so on. Standard on Normal unlocks, hard, Standard on Hard unlocks Extreme.
Modules are where it gets weird. 1st had unlocking criteria to meet for each module, doing both requirements unlocked the module. The requirements were usually like, get 100 combo, Clear Hard, Great Normal, clear 5 times, something like that.
Then they got rid of that and added Diva Points, which is like Miku Money. Clearing a song unlocked a costume, which could be bought from the store for so many DP. Some modules had other criteria like clear so many songs with a specific character, clear every song on Hard, play this song with this character in this module.
Now, I haven't played X, but it looks like they've done away with Miku getting DP and instead modules are unlocked via random drops. Also modules have "skills" and the whole system looks more complicated than it needs to be, so I'm hoping that since FT is supposed to be 1st-F2nd, they'll just use those systems instead of whatever is happening in X.

As I understand it, you can get a pretty decent sound with miku and minimal tuning. A good 70% of producers that use miku probably barely touch the tuning settings. Utau on the other hand requires a lot of skill, but it's definitely doable if you just put time in it.

Maybe this is common knowledge since this is just an arcade port, but i notice on multis, they're kinda layed out like the buttons on the arcade. If you see one come up and one is on the far left and one is on the far right, you know it's going to be △+O, because on the arcade, triangle is left and circle is right. You don't even need to look at the symbol, just the position. This seems pretty consistent. It also works on horizontal ones, it's just

Might be helpful since you can process the position a lot faster than identifying each symbol.

Use alternate thumbs when possible

If you are new to rhythm games in general get comfortable looking a few notes ahead.
You should not be looking at the symbol to cross unless it is a very slow note you can't predict the timing of from the groove of the song.
